Although the newer death screens are less creepy, I can agree the older ones look the creepiest as they were just a low quality face decal and are pretty terrifying to look at for a long time.

The creepy thing is, the game over screens are the pov of wander's corpse. The colossi just stand there and look at his corpse, waiting for him to get back up.

it's actually nearly impossible to die by Phalanx without killing yourself, it's extremely docile.

It's the forward facing eyes, the long face, and the creepy mandibles. Dirge's fight is alright but I would pay him to never look at me like that again.

Sony made Dirge even uglier in the 4k versions(PS5 & PS4) than he ALREADY WAS! To make matters worse, they gave him a split jaw not only to mock you(and Halo's Elites), it also made Dirge a lot more grotesque. Fitting, because Dirge was the MOST HATED COLOSSUS in the entire game!
