My belief is that the verse saying ,"all Israel shall be saved ", has happened and is happening, on going now because "all Israel" is both gentile christians and jewish christians. It is spirit belief in the heart and not ancestry/ethnicity.,race or color of skin .

Youre absolutely correct....countless verses, back that claim up...but theres another problem...romans 11:25 says israel has experienced a hardening in part, until the full number of the gentiles has come in, and this way, is how all israel will be saved....theres a footnote in my bible that referenced luke 21:24....anybody care to explain? @@natalielivella322 It doesn't say that all Israelis at some future period shall be saved together, but that all Israelis, period, shall be saved. There was almost 40 years of pharisees and scribes and all the 12 tribes being preached the gospel by the 12 apostles. Matias replaced judas...and Paul with some prophets were sent to the gentiles..all the apostles were killed before 70 ad..except john..and the remnant of israel that did believe were grafted back into christ then.before the wrath was poured on the city, the temple, and the people who rejected the gospel.....the former rain was poured out in jerusalem, and the latter rain shall be poured out in jerusalem..the final engathering will be the finishing of the body of christ..the fullness of the measure of the stature of the body of christ will be reached..when the times of the gentiles are fulfilled, and the temple of God will be measured, and all israel will be saved.. That temple is the body of christ built out of jews and gentiles by Gods hands.....the image of the beast will be built in Jerusalem by the rejectors of the gospel..the whole world that rejects the gospel will worship the image of the beast, among the other things listed..Jesus will return at the end.and give every man according to his work..in my opinion..Jesus is the resurection..not the state of israel. The temple of God is the Body of christ. Not a new temple in jerusalem..that is an image of what God already wounded to death. The old covenant has been finished and done away with..them raising it back to life is evil. And so many pastors are going back to that again now..thanks John piper for teaching the new covenant is the only covenant that saves eternally.

By HIS grace I am a Jewish believer. For my people, I thank John Piper for the courage of this talk. I took Precept's Romans course decades ago & although I learned much from hearing this talk now, the question I had decades ago taking this Roman's course, I still have now If the verse says ALL Israel will be saved, then I don't comprehend what relationship this has w/all the Jews who have died in previous generations It sounds as if in generations past a remnant was saved & at a further point a Jewish generation will be saved. (?) Sorry if name icon comes up 2x. Some sort of computer glitch we don't know how to fix.
@capturedquestsmusicstories7788
I take Ezekiel 37 literally in this regard. God will open their graves, raise them up from their graves, breathe his spirit into them, and bring them back to their own land. This means all Israelites who have died; as the text says, these bones are the whole house of Israel. I think Romans 11 reflects this promise.

@capturedquestsmusicstories7788 I am troubled that you believe this. Paul makes argument after argument proving that a Jew is one who is one inwardly, that it isn't a matter of the flesh. Faith not genetics.

All Israel will be saved because......only Israel is saved. If you are in Christ, you are THE seed of Abraham AND heir to THE promise. The inverse is true as well. Those not in Christ are not the children or heirs of the promise. Galatians 3:26-28. Only Israel will be saved because only the saved are TRULY Israel.

Good overall. However, we must ask if Christ will rebuild the middle-wall of separation and make salvation dependent on bloodline on the day of His Second Coming. Did Christ mean what he said in the parable of the virgins about they must be ready before He comes? There will be a resurrection of the dead on the day of His Second Coming and it will include those who pierced Him. However, only those who have accepted Him previously will be saved. If we want the Jewish people to be saved, they need to hear the Gospel now. Please help organizations like Jews for Jesus, who are taking the Gospel to the Jewish people, now.

I don't think preaching that there is a jewish remnant that will be saved is against the gospel. It is established by the Abrahamic covenant which is fulfilled through Christ. The point is the promise belongs to both the natural seed of Abraham who are of faith and the Gentiles who are of faith, However the fullness of salvation to both groups to complete the olive tree and fulfill all Gods promise occur in different stages. so its 1sts the roots ( patriarchs and all old testament saints), the partial hardening of the jews leading to the ingathering of the Gentiles until their fullness, and a few of the elect jews in the minority, Then finally a completion of salvation at the end by the full ingathering of the elect Jews to complete the fullness of the tree, which is the "144000" and the sand of the sea, stars in sky which is innumerable. this does not invalidate the present need for evangelism since there is a in the present a minority of the Elect of jews still being saved, however the fullness of it awaits the end.

