I'm one of the wierd ones that loves going on expeditions to spend an hour or more taking in the sights gathering mushrooms and dung and such. And cooking raw meat. Pretending I'm camping
I like the relaxed tempo of just gathering items for bounties as I listen to a podcast. Reminds me of laid back old school MMO farming. Relaxes the noggin'.
Yeah I'm so much concerned about the screamer pods themselves but the screamer sacs so I can craft on the go including the 3 pods you can carry. Specially for that tempered black diablos
Yeah, but only those in the bottom, like the fishing rod and net for example, but the whetstone. It's not possible to hide everything you want actually. I'd like to hide items I have already in the radial menu.
@@gabrieloliveiradossantos9813 Oh please, they need to do that at some point. Being able to hide items that you set up in your radial menu would be great.
I want to dispute the rumour that you can't sustian ancient potions. You can actually meld these rather easily at the elder melder for 100 pts. I have have around 200 atm just from melding surplus event tickets.
*Two fixes: With Energy Drink I meant to say Recovery SPEED, and apparently dung pods are now farmable. Thanks!* **Join the 9999 Binoculars Club** ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q2BZf-0k8fk.html
I would like to note that stack limits weren't really mentioned here. (Wide-Range superfan here, so I know more about items than any healthy person should!) Max Potions for example are great and all, except you can carry 2 of them instead of Mega Potion's 10. A similar dichotomy comes up with Antidotes and Herbal Medicine, you can carry 10 Antidote but only 5 Herbal Medicine. If you're a new player or are fighting a monster you're unfamiliar with, you're probably going to get poisoned more than 5 times or will need to heal more than twice. It's best to bring the "basic" items like the Antidotes or Mega Potions, that are just as good as their contemporaries if you have a breather, as well as the immediate use stuff. I would also like to note some other things: -As many people have pointed out Dung Pods are now farmable. It's also worth noting that Dung and Rolled Up Dung are still theoretically useful if for whatever reason you want to shoot maximum poop at the monster in question. -ALWAYS use Nourishing Extracts to make Mega Demondrugs/Armorskins, never waste them on Ancient Potions! Immunisers might be a bit costly but they are never as rare as Nourishing Extracts will be. -What a lot of people don't know about Immuniser is that it lasts FIVE whole minutes! It's definitely the most underrated survivability buff in the game, you can just chug it at the start of a fight and you'll have a little extra health to work with. This is distinct from Astera Jerky, which has a buff that only lasts for a single minute. However, Astera Jerky does have a niche in that it immediately restores all current recoverable health, which against certain monsters like Lunastra can be an extremely effective heal. -"Flash pods are probably only going to be used by speedrunners" Okay, I admit I haven't played Iceborne, but... Really? Even if you only flash once, a free monster knockdown, out of the sky no less, plus a few seconds of the monster not aiming its attacks is ABSOLUTELY worth an item slot to carry around at all times. It's just that carrying a full stack of Flashbugs probably ain't gonna be a thing. -Smoke Bombs are a very niche and rarely-used item but TBH I think they're alright. The primary use of Smoke Bombs is to lose monster aggro for a second so you can get an easy heal in, or maybe a sharpen or something like that. -It's bizarre that you left off Mushroomancer effects because a lot of them are quite popular. Blue Mushrooms are a cheap inbetween from Mega/Max Potions, Mandragoras are Max Potions that you can stack to 10, Devil's Blight provides a better version of Dash Juice, and so on.
DarthVaderReviews you can carry the items to craft 5 more max potions so that's 7 plus if you really wanted to you could bring another 5 nutrients and honey and make another 5 max potions.
@@onearmedwolf6512 Yes, but IMO all that's a bit too much work for simple healing. For stuff like barrel bombs or bowgun ammo combat crafting pays off but in a situation like thisz I think it's more trouble than it's worth.
@@gabrieloliveiradossantos9813 No, Immuniser increases your "health recovery" speed temporarily. Whenever you take damage, a bit of your lost health is "recoverable" health that will regenerate on its own, right? Immuniser makes that recovery process faster for a few minutes.
