Wow, I knew about Lyme disease but have never heard of this "Alpha Gal" thing.. that's so scary! I'm so glad you are feeling better Kyle and as I said in the Live, I prayed right away earlier and when you first mentioned this to us all. I had no idea that a tick bite could cause such devastation for people. I hate those things, they are absolutely disgusting. Happy Birthversary!! My son has had his red meat allergy for about 15 years. His job requires him to go in woods and high grass. The tick that causes this has a white spot on it. I am sorry you have to deal with this. Stay well. I wish you and Shannon nothing but the best

I’m glad you found out I’m alergic to certain ticks to and got deathly sick . I think I told you before I ended up with Rocky Mountain fever from it . Hope your feeling better I have to keep Benadryl on hand because of ticks and it does help

I'm in SE Wisconsin. Biggest problem here is deer ticks and Lyme disease. It's gotten so people in suburban areas have to be mindful of tall grassy areas

Hey guys....I'm so glad you got test results back that confirm what your research indicated ....and you've already started on a new nutrition protocol that will reduce or eliminate those horrible side effects to the tick bite. The facial expression you saw on Mario is called the Flehmen Response....it is used by males of many species of mammals to check the urine smell on a female to see if she is in heat. Learned that from several other homesteaders I watch. I've seen it many times with goats and horses. If Mario detected that with Blue or your other does, you should see mating behavior soon. If you do, you can write down the date the doe was "covered" by the male and that will help you figure out when she is due to deliver. Hope that's helpful information. Prayers are with them both. I’m sure it’s hard on her as well. Now she has to figure out other things to cook that they both like and can eat. And I’m sure she will not eat certain foods in front of him so I’m sure that isn’t going to be fun but I know she is going to support him in every way she can. Let’s hope it isn’t the worst strain of whatever it is.

My son's moved us to the mountains of Virginia. My husband was walking in the woods around my son's home. For dinner we had pre frozen hamburgers. An hour or so later my husband started itching and his skin started swelling. So I took him to the hospital emergency room. She asked him if he had a tick on him, he said yes, then she asked him what he had for dinner, pre frozen hamburgers. She said you have an allergy to red meat because of the tick bite. He has to take a Benadryl tablet every morning. We found out that fresh hamburger that we patty ourselves doesn't bother him. We have to keep the yard mowed really short. I noticed that there are really tall patches of grass, you need to keep it down way down cause they like to be in that. Yeah that doctor knew right away what was going on with him. Some of those spotted ticks have that Lyme disease too. You take care of yourself and remember to keep everything that's green cut way down low. I would suggest getting taller boots and white shirts cause the will fall out of the trees, that way you can see them. I have Ortho bug b gone and I sprayed around the bottom of the trees in my yard , since you have goats spray up as high as they can't reach all around the tree. That will at least slow them down. The grass getting mowed super short will help a lot. Donna from southwestern Virginia.

Kyle, I’m glad you researched about tick bite disease and problems. I cannot have red meat and many other things. I had the Kansas State Lawrence University research, per Dr order to find cause and what my food allergy issues were. There was/is an enzyme that is linked to mine. I can’t eat watermelon, tuna, zucchini, red meat, and now other foods…but my situation I have MS, am 70 yrs old and am miserable because I want a whopper or Big Mac. Good luck, God’s blessings throughout this journey. I’m praying for you. Be careful even smelling the red meat cooking…I’m serious. I can’t be around a barbecue now. I pray that you can adapt…without any issues. Love you folks.🥰🙏🏻

🤫 DON'T tell the Dr's Office that you are able to see the Lab Test Results! They will probably make sure that feature is blocked from any future access. You will want to use it again on future labs for a check-up or if some other issue comes up!

I use plant butter everywhere. I use coconut milk or oat milk. If you put coconut milk in fridge then whip it makes a great like cool whip. Add a strawberry jelly or plain strawberries. Great source of plant based protein mix no whey. Lots of options 😊

I'm praying for you, Kyle, allergies in general suck but I can't imagine dealing with that one. On the bonus side, you're doing a great job of telling people what to watch out for and to get right on to finding out what's going on. So important with most tick-borne illnesses. You seem to be on the right path, for figuring out what you can and can't eat, so stay strong and God bless you all. I'd love to know what Herc's thinking was with stealing Spruce's hay was.

