Sorry, I tried this and while it does work and setting were changed, it didn't actually make a difference at all. Cinema Home and FMM are still much brighter color brightness, even tho the settings appear to be the same.
Same settings, Cinema Home and Vivid mode are the brightest, that's how LG decided it to be, we can't change that. However, we can eliminate all dimming other than ABL and get Peak Brightness High on Game Optimizer mode on SDR and even brighter than that Module HDR ON on SDR
I have LG c1 TV but ColorControl says ''it seems there's no LG TV avaliable! make sure its connected to the same network as this PC. '' can you help ??
I had this app since the first day I purchased my C3 LG OLED that had been working in shop mode. I used the app to access the service menu for the sole purpose of finding out how many on-hours my unit had (as only customers on US based firmware can view this information directly in the "about TV/information" menu) and yes, I saw a ton of other useful options for the random LG OLED TV owner.
Just tried this on my C1 48', looks way better! The only issue i noticed is the ABL appears more aggressive. Maybe that's why they greyed out the setting? But then that's a fault of their algorithm. Hopefully the G3 patch will come to C1,C2 owners. Overall I recommend turning this on, Thanks Plasma!
In this video, I'm talking about SDR. But I recommend this video to understand HDR gaming settings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P-eq1jedgIs.html
Dude thank you so muuuuuch! I bought the LG C3 and I was honestly dissapointed in a lot of ways, the most important one was brightness, a cheapass 1080p TV I had was brighter than the C3, after this I can finally get an acceptable brightness that actually makes the image impactful and impressive, I also use Black Stabilizer on 14, it helps the image to appear brighter (even tho it isn't) and at 14 it doesn't affect colors that much.
On My LG G3, Best Ps3/Xbox360 (sdr game) settings: Filmmaker mode + 4:4:4 pass trough on!(this is important for low latency) + Peek Brightnes High. Very very bright and accurate picture with low latency
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 do you know if I can install/enable one out of vrr g-sync freesync on LG a2? because i cant even connect tv to color control, i did everything i could with network settings and put my ip and mac address manually as well, but I wanna know if its possible to enable those settings.
I'll tell you more, this application even works for regular TV applications)) You just turn on any application you want, for example, Netflix in Dolby Vision, you change the setting on the PC and it will change it))
Does this work in HDR and on built in apps? I've got the G3 and feel like Dolby vision in movies is a bit dark. Would like to adjust gamma, but the setting is greyed out
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Alright, I also use a Shield TV, do you think adjusting the gamma in HDR is possible? I've also got a Philips Oled 707, on that TV I'm able to raise or lower gamma without affecting black levels. I just wish LG had a simular setting, the "black level" setting isn't even close. So in some content, my Philips is alot brighter than the G3, except for bright highlights of course.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Dude, just tried it on my Nvidia Shield, and it worked like a charm!! Everything is brighter, and dark details are restored, and blacks are still deep. Thank you so much for this video!
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 After I lowered the gamma on HDMI 1, i was able to apply it to all inputs. So it even works with the built in apps. Everything is so much brighter now.
First of all, congratulations on the content! I just bought an LG C4 to use with the Xbox Series X, what settings do you recommend to get the best image and brightest? I'm still unsure whether the best image is playing in HDR or Dolby Vision, I have the idea that Dolby Vision tends to darken the image a little more compared to HDR, at least in Call of Duty Warzone.
@@pedro_ferreirinhahey man,ive got a c3 and ive been researching how to get the best picture for console, what i have found has helped me and i hope this helps you: Switch off VRR on your console. Make sure ALLM is switched on,this will make the tv have the same input lag as game optimiser,so you wont be using game optimiser. Use filmmaker mode: Oled pixel 100. Contrast 100. Colour 55 or whatever you want. Black level 49 or 52 depends on the game. Colur gamut auto, native causes input lag. DTM on ,or force HGIG through color control app, which will make you have less input lag,but if cant do that then DTM is fine. Re adjust HDR on your console after doing these settings. Im not sure about XBox coz i have a pS5 but it should work the same. You van also have HDR always on with DTM ALLM anD FMM,this will add even more brightness and Warzone looks good on my end. Ive forced HGIG with color control app so my settings are..... HGIG you get to keep the extra 100 nits that come with DTM,but VRR needs to be off. ALLM Film Maker Mode Oled pixel 100 Contrast 100 Colour 55 Black level 49 Colour gamut auto Warm 50 Try these settings, maybe it can help 👍
@@Armzed1 thanks for your sharing! If you select Film Maker Mode in the Tv, you'll be out of the "Game Mode", and the input lag will be higher (I think).
