Friedberg needed to immerse himself into the conversation rather than interrupting all the time. It shows how hard it is to be a great moderator/interviewer.

Excellent interview. First time I actually have a glimpse at understanding quantum physics. Thanks to Friedberg’s diligent questions, I was able to follow Wolfram’s logic somewhat. Took lots of notes. Need another episode with this brilliant guest and interviewer combination, please.

Ok you guys need to bring him back and let him ramble on for 2 hours. I have always said, why be scientists when you could be wizards. All our technology is a human need to engage with the elements…this logic at its limit is humans directly manipulating their immediate surroundings….our understanding of “magic” is essentially ambient space-time computation. Steven you are a gem! We need to go a layer deep. Steven you are a gem!

Anyone feels how Stephen defines time and space is somewhat illustrated by the meditation/yoga lingo about our consciousness and how we are all connected, even if it’s not expressed in math/computational terms, ancient philosophers described the unbound network? Also, verbal expressions is only 1/10^6 of everything in between: amazing quantification of how limited language is. That’s why Buddhism acknowledged that by approaching the understanding of the universe through nonverbal ways. ❤ the sharing!!!

Wolfram is singular. Thanks for doing the interview. His notions of computational irreducibility are exceptionally interesting. Does anyone know if we've managed to verify or disprove his prediction for the speed of entanglement yet? I remember that being one of the few predictions that differed from existing knowledge that his new model could predict.

I can't stand it, every 8 seconds.. Disagree. Friedberg asked and interrupted just fine when stephen got too esoteric. For those of us that aren't as smart as you, wolfram seems to get carried away and forget the audience. Just because hes a genius doesnt equate to great communication skills. Plus, theyre having a conversation for gods sake, you dont just silently sit there and wait until theyre done speaking. Not in the real world anyways.
@epiderpski

@@moonbeam254it would have worked out better to setup a way to interview that would facilitate that, because it really does come across as rude.
