Strokes happen when the flow of blood to the brain is obstructed or a bleed occurs. This prevents oxygen from reaching parts of the brain, causing them to die or become damaged. When a stroke affects the cerebellum, this can cause Ataxia.
The National Ataxia Foundation is proud to host this webinar presented by Dr. Jeremy Schmahmann on April 30th, 2024. In "All About Ataxia Caused By Stroke", he gave an overview of Ataxia caused by stroke, including the typical diagnostic journey for those affected, what to expect for clinical care, and an overview of current research.