I think your tutorial is very useful, because i noticed this restriction and the low sdr brightness of the C2 right away too and definetly wanted to change it. But it could be, not necessarily but possibly, it could be dangerous to play with this setting. To me the most likely reason LG turned this off / greyed out peak brightness for game mode is the risk for burn in or permanent burn in. I know, the HUD in gaming scenario also applies for other dashboards in dozens of apps like youtube for example, or external tv boxes and so on. There are various examples for that. But my guess is there are some parameters or functions like input lag, reactiveness or the different ABL handling e.g. in game mode which could influence the longivity of the C2 OLED panel in a different way. This is at least what i assume. The reason i'm mentioning it is that after about 8 month of usage i already have beginning signs of burn in right after turning on my xbox, remaining for not quite 10-20 seconds on the dashboard an then switching to the settings section with the grey background and hello, here it is already. I was using high peak brightness on this specific hdmi input and console for less than 3 months i guess, this very infrequently. I just would like to call attention to be careful with this option. There must be a reason for LG's decision to turn it off, although i do not approve this kind of restriction either, especially if it has been enabled in the previous model, which i do have also and so far did not had any issues with it. Maybe it is not such a bad idea to leave it as it is if it does NOT bother your that much. To be honest it did in my case, it is not bright enough for me in SDR without this setting.
Same risk as using HDR where peak brightness is high all the time. I also disable TPC and GSR to prevent any dimming other than ABL, that will definitely increase the risk of burnt-in but I wouldn't like the TV if those options were not available
Is there any possibility, when I'm inside the Netflix application watching a series, to access my secret and increase the brightness? This is because when watching Netflix the TV is not connected to any HDMI.
This is great dude! Thanks a lot. And by the way, do you think that LG could maybe change his mind and come back with BFI working at 120Hz, with a future firmware upgrade, or it just seems impossible?
It's not possible to fix it with a firmware update because it requires hardware to do the 240Hz PWM. Otherwise, I would do a tutorial on how to change any LG into any LG by completely hacking the software and installing the corresponding firmware, which is possible to do.
I dont understand the need to get brightness more and more, i just dot get it. Maybe is my eyes, maybe is my stupid LG TV or maybe is my stupid Xbox Series. When i play Forza Motorsport 8 or Horizon 5 and i am against the Sun, i can't see the road, is to bright.
After you get perfect blacks the brighter the better. Not to mention that brightness can be used to get better Motion clarity by reducing the persistence
On my C2 42 I connected my xbox and it auto detected and set up as such - Under game optimizer I have a menu called "OLED Motion" which is OFF and greyed out - How can I change this - I tried the app for Oled motion pro and motion pro and neither changes it so it must be something else? Thanks I would love an uptodate video for C2 best settings for XBOX... However, seems have to do it for each mode such as standard, HDR and Dolby...
can someone help me. for some shit reason, my tv does not want to connect. i keep getting "error execting action: not connected" my tv did not connect automatically even theough they are on the same network. so i tried manually adding abut it still doesnt connect.
I can change the gamut on my G2 in gaming mode. All I need is TruMotion to be enabled in gaming mode. Btw. peak brightness is set on high without PC by disabling VRR and ALLM. Enabling them again keeps the setting.
Burnt-in can happen, and maxing out the brightness increases the chance, but it has to be abused for that to happen. If you play the same game a lot and it has HUD or other static elements on screen, it will Burnt-in regardless of the brightness you use
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 almost ever game ever made has some sort of static hud or screen element it did last a year haha bought the screen protection from microcenter and when the screen got damaged from burnin they said we dont cover that haha paid 200 for the extra protection that dosent protect well it did last a year and not really visable unless you have solid colors in the backgroun like yellow green and especially things clost to orange and red.
Great application. I've used it to force hdmi input icons to change into PC mode. For some reason, using an AVR caused me to be unable to change an HDMI 2 on my G1. That, paired with forcing changes to greyed out options like color gamut and peak brightness, massively useful. Taking advantage of High Peak Brightness for SDR gaming on my PC will be much more enjoyable, and can put the heatsink on my EVO panel to good use haha.
