I swear the developers had to have seen the exploits people do in BotW. I mean look at Urbosas bomb rune parrying it with the shield or zeldas flying machine replica 😆
The reason glitches (usually) dont get patcbed is because the deva think glitches are fun and interesting So im guessing they also watch zelda glitch vids and have fun rather than taking it down 😆
The way the guardian flips over after using a cryonis rune seems to be in reference to a glitch in BOTW that would cause guardians to blast off like team rocket if you summoned a block of ice under them.
Oh that's neat. That kinda implies that what nearly KO'd link was a special Guardian, which kind of explains why the ones in the game are fairly easy to kill with pot lid.
@@rymndgeekyguy Did you see the speed of that first Guardian in that trailer of BoTW? Its design is almost this one, the devs MUST have brought it back from oblivion and I'm really happy with it. I used this Guardian when it was weak but I'm definitely giving it a try again, specially now that Cotera has been nerfed (obviously) and Daruk is, finally, playable.
@@Awesomeflame16 it’s comical how the flying ones are so much more terrifying in AoC than BotW. Can’t stand when they rag doll me with laser multi shot so I just auto special attack them whenever I spot one
Calamity Ganon: i am the strongest being! Nothing can stop my takeover! BTG: swiggy swooty, locked on to that booty. *bright lights flashing and horrifying screams echo in the distance*
My new favorite character in this game, you feel like such a force of nature when you master this play style. I only wish you could listen to the dreaded piano while you rampage
The guardian fighting alongside the group is quite easily explainable. The guardians that have not been corrupted glow orange, whereas the corrupted ones grow red.
@@TheFallinhalo It's shown to be both. There is a dlc quest in botw where you fight some guardians that were meant to test the champions. These ones glow orange, as they were not corrupted. Perhaps they glow orange when in combat mode, and blue when they are passive.
But a damn site more agile and has way more then your laser weapon. And the fire rate is faster then the others. You can even shoot it without the laser target system though it’s more accurate when you do use it.
My favorite part is when fighting the battle-tested guardian, there's an attack where it fires it's laser which when parried, the guardian also bounces it back so it's similar to Phantom Ganon's main attack.
Yeah, have a feeling you're gonna get the flail out in like 2 hours or whatever, but I still want the Terrako guide to turn my Egg-baby from part of a balanced breakfast to a destroyer of worlds.
First I was disappointed because i thought we would get Purah, Robbie or other already seen characters instead of a Guardian. It was ironically not expected by me (since we had a playable Guardian already). However, the Guardian is practically the Mascot of BotW so it was no question, that he got added. I especially adore his design since his scratches, moss and attached rusted weapons show the beauty and danger of Hyrule in the era of the wild.
@@joshcoy6748, I think the reason Purah & Robbie and Sooga where in DLC pack 2 was because it made more sense to have them as part of that pack since it was related to the story part of AoC.
Honestly, the thing i like the most about this character is the unique action. Literally no chance of missing your strong attacks in small spaces that screw with the camera!
@@milesstorzillo1039 its like a mission but to unlock the mission you need to progress through a tech tree that use new material and well most of the material are grindy to get
I still wish it had been Kass or some other actual character, but DAMN does this thing look ludicrously, hilariously amazing. Thanks for showing it off!
Keep in mind this is wave 1 of the DLC and is themed around ancient machinery, so Kass wouldn't have made sense with that theming. I agree Kass would be great though.
@@JacobPDeIiNoNi They were using Kass to make a point. We could've had Purah with the Flails and Robbie with the Bike rather then giving already versatile and likely used characters another weapon type each. We could've also had Astor, we even have a random mission where you team up with him but... nothing. (A lot of maps are not designed for large characters limiting their use.)
@@Buglin_Burger7878 I do agree they should've just done Purah and Robbie with the new weapons but kinda glad I didn't need to spend money or grind to get levels up to use those weapons.
Of all things about this character, I think one of my favorite things about it is the killing weak-point smash it uses on large enemies. The fact that the terrifying main lasers guardians are known for _isn't the heaviest weapon on this thing,_ and it reveals this by latching onto a molduga's face and freaking *_coreing it with it,_* is amazing.
As much as I wanted Sooga to be playable, I'm really enjoying the Battle Tested Guardian. Now we get to scare the socks off the enemies with the intimidating lasers.
Personally I think sooga would be an interesting character to play as, I just don't see what relevance they would have had with this dlc, perhaps the next one?
The Guardian is a lot of fun to use, and this video demonstrates its strengths well. Given how slow its attack string is, I think there is an argument for another seal build where you pump Strong Attack damage as much as possible and spam locked-on C2, C1, and C3 without necessarily caring about forcing out weak point gauges at all.
It's 3rd Strong attack 6:16 so fun to use. I had it use Sensor or Monster drop seals++ for farming huge crowds. With enough attack power that single 3rd strong attack can 1 shot crowd of regular enemies, making farming stuff pretty fast. This Guardian is also pretty fun with 2 players. Its like having a back up turrent with you.
