Hi Doc I enjoyed your video and I must say that I just turned 50, on the 28 of April . Months ago I would go get my blood work done and when the results come in and my OBGYN always say my AMH is really low and my egg reserve is going down because of my age and to look into IVF, it’s a hurting feeling but then again I brush is off what my doctor told me and start believing and trusting in God above because he’s the one who have the final say so. Your video’s do give me hope and I thank God for you explaining and getting down to the nitty gritty 💕

Fading A the CoQ10 I took was pureclinica and I took it 2 times a day a lot of women take it 3 times a day I was taking solgar before that but changed to this after another RU-vid mum recommended it as she said a lot of women conceived taking it I swear it helped me I’m convinced anyways started end of July and got positive pregnancy test October 19 after 5 chemical pregnancies and a 10 week miscarriage this is baby no 7 I also took Gaia vitex vit c and vit b6 and zita west dha but you should definitely give zita west and CoQ10 a try wishing you best of luck

I decided (in addition to my fertility specialist, who is great but not a "detective" like you) to explore acupuncture because I really need a personalized treatment plan. Hi Dr Marc! Should we also have our prolactin tested as well? How much does the male factor play? Low sperm count? Varicocele? I feel like women do so much to understand/improve our bodies but if there’s no change on that end, is there a chance?

Yes, prolactin is important to test, but this video was focused on egg quality which is why my list of labs was focused on that. All of those male factor issues are very important, I talk about it in other videos.

I’m almost 39 and still not pregnant. My AMH is 6.02 all my results seems fine. My husband has massive pulmonary embolisms could this be impacting our chances of getting pregnant? He is 54.

@@MarcSklarTheFertilityExpert Thank you Dr. I have been really focused in on those numbers stressing myself and being told by my Dr's nurse that my AMH was too low for an egg retrieval this past March and I wasnt even there for IVF. I saw that in another Dr's video the AMH was a level of the fluid around the eggs so in my mind, my Dr and probably all Dr's who say it doesnt matter which point of your cycle this test is done, really dont know anything about what their testing.

@@dona_grace Theoretically, AMH can be tested at any time of your cycle, however, I do find clinically that the Cycle day it is tested makes a difference. Now FSH, LH and E2 need to be tested for sure on CD 2, 3 or 4.

@@MarcSklarTheFertilityExpert ok, my AMH was .517 on 7/10/20, taken on day 3. On March 27 this year its saying .08 on day 23, just days before my next period. There's no way my reserve couldve dropped so fast even as an aging woman and recovering from my crazy cycle Vitex berry experience. That stuff's addicting btw.

I liked your video .I have negative RA and I’d been taking Methotrexate 2.5mg tablets for couple of months.However I’ve stopped taking it since October.because my doctor said if you are considering getting pregnant so you are supposed to stop taking it at least 12 weeks before trying to conceive.so my question is does methotrexate deform eggs only when we are on it or permanently ?

Please can someone tell me why you need your androgen levels and DHEA levels tested? How do these hormones affect fertility and pregnancy? As you are aware testing for this is not standard practice in the UK, on the NHS or privately.

I have watched them all but the reason why I was asking again is because I have been told by two leading fertility doctors in the UK (one on the NHS and one at a private clinic) not to have DHEA even though I have been telling them about your research and other research from books. I have a rare condition called panypopituitarism so basically I was born with only a partially developed pituitary gland so don't produce hormones. I have to take hormone replacements - growth hormone injections; hydrocortisone; the combined contraceptive pill; and thyroxine. I don't produce LH or FSH hormones or testosterone or other hormones and was only given the LH/FSH hormone injections when I pursued fertility treatment. I am 41, had IVF with ICSI, had one mature egg in the cycle; reached blastocyst; first embryo transfer got pregnant. Tragically at 11 weeks 4 days I was informed at the dating scan that baby's heart had stopped beating. Up to that point the baby had been developing normally. A week and a half prior to that scan had a HARMONY scan which had to be sent off to be analysed. I found out from those results the baby had Downs Syndrome and I put that down to the quality of my eggs... I question whether the fertility specialists (inc a fertility endocrinologist specialist) actually know what they are talking about in my case, by not giving me DHEA, and whether that could have had a positive impact and improved the quality of my eggs so the baby wouldn't have had Downs. Am devastated...

Hey Katrina, the reason for needing androgen levels tested prior to taking dhea supplement is because dhea increases testosterone, so it needs to be assessed on an individual basis and monitored. Taking dhea can have a really negative effect on someone like myself for example, I have pcos and my problem is my androgens are extremely high in the first place, therefore I could never take dhea supplement. I'm in uk also, and as pcos was suspected that's why they tested my androgens . You need the right balance of androgens , that's why it's not recommended women take them without being monitored. If your androgens are too low it might be beneficial to take as you actually need androgens, but i say should be monitored because then when they are too high they affect your fertility really negatively aswell

Thanks so much for explaining doctor because I was so confused im 41 now but suffered a miscarriage in November 2020 at the age of 40 and while having the miscarriage I was given and ultrasound to confirm...at the time I was 7 weeks the ultrasound tech told me she didn't see very many follicles left and that pretty much I should be happy that I already have some children I didn't understand what she meant but my amh..before that pregnancy was 0.75....so I still have hope right?

Yes you do. An Ultrasound can not see all the follicles you have left forever.

I had my AMH checked a few months ago and it was 5.10. Is this number too high? I'm 29 with a history of irregular periods. My OB told me my AMH was normal and was not concerned about a possibility of PCOS. Should I get a second opinion?

That is high. Since you have irregular cycles then I do think this means you have PCOS. If she is not worried about it then you need to find someone else who can support you.