I always look for guys like you when I watch a yt vid on mhw you guys give a bunch of other advice I didn’t know about and that isn’t gone over in the vid. Since it seems you didn’t have that much likes on your comment that must’ve taken a while to write I wanted to lyk that you didn’t waste your time and thanks for the advice 😁
I noticed you don't seem to use full farm buffs. You know you can have all types harvest up L and harvest speed up L constantly by topping up every 5 hunts with soft soil. Or is there a reason you don't use it?
Sushifish scale + can be used with wide range, it heals the same as a megapotion but it does it instantly, like a max potion. Those are pretty useful if u are going full support mode :)
there are a couple of runs when a team mate of mine smoke bombed me to prevent ANCIENT LESHEN and BEHEMOTH from aggro-ing me since I was the designated healer
Yea he has a habit of not having all the information when he makes an all review videos he didnt have all the charms either when he did his charm review video
@@rexhartman9707 He's also talking out of his ass. In all mH Games , even I G rank I've never heard anyone say that they "moved on " from mega potions. Max potions and ancient potions are just for emergencies. Even if you carry the max amount to re-craft them. It was just for facing Fatalis, Lao Shan Lung etc. What a bunch of bs.
Smokebombs are really nice for sharpening mid-fight. If you bring a weapon where you know you'll have to sharpen a lot, or use protective polish or something, then smokebombs are a really nice quality of life thing to be keeping next to your whetstone
Thanks for the video. I'm having a rough day but you're nice cadence is always pleasant to have ^_^ Very excited to watch you duke it out with Rajang shortly!
Best way to get nourishing extract is send your palicos on a high rank expedition to the vale when there's 2 Odogaron. They're a great source of nourishing extract and I get 2-6 per run. Argosy can have it sometimes too. For Kelbi horns just use a lbg a perform a melee attack, guaranteed horn drop.
But what about boomerangs and binoculars??? Also, I wonder if smoke bombs are useful for sharpening while fighting super aggressive monsters like Deviljho and Yian Garuga?
Binoculars = useful for spotting rare critters Smoke Bombs = yes very useful for sharpening, fast travel in a fight. Be careful as the monster will attack last positioned spotted. So drop one, move, drop another outside line of sight. Enjoy being a ninja 😂
Knight Slayer just beat the behemoth on MHW and have lost the will to keep playing and and am currently downloading Skyrim on my PS4. I had Skrim skrim for a while but I like to go back to it every now and then. There’s so much to do that in all my play through I never completed everything. My favorite thing is the thieves guild and my pickpocket and sneak are 100.
@@leebard9335 it comes back, lol. Just kidding. It does a very marginal ranged damage. Good for alerting a monster to your presence, but beyond that, not much. If you smack tails with a hammer, I believe you can throw a 'rang to sever it, as it deals cut damage. Never did blunt, so I don't know for sure.
you forgot to mention.. items like demon drug have a timer since iceborne.. because they'd be OP in the guiding lands otherwise. PS: i notice with the raider rider.. i rarely see poeple sharpen on them they usually do that before riding.. but it can really save time XD
Since when? My mega demon drug and Mega armor skin buff stays until I die...I've gone 30 minutes without dying and farming in the guiding lands and still have the buff
I slightly disagree with the sentiment regarding herbal medicine over herbal powder. At this point in the game with four botanical slots unlocked, I don't feel particularly worried about running out of godbugs any time soon. At the bare minimum though, even if you're just curing your own poison, throwing even a tiny bit of health out to the entire team can save a cart!
Imagine thinking 2 max potions is enough to last me more than like 3 minutes against any boss. I need all 10 mega potions, all 10 potions, both max and anything else I got smh xD
Also worth noting: I find that four slots of Botanical Research are enough to keep most items I need stocked, especially since Thick Bones are a more common drop, and since the melding list is expanded for certain items. I drop a demondrug and an armorskin for most regular hunts, and the Mega versions for elder dragons and harder events.