For it is by His grace we are rescued, through faith; and this is not of yourselves, but it is the gift of Elohim. (when opened). 9. Not of works, or else anyone glory (in themselves). 10. For we are His creation who are created in Y'shua the Mashiyach for good works which Elohim has before prepared for us to walk in. 11. Wherefore be mindful that you formerly were carnal Gentiles; and you were called the uncircumcision by that which is called the circumcision of which is the work of the hands in the flesh. 12. And you were, at that time, without the Mashiyach; and were aliens from the Devarim of Israel; and strangers to the covenant of the promise; and were without hope and without Elohim in the world. 13. But now, by Y'shua the Mashiyach, you who before were afar off, have been brought near by the Blood of the Mashiyach. 14. He is Himself our peace, who has made the two (become) ONE

The Olive Tree is a symbol of the New Covenant Church made up of Israelites and Gentiles grafted together into one tree. Some have changed the word "so" in Romans 11:26, which is an adverb of manner, into the word "then", which is an adverb of timing, in order to make John Darby's doctrine work. All of the Israelites were not "partially" blinded. Some were blinded and some were not. Paul confirms this in Romans 11:1. There are two groups of "they" in the passage. There were "they" who were the enemy of the Gospel and there was another group of "they" who were the election and accepted Christ. Paul started the passage with two groups of Israelites. There were the Israelites who worshipped Baal and there was a remnant of 7,000 Israelites who followed God. Paul ended the passage in the same way with two groups of "they". Some have taken the New Covenant confirmed by the Blood of Christ at Calvary (Matthew 26:28) found in Romans 11:27, and have changed it into a covenant to be fulfilled with the modern State of Israel in the future. Based on Matthew 3:9 and 1 Timothy 1:4 genealogy is not a factor in the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled in Hebrews 8:6-13, and is specifically applied to the Church in Hebrews 12:18-24, and 2 Corinthians 3:6-8. Nobody will be saved based on their DNA at any time in the future. We find in 1 John 2:22-23 that salvation depends only on a relationship with God's Son. The good news is that through organizations like "ONE FOR ISRAEL" and others thousands of modern Jews are coming to understand that the New Testament is about the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34. The timeline of the Messiah's arrival is found in Daniel chapter 9. Many have now come to understand that "the suffering servant" of Isaiah chapter 53 is the baby born in a manger, whose sacrifice for us will be celebrated this week by believers around the world. The Elect remnant of Jews of our time, will be a part of this celebration. He built us a New House out of two pieces of wood and a handful of nails. Praise God and His Son.

Brother Lindstrom, I agree with the text you quoted. I don't think Pr. Piper or myself are advocating a salvation apart from faith in Christ. Rather just as on the day Christ died and the shaking of the heavens saw people who beheld him on the cross come to a conviction of faith in him as the true messiah and Savior (Matt 27:54, John 19:34-37 so it shall be on the last day, that a large number of Israel beholding Christ coming to save them in answer to their prayer for deliverance from antichrist and his forces will (Rev. 16:13-16,17:12-14, 19:19-20) will turn to Him in faith thus they will literally look in faith upon him whom they once rejected who was also pierced by their forefathers ( John 19:34-37). Also their salvation will not lead them to become another nation separate from Christians, no there will be one flock, one house of God in that day. hence Christ will indeed be seen as the one who has come to made peace between jew and Gentile and united them in his body, the Church. So teaching the salvation of jews on the last day is not an erection of the old covenant wall like some say, but a consummation of the mystery that the gentiles are fellow members and citizens of the house and kingdom of God together with the jews.

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir...I believe, that "All Israel WILL be Saved"; when one describes the word "Saved". For, my dad was saved of being bit by a snake. And my wife saved money; by being a member of "Costco"! Etc! Also, that word could be: ALL Israel's were "saved"; from many nations that made War to them. However, IF you mean being "saved" from going to "Hell" on "Judgment Day"; that would be "Salvation"! So, IF your Title, is talking about Salvation; all true Israel's, WILL be saved from Hell. But sadly, the normal word Israelites (and Jews); and MOST of them WILL go to hell. Because... MOST of Abraham's "descendants"; were NOT God's "chosen". Because they did not believe IN the true God of Creation. Not to mention obeying the laws either. So, they became "Abominable Sinners", over millennium's right to this day. Sad again! Thus, a wise Christian, will read what Paul, says what a true "Israelite or a Jew" is! in...Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Jesus', then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. So I believe, that upwards of 90%; WILL NOT be true Israelites (or Jews). And Jesus WILL cast them into the "Burning Lake of Fire" (hell). However, untold "non' Abraham's descendants; ARE true Israelites, forever! Because "we" believe IN Jesus (who is the only True God, there will ever be!). Because, we ARE the true "Jews", since Jesus preached 2,000 yrs ago. And the Salvation, goes back to Creation. Because we ARE also; the true "New Israel 12 Tribes"; in the book of Revelation 7. Praise Jesus' Holy Name. End of Story, so I rest me case... ...in any case kind Sir and Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

You are correct. On the day of Pentecost Peter addressed the crowd as "all the house of Israel", in Acts 2:36. Paul considered himself an "Israelite", even after his conversion, and talked about the faithful "remnant" of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5. James addressed his letter to "the twelve tribes", who were his "brethren" in the "faith". Based on the above, faithful Israel and the Church cannot be separated. Some modern Christians cannot tell the difference between the Baal worshipers, and the faithful "remnant" of Romans 11:1-5. The ultimate fulfillment of Israel is found in Matthew 1:1, as confirmed by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 3:16. He is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15, and the seed of Abraham promised in Genesis 12:3. In Luke 24:25-27 the risen Savior reveals that the Old Testament is about Him. .

