I need your advice and insights. I have six balloon mollies kept in a 50-gallon community tank (15 Danios, 10 Neon Tetras, 3 Corycats, 5 Siamese algae eaters and 1 otocinclus). They look fine to me, they are usually active and eating their share during meal time but most of the time I see them staying on the bottom portion of the tank or behind my lava rock or upper portion of the tank even on top of my submersible pump. Should i worry? What could be the problem? Thanks
my balloon molly gave birth 4 days ago, she has 24 babies, and then i separate the mother from babies. today my fry mollies only 14, 10 others died.. i wonder what happened. is it because i placed the fry into fish tank who have a plant in it? or because i didnt gave them food, cause what i read is they eat microorganisme which will grow several hours under the sun. please help. im a newbie and sorry for bad english
nadia akita well for molly fry i crunch flakes for food. but i cant help you if they die... normally it wouldt be a problem but if they die it can be anything maybe not anough food, gave birth to soon ...
I have a female black molly, she is quite big & not being funny her back end is very white. Is she pregnant? She is eating alright but she seems to be swimming in a circle under the filter & heater.

I have a female Dalmatian molly that is a tiny bit swollen but she has a little orange spot near one of her fins which some people say means they are pregnant. is that true??
l had pair of black mollies , they bred and probuced 12 young which grew to adulthood and lhad no trouble with them at all untill today when they all suddenly died. There was no sign òf illness or injury andthey were fine this morning. What could have happened. All other fish in the tank apear fine.
I have a question. i can understand when a molly is pregnant. but my question is it necessary to put the male molly also in the fry trap with female. or female is okay ?? Waiting to hear from you. Thanks Asif
So, I bought a gold dust molly and a white molly. I want them to mate, since one is male (white molly) and one is female (gold dust molly) And if they do mate, how long does it take for the babies to produce/form/grow in the female's stomach?
yes she will give birth but it will take a day or 2 before she will callm down. you can always put some floating plants into the tank or fry tank helps to calm down. :)
hi, iv had my black mollies about a month now, she just given birth to at least 15 little babies, i didnt know she was pregnant until i saw them all swimming in my plants yesterday, non of the other fish have eaten them as far as i know, i have guppies and platys in tank. i cant gather them all up as theres far too many to catch them all, cant see them as i have black gravel too! they seem happy enough. does anyone know if its normal for a black mollie to have have so many babies in one time?
well in some cases it might be. but its not always that the molly give birth in 1 time maybe there are more inside her and she will release them later. mostly they stop giving birth if they are stressed, so it can be.
i had the same experience. I found one of my black balloon molly lifeless behind my hardscape. Could it be because of bullying or stress from other mollies?
Ihab saiid I asked the lady at the petstore to try and get me all female and she ended up getting me 2 males and 1 female when they were in the bag they didnt fight then i put them in the tank and then one of them was niping the other ones so I put him in the breeding in the tank for 6hrs then he stopped attacking them and also the female was pregnant but they ate the fry if this problem is still happening after you separate them even after my late reply just remove the aggresive one.
are females more bigger than the males? i have 3 black lyretail molly but i can see their butts > n < i have one who has a big tummy and my dad told me that it just ate a lot. (we have bought them last friday..)