Here's a big tip if you farm the steam works regularly the steam works gives steam tickets which are used to make the clockwork armour sets however you get so many of them If you go to the elder melder these tickets are worth 50-100 melding points so use them to meld items you need as you dont need these tickets other than to make the armor .
I found Kelbi horns to be really easy to get if you just shoot sticky level 1 at a Kelbi. It just hits them and it drops on contact even without the explosion. This of course assumes a HBG is in use - just anytime you pass by one just wack em a bit and move on. For reference I'm using Nero's Blazooka, which isn't very high level comparatively.
Ancient Potion is nice to have if you have low stamina and Health while you fight Mostly used by Speedrunners with DBs Bow just to reset your health and stamina to full
"I can't sustain my ancient potions because they take monster materials." I want to challenge this assessment. Do you NOT use your tailraider teams to hunt Kelbi when you don't need other monster materials on a regular basis? That's a really easy passive way to get horns when you simply zero in on ANY sequence where there are Kelbi (whether it's low rank or master rank... you only ever get one tier of Kelbi material). The Argosy ships sent for materials can also get horns for you. Also, using an SnS shield bash combo on the head will easily knock out a shiny from any Kelbi, letting you take horns at a much higher rate. An occasional application of all of these is how I've been keeping up with my ancient potions (outside of NOT DYING). I will ALWAYS have an ancient potion at the ready for any hunt because it's effectively ONE MORE MAX POTION and a quick way to re-enter the fray after a carting when you can't eat again just yet.
Hmm 300 hours into the game and i just realised Astera Jerky gives Recovery Up and has a faster consume animation also that the Elder Melder is an option for Screamer Pods...NOICE 😏 Edit: Wait a minute Sushifish scales don't heal bleeding, did it get buffed in Ice Borne? Edit: Oh shit! Sushifish scales DO heal bleeding
Might pills are really only good if you are a wide range and you want to eat it when a monster is toppled so everyone can get a damage buff. The ideal setup is drink your demon drug, take your demon powder and then eat a might seed. Boom done.
I like ancient potion more than max because I can carry more and in longer battles I need the stamina back. Kelbi are super easy to farm, iron 1 bow Arch shot will break at least 1 sometimes 2 horns off a kelbi everytime.
Alternatively, one could adopt mushroomancer and never have to deal in potions of any type again. Can carry 10 mandragora which is essentially a max potion anyways, you can pluck it easily if you run out, you can grow them without having to use up multiple slots for components, and even when you start out you will have an advantage in blue mushrooms being everywhere, fast to eat, and instant to recover with. Sure you sacrifice gear slots, but it can be done alot earlier and more comfortably this way. Also doesn't clutter your inventory as much as carrying max pot components~
For Smoke Bomb, search stealth kill velkana. Hilarious useage of smoke bomb, velkana never gets agro. Always confused looking around, super easy to cluster bomb!
Tip for easy to remember atk+ and armor+ bluffs; 1 food, 1 drink, 1 powder (excluding mushroommancer). Did you eat a pill? It kicks the seed you ate. Did you drink a mdd? It kicks the dd. Helped me stop throwing things away when I started wide ranged builds. Upvote if you think this tip is helpful to let others see it too! Good luck hunters ;)
Mushroomancer Wide-Range builds are still the staple of my co-op sets. Being able to carry so a large number of mushrooms that each have the effects of the attack/defense drugs, Dash Juice, an instant potion, recovery up and x10 Max Potions is wonderful. There's Excite Shroom's randomized effect on the user itself too, but I'm a bit iffy on that one. Better to just use Mega Potions, Blight Seeds and Medicine Pills/Powders. Granted it does take up a lot of skill slots to run that sort of build, it's incredibly useful in party play and for solo gathering.
Nicholas Marquez even if they are a tiny addition because of diminishing returns since attack and defense are so high in Mr it's still an increase just for them being there
Falsifying Genesis it just sounds like you are agreeing with me. I’m saying that’s GE is saying some blasphemy for taking out the armor charm and talon. It’s extra 30 more defense and if you can’t make room for it then you need to make room for it
Ancient Potions are good for harder hunts. They can quickly give you max HP and stamina after fainting, so you don't have to wait to eat next meal. I usually keep Enegry Drink too. I use them instead of rations.