If your doctor confirms that diagnosis *PLEASE* get him/her to refer you to an *allergy specialist* with experience treating/managing patients with that allergy! As they will know far more than your general doctor AND be more up to date with any possible treatment options and research. And if due to that lab requiring a result of 1% or less to say you have it, your doctor says you don’t… *STILL* find an allergy specialist who treats this allergy & make an appointment ASAP for a second opinion!! I unfortunately have multiple rare chronic illnesses/conditions as a result of a rare genetic illness/condition & Ive had multiple general doctors & ER doctors claim I didn’t have something due to such lab values which *were not* in line with the *OFFICIAL* diagnostic criteria from the actual experts! WHY each lab gets to set their own values is beyond me. Of course their excuse/reasoning is that the doctors ordering the tests *should* know what values to look for. However many, if not most, doctors who aren’t specialists…& even many of those…simply look to see if a lab report shows what that lab has set as with normal range or if a test is positive/negative. I know before I became disabled nearly all the ER doctors I worked with as an ER nurse just went by whatever the lab report said. Which is an issue I now have to deal with as a patient when I go to that same ER for chronic pancreatitis due to EPI. Which EPI causes my pancreas to *not produce* digestive enzymes including lipase…& high lipase levels is how they test for pancreatitis. And bc their lab has no “low” for lipase…I end up arguing with the doctors that single digit lipase levels are both NOT within “normal” range & it proves I have EPI…thus requiring an ultrasound, CT or MRI to check my pancreas instead.🤯🤯 Or I end up having to just suffer until I can get through to my GI specialists to urgently do an ultrasound in the office or order an emergency CT/MRI & then directly admit me to the hospital when it shows I’m having a flare. Which *CAN* be life threatening in multiple ways! Drives me crazy! As if not being able to eat *anything* without first taking strong prescription replacement enzymes & dealing with frequent nausea/vomiting/diarrhea as well as abdominal pain wasnt already stressful enough.😒😒But…it could always be worse.

Don't wait on the doctor be persistent, advocate for yourself. I have a brother that got Lyme disease from a deer tick.

I always have a knife in my pocket! But then I'm a wedding/event florist. Remember, you will cut yourself faster with a dull knife than a sharp knife.

You know Spruce can't get big like his daddy unless he eats alot like Bruce. So he was just helping out with the lid off the food bucket. Praying when your Dr. Calls nothing is wrong even though your pretty sure you don't. Nice gifts you got each other. Kyle and Shanon. Plant peppermint plants and pyrethrin plants on your property. Make sure goats cannot get at it though. Otherwise it will be useless lol. Reason i say plant them is because peppermint is not liked by the bug world and acts as a deterrent to them as well as rodents. Pyrethrin is used in flea and tick killers to kill well fleas and ticks but also works on other bugs as well. It is a pretty red daisy with a yellow face. Time to start putting in a few small flower gardens around your camper and shed. But keep the goats away from it.

Kyle request a referral to a nutritionist they will be able to help you figure out what you can and can’t have. Also don’t let the Dr bully you. Make them listen to you. I’ve had to be my own advocate since I was a little kid and have learned that you have to make them listen. If it is what you think it is your Dr will probably send you to a specialist as well

So sorry to learn that you have this disease. It calls for an all out war on ticks. Please look into plants that ticks can be run out of areas with, then select the ones that you like the looks and smell of and surround your trailer and patio with them, giving you a safty zone. Of course you have to be aware of the goats and dogs, if they get along with them too, we don't want them eating them if they are bad for them. Just remember pork is considered a white meat and chicken makes a wonderful meal. And fish is great too. And get lots more chickens to get all the ticks that they can eat. No do not eat your chickens , they are part of your tick army. Buy your chicken at the grocery store. Don't forget the guineas that's another division of your army.

I forgot you can also spray your clothing with tick spray. You can also surround your goats and cages for chickens and guineas with these same plants.

As for those feedstorage tubes Waite till your raccoons learn how to open them jihad one and kept cat food in it. The raccoons unlocked the lid and turned it off. Then carried the container off .I just found it last year after three years. They also know how to pop the pull tabs they now put on food cans.

I feel for you. It’s not easy to change your lifestyle with eating habits. I recently changed mine to support my husband with his diabetes. We went Keto and I sure miss my bread and potatoes, but keeping him alive without harming other parts of his body is the most important thing. I will continue to remember you in my prayers.

I have no end of allergies the worst has altered my life, I had the first vaccine it was fine, the 2nd has affected me really bad I keep going lightheaded, I have memory issues, my anxiety is really bad, i cant work because im terrified of passing out, outdoors, it's horrible I wish there was a cure. There's things I used to do and can't anymore. Im 64 and would like to work but sadly I can't. I have passed out twice once outside and hit my head on a plant pot but am fortunate I didn't cut my head, but the dent is still in the plant pot, I fainted in my living room too just missed my coffee table. Xx