@@johncollins6755 Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ? (Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30) The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations? 1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? 2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ? 3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds? 4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh? 5. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers? 6. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"? 7. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost? 8. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.) 9. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) 10. Watch the RU-vid video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.) What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth? Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and Hebrews 8:6-13? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church?

I agree in large part with John's teaching on the text and " so all Israel will be saved" However the idea that it will be saved as a nation is not clear to me. is he referring to them being saved as nation to be like in the time of the theocracy? I think you can teach that all Israel will be saved with respect to the fullness of the Elect of those in Judaism being saved without looking at it as a national salvation. Does it mean its leaders will acknowledge Jesus? What may lean in that direction could be it denouncing Judaism, changing its view of Jesus, and something of a revival nation wide. But to talk about salvation of a nation is ambiguous and seems less plausible.

But I do wonder what the meaning of the last three verses he referenced are. Zechariah 12:10 Isiah 66:8 Matthew 23:9 And btw, he misquoted Matthew 23:37. James White points out how MANY Arminians/Synergists misquote this verse and I've found that those who hold to this view (the one Piper argued for in this sermon) also misquote it in the same way Arminians do.

Pay attention. Paul was not talking about today's so called Israel in Romans 9 to 11. It did not exist in Paul's day. Paul was talking about the House of Israel that God had divorced and sent into captivity 700 years before.

The concept of "all Israel" is simply a continuation of Paul's building argument in the previous 10 chapters involving the "children of the promise," the "children of Abraham," those "chosen by grace," the "elect of God," those who are made righteous by faith, the "Sons of God", etc...so that by the time you get to Romans 11:25-26 it is obvious that the salvation of all ethnic Israel is NOT what Paul meant by "all Israel." And to take John's point one step further, not only is a dual covenant theology...and by extension the non-evangelization of Jews...anti-Semitic, it is ANTI-Christ. The very nation-state of "Israel" that dispensationalists revere is the very embodiment of Antichrist.

I totally agree with you brother that it refers to the resurrection of the dead. A study of the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead throughout the old testament ,(Job 19:25-27, Dan 12:2) Jesus's own teaching ( John 5:25-29,6:39-40,44,11:24 and Paul in 1 Thess 4:16-17, 1 Cor. 15:22-24) show that it will occur on the last day, the day of Jesus Second Coming, Hence although he did not comment on that verse, he leans on the completion of the salvation of Jewish Elect to occur at the coming of Jesus as indicated by verses in Zech , 12:1-14,13:1-9,14:1-4 and other parts of the bible even Revelations 6. 12-17,7:1-8). He is closer to believing it only thing is if he has dispensational tendencies it will be difficult to reconcile it with the second coming of Christ.

Every day there are new jewish people that are coming to Jesus for the first time and saying,"blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord".Why do so many think it will be this explosive jewish as corporate coming to Christ in unison in the future? The end of days will be like the days of Noah ,says Christ .In otherwords,it will be a NORMAL day of people marrying and given in marriage. And in this bland normalcy,BOOM , suddenly he is here .