Wow.. What dedication, this video must have taken you a LOT of time to make and gather information. Great work as always. A little tip for Kelbi horns: you get 1 horn per kelbi if you hit it Witch a blunt weapon, fx, hammer, the slap with HBG, Shoulder push with GS, SnS shield attacks and so on. But i guess most of you know this.
Prepping for Iceborne PC and tinkering with loadouts. When you got to Flashpods/Flashbugs I decided to free up a slot by taking out my 10 flashbugs from my basic/generic loadout. Thanks!
Another Good Tip about getting Ancient and Max potions is actually Melding. max potion cost 30 melding points which easily can be gotten from trading in bones same with ancient potion they are a little more expensive which is 80 points but its far more economical to meld for max potions than to craft them and as long as you collect bones you will always be able to get alot of them
If you put a piece of raw meat on the ground, the screaming flyers will flock to the raw meat on the ground after a while, about 6-8 of them at a time. Then you can unload a wyvern blast on them and get some screamer pods! Though, I still find screamer pods more trouble than they are worth. Only somewhat useful for one monster and its reskinned variant. It's just not worth the mental trouble creating a separate item loadout just for the screamer pods whenever you want to hunt Diablos.
"The other nice thing about the rations is you can just go buy more rations" How are you going to say something like this and not follow up with HOW THE FUCK YOU BUY MORE RATIONS? H E L A C K S C R I T I C A L I N F O R M A T I O N
Loved the first video, helped me a lot to improve when I was kinda hitting a wall of how good I can be in the game! Skipped through this one too, great job! 👍
An ancient potion is not bad to take if you cart early and cannot eat so you can max your heath/stamina food bonus. Not mandatory because you can hit the tent to snag one quick but I carry one for speeds sake. Rarely need it but its nice to have on hand for those unlucky times. In multiplayer I run wide range lvl 5, free meal secret lvl 3, speed eating lvl 3, full inventory of buffs and health/status rec as needed and I always have my hunting horn. Barely use a stack of any one thing eating like mad all round, and I still get stuck in doing good damage.
need dash juice? steamworks (steam tickets which are virtually useless sell 1 for 1 at the melder). need ancient potions? no more kelbi horn farming in your future, use steamworks. need decos? guess what.. steamworks.
I mostly use my Tailraider Safari for Nourishing Extract. It's probably about the most useful thing they can bring back anyway. Just send them after the most Dodo's and Odo's with bonuses that you can. I have hundreds of Screamer Pods just because I always sending the Argosy for consumables.
I doubt newer players will read this but just in case. If u need to farm kelbi horns bring a hammer to wildspire waste. One smack wit a hammer on male or even female kelbi will drop a horn and sometimes even after they drop a horn carving will give a horn.
insta like this video because we learning everyday about the game (i got an idea makes an explanation's video for finch free with insect glaive, if you want of course ^^)
Might seed not sustainable? Theres a spawn of 2 each at the begining of camp 1 wastes, jist grab them every time your there and your good, thats what i did and i never ran out.
If you need 20 or 30 screamer pods just kill a barroth or kulu-ya-ku near the area of those flying wryens then put on a chillie mantel and wait for a few seconds after that all of those wyrens will land on the dead body of the monster. then kill them all in one shot
I dont know why people bother with the fishing rod, the net is faster and works just as well. See a pool of water? Cast a net in there and reap the rewards. Been doin that since release and I have plenty of whetfish + scales.
Slinger burst flash pod with sns is basically an oh shit button if u dont have anything else and the monster is about to attack u. It works everytime if u shoot it right in their face
I tryd sorting ammo so i don't have to search for the ammo i want in pre iceborne but they never get in the line i wanted them maby they add it with iceborne and for Kelby horn a mele hit with the bowgun and you get it without killing the gentile Kelbys
