The best argument that I know of Reverse Flash being able to decide that the ring was important was that in the DC universe, there's an entire faction that uses power rings (green lanterns, red lanterns, yellow lanterns, etc.). And with how many times they would've killed each other, Thawne would probably put it together the ring may be important through trial and error, he is a genius too after all.

Doesn't matter how strong Goku Black was. There is no way he could find a way to kill Zoom and have him stay dead. Zoom on the other hand was far far FAR faster and had LITERALY all the time in the world to find out what that ring does.

Yeah Reverse Flash in absolutely insane. Can't be killed, and instead has to be essentially erased by another capable speedster in a VERY specific way. As for how he knew about the Ring, Thawne- as a scientist and time traveler would be curious what the secret behind Black's ahility to come back and time travel. If it was better than his own he likely would have taken it for himself. Nothing is stopping him from going back in time and figuring it out. In fact- this battle probably lasted longer and originally percieved. They could've been battling for years in multiple different timelines all at the same time. That's plenty of time especially with speed thinking.

Reverse Flash has a reputation for being broken as a character. Like Flashpoint, when he dies believe it or not he can still move around like it's nothing. He had a lot more experience with time manipulation as well. Not to mention, I hate to say Goku Black was rigged to lose. Most solutions to limiting down Reverse Flash, Zamasu would've quickly became arrogant seeing em below him. His best opportunity sadly would never show up due to either Speed Force are cosmic forces that do have a mind of their own. Clearly there's no way Goku Black can blow up the Negative Speed Force.

I wanted goku black to win (mainly because I like db a little better than dc) but there is no way reverse flash could've lost this because 1.Reverse flash has more ap whether people believe it or not and the speed difference between them is much bigger than some other db fans know 2.They both are technically immortal but removing goku black's ring makes that irrelevant and I think most of us can agree that rf would eventually find out that zamasu's ring is the source of his power rather than zamasu finding out that rf got his powers because of an incident

yeah if this was Vegeta or Goku i could see them winning But RF has so many years worth of content and stories behind him nobody else can compete. TLDR: anything vs comic is going to lose just because of the BS power lvls they have, unless they are fighting each other. it's why anime should be fighting manga, video games, or cartoons. dc should just fight marvel. the power gaps are on par that way.
