I've been playing Pokemon since I was a child but the Battle frontier by far is probably one of the most hair pulling challenges I've ever faced.

Interesting strategy in the Palace, and I use the term loosely since you can't control what attacks you use. The Palace was the first place I tried for the Gold so I didn't ever have to come back to it lol. My Gold team for that was Swampert, Salamence, and Blissey. I cheesed my way through Tucker for the Gold with a Shedinja. None of his 'Mons have ANY attacks can touch that wretched little thing. I FINALLY finished the Tower for the Gold this morning with Salamence, Metagross, and Blissey. Brandon is one of the easier ones. His birds are all KO'd by anything with Rock Slide.

I used/using a variety of different 'Mons depending on what I think might work best against not just the particular Brain I hope to face but any general situation. It helps to devise a team of three that can cover each others' weaknesses. I just beat the Tower for the Gold this morning with Salamence, Metagross, and Blissey. 'Mence and 'Gross make a pretty good defensive duo by covering each others' weaknesses while Bliss stands in the way forever of the special attackers the other can't handle so well. Frustrating though it can be, don't be discouraged if you lose a streak even with what appears to be a solid team. Sometimes hax just happen. I was once completely swept from the start by a Rest-Talking Dewgong that knows Sheer Cold AND Horn Drill.

My first try with Noland for the silver symbol, he sent out that exact Wailord first and it swept me. Screw that Wailord. I hope all the bad things in the world happen to it and nothing else but it T_T

Just to give some insight into how intelligent the AI is at times, at 5:11, the AI determined that the only chance of winning would be to use earthquake because it's the move you'd expect least, so it could catch some people who try to switch a different pokemon out. Its full intention was to do that a couple times and then try to kill the last one with explosion. Battle frontier offers so much insight into competitive battling, which is to just go with whatever has the higher odds of success.

Uh, no that's not how the AI works. In Gen 3, It is unaware of Levitate until it sees it. It knows Earthquake deals the most damage between Rock Slide and Explosion, so it chooses Earthquake. After it sees Levitate, it would have picked randomly between Rock Slide and Explosion. Also, If it were under 25% HP, it would guaranteed pick Explosion.

I don't think it will even pick Explosion if down to their last Pokemon since unless you are down to your last too (which he wasn't, it was a Latias sweep), Lucy will just instantly lose using Explosion even if it KOs

@@lasmirandadennsivillia5048 He used a Choice Band (1.5x Attack, but it locks you to a single move) Ursaring for some of the fights, and it one-shot most things with that (Ursaring already has a great Attack stat). Also, "Bear" and "Care" rhyme fairly well, so... BEAR DON'T CARE.