Guess I don't understand. Can I turn on peak brightness and change color gamut with just a service remote? Playing on ps5 or xbox without a PC I'm not sure how to download that app.
My C3's screen is auto dimming. The brightnes goes down, then comes back up, same light in room, even while playing games, nothing stationary on the screen. Should I buy the service remote ?! Or can I fix it from the Colorcontrol app? In the service menu I have to set the TCP and GSR to OFF using the service remote to yo disable the auto dimming.
Only time my C1 has peak brightness unlocked is in Dolby Vision an for me Dolby Vision doesn’t look that great for games or maybe I just need to play around with the setting
Gave up on laptop tried pc worked instantly. Peak brightness high on g2 game mode now looks brighter then my c9 finally. Might play around with high contrast to high, it was locked on g2 unlike c9 but after using contrast 100 and dynamic locked, day time scheme armt as effected by abl and blacks too dark in a real life scene should be that dark, but may play around with it too.
Do i need to do this for all 4 ports and in sdr and hdr? You cover topcs the msinstream tv youtubers miss. Finally got peak brightness high on my g2. Still tempted to do auto contrast on high bevause thats the pop i loved on my c9 but in g2 all is locked. Feel sager running maxed on g2 even thow its brighter the evo and hearsink will keep it bullet proof and dont need service menue woth new update. I think. Like a little sagtey there.

They changed where it is. I'll tell you when I get back home and can turn on my PC. I don't remember now. I believe I posted a guide on a community post with pictures showing where it is now
You are the reason I just bought the G4 instead of the A95L. I wasn't sure about SDR brightness because of this 🖕 to all gamers from LG. It works and I love it 😊 Thanks!!
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 yeah, the dimming is one of the reasons I didn't want the A95L. You're the best. I went from plasma to OLED and completely skipped LED 😎
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 tyvm. I was thinking to buy lg C3 and ABL was my main concern. Now im more relaxed with my decision ! :) you are awesome! Subbed!
Hm, the app says it can't connect (but it detects my TV). Might be because I'm using my VPN? I'll try again after work (which is what I'm using the VPN for).
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 Ah, I bet that's the issue. My PC is connected via Ethernet cable while my TV is connected via WiFi. Fortunately my PC also has a WiFi receiver, so I can try switching to that.
I can't change the peak brightness for other HDMI inputs. Worked no problem for my PC on HDMI1 but when I select HDMI3 and HDMI4 then change the setting...nothing happens. Trying to do it for my Switch and PS5.
Do this, select the HDMI where the console is, then place the mouse on top of the Peak brightness Hight on the Colorcontrol app, then Change the HDMI input on thr TV and after the console is displaying the picture click the mouse for the Change to happen
Will this be the same on the LG C3 ? Not bought it yet , just looking into pros and cons , I've read many places that game mode is very dim and washed out!
The G3 is the best WRGB OLED on a completely dark room. I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't have 120bfi plus I don't like what they did to the screen (raised blacks under lighting conditions)
Absolutely. For console gaming get an S90C or S95C to play with low latency motion interpolation and get 120fps out of 60 or even 30fps. Only get a QDOLED like the S95C if you're on a completely dark Room, otherwise get a C1/G1 of available (to get 120bfi) or C2/G2 (if C1/G1 isn't available, just because C2/G2 don't support 120bfi).
Hi. Another good vidéo ! Do you know how to downgrade the firmware version? The last .80 is realy bad for me in the trumotion segment. The .70 was the best in my opinion.
I don't see any problem with motion interpolation or BFI with this last firmware. But yes, you can download the firmware to a USB drive and use the colorcontrol app to install it
After trying color control app all I did was adgust the gamma for re4 remake on the ps5 and noticed the frames have looked like they are skipping. I dont know how to fix that 🤷♂️ Hasnt happend to me before on my second playthrough.
I'm on a C2 and on game optimiser the peak brightness setting is indeed locked but it is on High! Not sure if it's due to the firmware version or something else.
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 My mistake. In game optimiser SDR it's locked on off. But in HDR it's locked on high. I hadn't realised this until now thanks for this video!
Duuuuuude! You're kidding me, I had no idea. This does make OLED motion pro "high" more viable on console. I still notice the flickering but it helps with the brightness. I always thought it was just the output of the PS4 was inherently darker than the signal coming out of my PC. Since I don't want my TV to be constantly connected online, I like the fact that you can set peak brightness high, disconnect wifi & forget it. Mucho gracias sir.
