I love ending 8. Imagine being the elder god/demon/entity that's making these deals. Some fucking human just slides up and says "Hey, for the reward? Just don't do the curse thing." And then he WINS.

There's actually an ending for getting a pizza. It's actually hilarious. Imagine going through all this trouble just to get a free fucking pizza, only for it to be a fake.

The Ultimate Power ending sounds like some really sweet lyrics from a heavy metal song. Also, wonder what the aliens would say in the Apocalypse ending. "Ma'am XZP-558X, we found the planet, but it is...completely devoid of life." "You've got to be kidding, cadet PPT-310Y, our observations showed this planet had billions of potential slaves to send to the salt mines! Whatever shall we do now?" "Well ma'am...you will have to eat your Krbawlotz stew without salt." "NOOOOOOOO!"

The true "GOOD" ending to this game in my opinion is "Ending the Curse." Sure you don't get any physical rewards such as Immortality, or things like peace or power, but you don't really NEED all that. Notice how in the end, all of that stuff comes back to bite. The wealth comes back to bite you, since all you receive is the wealth, and the entire world is erased and you are left with nothing but meaningless wealth. The Immortality comes back to bite you, because even though you cannot be harmed and you may do as you please without suffering, you will live forever, even when everyone and everything else is gone forever. The peace comes back to bite because it renders everyone defenseless, and put them in a living hell. The power comes back to bite because you turn corrupt and put everyone in a living hell. Thus making you as evil as the evil master. Apocalypse is self explanatory. Basically, everything that makes a huge "promising" difference in your life and others' lives comes back to bite in the worst way. Except for "ending the curse". Notice, all you receive in "ending the curse" is saving victims and knowledge on that. You get nothing else. You might wind up homeless, shot, or anything. War continues to rage on. But, even so, you ending that horrid curse is what really counts. Even if nobody else were to believe in the curse, as long as you know you did something that saved others, you are mentally rewarded instead of physically rewarded. Physical rewards are very overrated sometimes, and I feel like this was a lesson this game was trying to teach, and that you must also be very careful with your wishes, because even something as considerate as "world peace" could put everything in grave danger. Also, you can still get Wealth and power in a different way without the wishes. You can do good things, and you'll get a positive power, and well earned wealth instead of greedy and lonely wealth. So, as I said, imo, the "good ending" is the "ending the curse" one. It's simple, doesn't make any huge changes to the world, or to your economical status, but it's one of the best deeds you could've done. You allowed life to continue on normally for others. You've saved many without world peace.

Wait a minute.... So then, couldn't I wish for my depression to go away, thus preventing me from ending my own life and finding eternal happiness/resolution - Whatever you want to call it?

In proper order, here's every single 'Secret Ending' to Dead End Road, no commentary, just the endings.

Infinite wishes means you can literally become more powerful and knowledgeable than the dark powers as a god. You could simply wish for the ability to grant any and all wishes at your own, conscious discretion, infinite power, total knowledge, and the destruction of evil.

Infinite wishes.. "Life without adversity seems pointless"..? THE WISH FOR SOME ADVERSITY, WTF

So basically most of the endings (except the “no curse” ending) are bad and humanity will always fall or you will be lost forever...this game truly states that “be careful for what you wish for”

The first and last decisions seems to be the best betweem the others Humanity finally living in peace after mileniums would be so awesome in this present times And sometimes aknowledge about setting free other people from the curse of the Dark Powers maybe is a good gift, because you know you saved many lives

Wow, that "more wishes" ending is kinda bullshit... I guess it depends from person to person, but I really find it hard for someone to find life meaningless, unless they have zero connection to it. Don't you have friends? Family? Even a pet? Make wishes to have their lives be better. Don't care about either of those? What about making your life more fun? Even with cheat mode on, games can be fun if you make it so! I can think up of so many stuff to do if I had infinite wishes, not just wealth, love and comfort. How about going back in time and trying to challenge yourself by living a certain period in human's history? Go back in medieval ages, for example, and try to do something yourself to make a mark on the planet, so that in the future, you'd have your face and name plastered all over history books and museums! Oooor wish to go to the future, help humanity reach space travel, explore the entire universe! So many opportunities.

The best ending is the "No Curse" ending, but the "More Wishes" ending has much greater potential, had it been used correctly.