Romans KJV Chapter 9 6:26 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he waits to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runner, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture faith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardener. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why has thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As he waits also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. The nation of Israel we see today is not the Israel of God written about in Galatians 6:15-16, which says, For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. . Compare These Verses of Scripture from the Old Testament and the New Testament. In the Old Testament in Exodus 19:5-6, God told Moses to say unto the children of Israel, Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. We know that later on God rejected OT Israel for not keeping his covenant. Jesus said to the rulers of the nation of Israel of that day in Matthew 21:43. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a NATION bringing forth the fruits thereof. What other nation was Jesus talking about? in the New Testament Peter while writing to Christians in 1st Peter 2:9-10 wrote. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an HOLY NATION, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Is not this the same promise that was given to Old Testament Israel? The nation of Israel we see today is not the Israel of God, Those who are in Jesus Christ are. It is written in Galatians 3:16, Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. If you are in Christ, you are the Israel of God. Then we have verses in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9, and many other scriptures that prove that He is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh, But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God which is written in Romans 2:28 and 29. Who are God's chosen people? Read Revelation 3:9 and 10 and answer these 2 questions. Who are the people who say they are Jews and are not and who are the people Jesus loves and whom he considers to be the true Jews? (rev 2:9 and 3:9) Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Rev 3:10 Because thou (the true jews whom Jesus loves in the previous verse) hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Are The people whom Jesus loves written in Rev. 3:9 the same group of people Jesus is addressing in Rev. 3:10 (The church of Philidelphia/Christians)? he is not a Jew which is one outwardly in the flesh, but inwardly. Born of the Holy spirit of God. The Israeli flag (star of David?) Amo_5:26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves. Act_7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. Last Days Israel (so called) Rev_11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Well you're obviously wrong Mr Piper, for all Israel as a nation is not saved now, and never has been. You don't have any right to interpret the noun phrase "all Israel" as "all Israel at some time in the future". "All Israel" means "all those of Israel, whenever they exist". That is its default meaning. Similarly, if the bible said that all English people will be saved, you wouldn't take that to mean all English people at some time in the future, but all English people, period. Further, it is logically silly to suggest that if you're living in Israel at the right time in the future, you get the lottery card which gets you saved, but all the schmucks who lived up to that point miss out, or at least they only get the regular salvation deal. This is ridiculous: God is no respecter of persons Mr Piper. You are idolising the flesh. And you are submitting the identity and intrinsic value of the individual to the collective, as if God were a numbers man. Calvary pays no attention to any collective Mr. Piper, nor does it pay any attention to familial lines. The Cross of Christ is ethnically indiscriminate: it is about salvation from sin at the individual level, and nothing else besides. Accordingly, Jesus said: "the flesh profiteth nothing". Wrapping your argument in lovey-dovey speech, doesn't make it spiritual. Your doctrine is carnal, and frankly, silly on many levels. It is also inherently indeterminate: who would ever be able to say that all Israel was saved? Who would count them? Who would care? We preach Christ and Him crucified. Not Christ, Him crucified, and Israel.
@andinda7915
@andinda7915 3 года назад
You really summarized it well, salvation is only through Christ. I think God will continue to reach out to the Israelites as he does with every other people, but I do not think there is any favoritism for them especially in the New Testament., it would not seem to be consistent with the perfect unconditional loving nature of God.
@lawrence1318
@lawrence1318 3 года назад
@@andinda7915 Yes, this is true. The elect of God are not delimited according to the flesh or ancestry. Basically, if your doctrine can't be found in the Cross of Christ, it is not in Christ. The Cross of Christ pays no regard to familial lines, race, colour, background.

He never really explained the phrase in Romans 11:26, "and in this way..." other than to say that it is a strange way (22:29). Hardening of Israel and the ingathering of Gentiles because of that hardening is a "strange way" how God will save "all Israel" and Piper doesn't seem to know how. How does Jewish hardening + Gentile inclusion save "all Israel"? In other words, if Piper's interpretation is to be taken as correct, then how will Gentile inclusion into God's family save national Israel? Simple question, and Piper's interpretation fails because of the inability to answer this question.

Jerriton Brewin so can you explain this?Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. (‭Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭7-8‬ KJV)
@jbtheonex
@jbtheonex 6 лет назад
357 Trent, It makes sense only if "all Israel" means "Jew+Gentile" in categorical terms. Paul explains how that happens: Jews are hardened and hence salvation goes to the Gentiles. The Gentiles enter the olive tree (Israel) as some branches (Jews) are broken off. This leads to Jewish jealousy which, in turn, leads to conversion of some Jews and their ingrafting back into the olive tree again. Now the olive tree, which originally had only Jewish branches, also has Gentile branches. That's how Jewish hardening and Gentile inclusion leads to the salvation of "all Israel."
@357trent
@357trent 6 лет назад
Jerriton Brewin you still didn't address the passage. Those children of the flesh are not the children of God only the children of the promise are counted. Who is the promise of? Galatians 3. To Abraham and his seed were the promises made. Not to seeds as of many but of one and that seed is Christ. So those of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham
@jbtheonex
@jbtheonex 6 лет назад
The promise was made to the Seed (Christ), and as a result, to all those who are incorporated into Christ (through faith), both Jew and Gentile.
@357trent
@357trent 6 лет назад
Jerriton Brewin yes and that is who those promises were made to not the fleshy people called the Jews. The Jew that God likes is whoever has a circumcised heart and phillipians 3 says whoever rejoices in Christ Jesus is the true circumcision. And what is someone called when they have a circumcised heart? For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (‭Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭28-29‬ KJV) So the children of the flesh are NOT the children of God. They are not Gods people it is clear. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ KJV)

He is himself our peace, who has made the two (become) one, and has demolished the syaga (wall) which stood in the midst, and the enmity, by his flesh. 15. And in his flesh (the) enmity and regulations of commands(contained) in his commandments are abolished that in himself he might make the two into one, establishing peace. 16.