How did you manage it to work? The colorcontrol app works perfectly on my pc (even turning tv on and off when pc start/stutdown.) But if I choose another hdmi port - there is nothing changes. Wherever port I choose, it make changes on port which my pc is connected to.
@@victorfit_x I had my mouse cursor on the colorapp menu ready to click "High" on peak brightness. Then while having my console on, I switched the source/input to my console. Then click on the mouse (I can't see the PC screen at this point) but I knew it worked because every time I clicked, it would toggle from high & off, and I noticed the screen difference live.
The burning question from AVS forums. What about COLOR Boost from G3 can be opened via colorcontrol in game mode ? Most retarded thing LG did since 3 years..
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 thanks for quicky reply brother. It is extremely important to us that are still considering G3 or not. Assuming LG wont fix it, its night and day difference. So looking foward to it :)
When it comes to peak brightness locked on Game Optimizer mode, it's just a middle finger to gamers. They want to reduce the risk of burning with games. The rest of the settings, it's just the Apple mentality believing that most customers are dumb and it's better to give them fewer options to mess
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 That actually makes sense. Such a pity and kind of frustrating, because it feels like being a toddler who can't be trusted to be responsible with the fucking TV he bought. Anyway, thanks for the quick reply, brother!
I just purchased lg c2 a month ago and i am facing way too low brightness can you make a video to get highest possible brightness on my c2 i will be highly obliged if u can do that
You can try eliminating all dimming other than ABL by disabling TPC and GSR on the service menu at your own risk. I showed how to do that here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5rw2UM8_404.html
I'll tell you a secret, if the TV loses the HDMI signal, then you can change all these settings while the pictures are playing for you, and when you reconnect the HDMI port, these settings are saved))), but you won't be able to raise the peak brightness for the game mode, although in other modes you can
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 this also works when you are on the Input Screen on the LG where you can see the Screen of your current Input alongside other settings outside of your PC or Console then you click for example on Xbox to turn on HDR or Dolby Vision, you can adjust the settings while the Screen Turns black for a few seconds lol
It doesn't work even if you overhaul the software entirely to be a C1 (which I learned how to do). Because it requires a scan ON scan OFF hardware to do 240Hz PWM
Interesting. Yes I learnt the hard way trying to force 120hz bfi on in the Color Control ap to no avail (hardware limitations as you said). Which meant returning the c2 and picking up a refurbished g1 ha.
The options need to exist on the TV for them to work. For example, De-Blur doesn't exist in Game Optimizer mode, so trying to force it with the app won't work
@@plasmatvforgaming9648 got both tv and pc are hard wired . Windows 11 keeps telling me it’s incompatible app. The download windows stops it I override it. No, Peak brightness is set to High on HDR all the time and the TV is intended to be use like that. On top of that I remove TPC and GSR dimming. No issues so far
No, HDR is on BT2020 and it will get as saturated as the TV can when the content calls for it. SDR is on Rec709 and selecting Native (dcip3) won't be accurate but it might look better especially when you push more brightness than SDR should have. A wider color gamut can go along with higher brightness
For example - on the C2, I leave it on Auto and Color Depth 50 to see the creators intent and If I don't like that then I might bump Color Depth to 55 max, no more and I am talking about games here, usually a game with good HDR has the colors on point and also, with games, you don't need to be accurate everytime :) go crazy, the only problem you might have is color clipping

I have a LG B3 OLED TV and have been experiencing issues with auto dimming due to TPC and GSR. I bought a service remote to access the service menu, but apparently LG has now locked out access to the TPC and GSR sections in the service menu. So EVEN WITH A SERVICE REMOTE, I am unable to turn off TPC and GSR. Is using Color Control App going to be any different? Or has this new update LG has done on TVs like mine (B3 OLED) blocked access to TPC and GSR even in Color Control? Please help, I have been up for so many nights, trying to find a solution... Thanks!
Hey man, thanks for all the work you have done, ive been watching a lot of your videos and its been very helpful. I have a few questions if you can answer..... Shall i wait for 200 hours so the tv gets worked in,before i switch off tpc? There is an option for the icon brightness, now in the normal menus, does this.mean we dont have to touch GSR? I have an old laptop ,with windows 7 😄, would colour control app run on that or no chance? Ive been downloading 4k hdr ultra hd movies and running them with usb and media player, i just wish it was a little brighter, would turning tpc off make this brighter ? or is it the media player.