Now I really want Harbinger Ganon to be a playable character. I can totally see its moveset being a mixture of Terrako's and the Battle-Tested Guardian's playstyles.
Personally I think that would be a stretch, I think it would more likely be a combination of terrako and calamity Ganon in terms of functionality, I do not see the relevance of the Battle tested guardian in this character.
once i unlocked that space laser attack i was just like "what can stop this thing now!?" its amazing how easy it cuts thru gauges. i love playing as the guardian, so cool also the unique theme it comes with is tops too
Pre-patch Great Fairies are stronger because the defense lowering unique action had no cap, so it destroyed every enemy in the game, but this is a very close second. Just being able to destroy weak-point gauges is awesome.
This felt like one situation in which the prototype was far superior to the final release model, maybe they cut corners in production to save in finances?
I would love to see this guardian as an NPC in Tears of the Kingdom. It would be nice seeing it wondering the depths digging up buried Sheikah tech and blasting the gloom away.
I fell in love with them when i used them in the first battle with material rate gear and food to farm material for the dlc, each C3 was an endless wave of materials storming toward the guardian, it was beautiful
This character being revealed to be DLC was the final marble in the scale that made me buy this game AND pay for the 20 dollar DLC. It’s going to be worth every penny! 😈
In the cryonis ability’s animation (which is incredibly hilarious as hell), it shows the guardian being flung. Reminds me of the great times of Zelda. Plus, this character is so cool and unique!
The Guardian has been one of my favorite characters ever in BotW and being able to play as one is so satisfying. Really good on taking out bosses, since you can just lock on them and just spam your strong dash lmao
As Strange as it is It is darn awesome to have a Guardian of that power on the side of good. And the only one that never got corrupted by Ganon and the Malice. Awesome.
Sure, this thing isn’t the second coming of Christ, or the greatest thing since sliced bread, but from what I’ve seen, it’s holds its own pretty well. I got up at 9am on the day of the DLC’s release, and within… 30 hours I’d gotten this thing unlocked. Set my difficulty to Normal, and took it to the second to last story mission. And while it wasn’t the greatest, even with a Lv1 base weapon, it still did pretty well.
At first, i was both disappointed and sceptical but after playing with it, i think it is a really great addition to the roster, the guardian is very strong and very fun, i even would go as far as calling it busted but in a positive way. I especially love it's C3, because it is a great mob killer and also a great way to shredd WPGs of bosses, if you use it's ZR to focus.
After you finish releasing the other guides you should make some small guides on other things like how to beat vicious monster sightings or best ways to farm weapons. I also wouldn’t mind seeing your favorite maps, or just hearing you talk more about the game outside of specific characters.
Can you make an Attack Speed++ farm guide? Basically every weapon is made better by having it, but it seems to be one of the best seals. I've only ever found 5 and I'm 100h into the game.
I find them pretty consistently by playing Chapter 7 missions on Apocalyptic during a Blood Moon. With 4 Increase Quality of Weapon Seals on 2 characters, I get an Attack Speed++ every two runs or so. Just note you have to have the character(s) with IQWS seals kill bosses and clear bases, or else the seals found won’t be boosted.
I like how his weak-point finisher attack is THE, yes, THE most brutal execution EVER. He crawls up onto his victim and VICIOUSLY blasts them with a laser. Like I said, this is the most brutal execution ever.
This is like having a secret boss from the beginning of the last game be a playable character, both would wreck you due to you being new, *but when you're in their shoes you CAN'T be stopped!*
It reminds me of the 3 sisters in Kirby Star Allies where they are even better when you control them as you can spam attacks they normally charge. They are stupid strong.
Wait a minute..... it has long, slender protrusions with additional modifications on the end for grasping (and walking) Octopi has protrusions that gets slimmer and has suction cups on the underside of their *ARM* Many squids has really long and slim protrusions that has a thick blob on the end whose underside has the suction cups.... and claws Of their *TENTACLES* That means guardians actually have tentacles
The BTG C4 lock on gains a stagger effect on the finale hit and can be cancelled because the BTG will shoot at the shards every time only when locked on.
I actually find the Guardian’s C4 to be a better move than its C6. The C6 is insanely good obviously, but your attacks are so slow that 80% of the time you’re not going to be able to cycle through your regular attacks fast enough to use it. The C4 exposes weakpoints way sooner and still does an incredible job of actually destroying weak point gauges.
Guardian has slow attacks so I prefer 2 attack speed buffs, it also has very strong special attacks so strong attack buff. Guardian excels at killing big groups of enemies AND killing bosses. The Damage per 100 KOs increase seal is pretty good.
I always wanted to ride a guardian back in day when I played BOTW and clear out hordes of Bokoblins, Lizalfos and especially Lynels Well here I don't get to ride it, but control it? I'LL TAKE IT!!!!
when they showed the list of items they where adding in the dlc and it said "battle tested guardian" i thought that ment it had been tested and balanced, but apparently not