The more wishes ending is BULLSHIT. Maybe after destroying the dark powers, turning Earth into first a (heavily armed) utopia and then a benevolent interstellar superpower, and swanning about the universe fighting evil like Gurren Lagann on shark steroids I'd get bored. Of course, said boredom would be alleviated first by forming an intergalactic heavy metal band with some of the cooler Norse gods and touring Andromeda for a few millennium, then by retirement to a luxurious jungle-palace the size of some small Earth nations on the ocean floor of Europa, with a population density similar to Tokyo and inhabited entirely by attractive bisexual women with high libidos from across the known universe, who entirely of their own free will think that I'm the best thing since sliced bread. Then when I get bored with THAT I'd just fuel a sizable portion of the local stellar clusters economy with drug habit, open up a university and debate hall in said palace where the greatest minds of the now ridiculously strong Terran Empire and it allies can visit my impossibly luxurious ultra-utopia and mingle with the staggeringly multi-ethnic and multi-species nation of hot bitches, providing me with an endless source of fascinating conversation, new knowledge, and new viewpoints. Then when I got bored of THAT I'd take stock of the massively expanded horizons available to me, the avenues for adventure, distraction, and straight-up hedonism that 21st century humans do not have concepts for because we are not immortal space-faring Living Gods, and pursue those. Forever. I basically become a benevolent, hedonistic eldritch abomination at this point, and stay that way forever. Originally-human Narlyathotep crossed with Santa Clause from A Miracle on 34th street and the angels from It's a Wonderful Life and Wings of Desire. Fuck, this is completely disregarding the fact that I could probably live for decades at a stretch between adventures as basically an omnipotent NEET and just sort of chill out in a vaguely comfortable room with 21st century internet, much less in a space mansion the size of Belgium with gourmet food, drink, drugs and entertainment from across a sizable portion of the universe and a rotating army of punk rock Japanese schoolgirls and alien horny green-skinned alien catgirls making out in every corner. If for some reason all of this loses its flavor after a while, and I go through a few hundred or thousand years of voluntarily living off the land on a Montana mountainside somewhere and visiting my family, who are in heaven forever if I have to fucking build it myself, I could just wish to be never bored, or be happy, or for true love so powerful that even the simplest things never lose their magic when I'm with her. Whelp, now I've depressed myself. Anyway, bullshit. There's enough evil in the world, and presumably the rest of the universe if the salt-mining aliens are indication, that I could never be bored of being the Wrathful God. Unlimited wishes seems like a steal of a wish to me. In obtaining the ability to grant wishes through your own as you please, you could use this power to help others, or even have them jump through a few hoops in exchange for a wish. In all honesty a wish like that could be entertaining. And if you start feeling down or depressed you could simply wish to not feel that way and it would come true. It seems a wish like that can only really be depressing or terrible if you make it so yourself.

It's almost like the devs sat down and played D&D, messed with the Wish spell, and said "this will make an awesome video game. Let's make it!"

Wishing for something can be twisted, much like how Genies do. This wish from this Dark Evil Entity seems like it would always be twisted regardless of how intelligent you can word it.

It seems a lot of people don't get the downside to the "infinite wishes" ending. Even if you "wish for life to have more meaning", "wish for your ennui to be cured", etc., it would still defeat the purpose of "infinite wishes". The power would essentially fabricate any scenario where your wish would be "granted", but you'd still come full circle to wishing for another thing to make life interesting, and be trapped in the same never ending cycle. Hell, we don't even know for sure you wouldn't end up like the old lady. Forced to continue the cycle of the curse.

I was kinda hoping that one of the endings would be that you wish for your own succubus.

I think the "Ultimate Power" ending is the coolest, most badass for sure (although not what one should consider very "good" lol), while the "World Peace" is the nicest (if not count the alien invasion, but that's just bullshit... yea, sure, aliens invaded a planet in an entirely different system, just to bring in slaves from there, and put them to work in a salt mine of all places. Sounds like an ending pulled out of an ass. Just like the 'depression and wish for death' being a thing in the 'wishing for more wishes' ending, just wish for happiness lol, wish for creativity, imagination, passion, inspiration. I like how Ultimate Power is just a way better version of Rule World, sure you become a bloody tyrant, but at least you don't get killed for being blamed on everything.

Seems like ultimate power and the "no curse" route are the best options. You become a major asshole in the former, but really that's about it. The latter is just a generally nice ending, that's about it. The infinite wishes seems a bit like an asspull for a "sour end", but eh whatever.
