ALL Ivy Supports Fire Emblem Engage

Once again, I’m alive, been a while since I did this kinda video. With the new Fire Emblem game out, I wanted to do so once more, since these are the main videos people know me for nowadays.
For this series I skipped one of the Alear forms to avoid showing the same, or similar convo twice. Due to the fact the supports seem to be the same for both Alears, I’m not going to film fem Alear.
Because this is a more traditional FE game, we have three supports per unit. We also have the equivalent of an S support but only for Alear and the other units. I filmed the S Pact Ring supports in advance so Alear’s will come last.

I like that despite people's initial impression of Ivy being that she might be kinda like a fanservice character, her only real fanservicy element is her design, and even then it's pretty tame. She's a really well written character with a lot of charm and depth. I dig how most of her supports share the theme of building a friendship with someone, seeing as her background means she probably doesn't really have many beforehand.

Honestly I don't know what is considered "fan service" though Ivy's design is just good. It's not like there is one part of her that is good. Good personality, design, and I haven't played 'til her recruitment though from what I've seen she's also good at combat.

@@davyt0247 Don't get me wrong I really like Ivy's character, but don't try and tell me her design isn't intended to be fetish fuel in polygon form: - Long flowing hair, with a hair ornament designed to partly hide it and add a hint of mystery to her expression - Enormous chest, with a LOT of cleavage on display - Bare shoulders - Tight, form fitting dress to add even more emphasis to her chest - Dress cut to show her butt and her extremely long and shapely legs - a completely unnecessary hip window - tall boots with simply ridiculous high heels - and to cap it all off, FISHNET STOCKINGS on the legs She was not intended to be the wholesome one I promise you...

@@pjs232 I feel like that the strange sexualisation in her design is more a culmination of all the bits and bobs of her poor character design. I know the designer designs streamer models but they went more than a bit overboard with over designing the characters to look unique. About every character looks cluttered and unreadable to their actual characterization.

I'm a little curious as to whether Ivy's mom is still alive. Hortensia's might've passed, but she never explicitly says the Queen is gone... come to think of it, I think all of the royals' non-plot parents are conspicuously MIA.

Well, the Nohrian siblings are only half-siblings to eachother (except Corrin and Azura). All of them have different mothers, with Xander's being the previous queen

@@5h3nn0ng Yeah, I always point out the similarities between Nohr and Elusia and how Hyacinth, Ivy and Hortensia are way too close in likeness to Garon, Camilla and Elise with some smaller changes.

Ivy it's similar to Camilla in her Light of Nohr variation in Fire Emblem Heroes (she's the Queen of Nohr from another reality and it's way too similar to Ivy) while Hortensia is close to Elise by being the young child and a magic user, plus her relationship with Hyacinth is similar to Elise with Garon, always looking for his approval.

Reasons why I love Ivy: In her dramatic character introduction, she initially presents herself as a bewitchingly alluring and wicked femme fatale, but eventually she turns out to be such an endearing, wholesome, mature, yet emotionally vulnerable dork who has been simping for Alear all this time, throughout her life. In Avatar terms, she presents herself as an Azula, but is actually very much a Zuko. And the reason why she's such a religious Divine Dragon simp is because she's too much of a cinnamon roll deep down to fit in with the religion of the Fell Dragon worshipped in her kingdom, or the treachery that plagued the Elusian royal court. Her appearance is so enchantingly beautiful, elegant and gorgeous, especially with that fancy fascinator (that strange circular headpiece she wears) giving her a such a mysterious and elegant flair. Her casual outfit which she wears in the Somniel bears resemblance to a nun's garments, with that veil and necklace as well as a modest appearance to contrast her usual seductive attire. Which really reflects the endearing, benevolent and faithful soul she is behind her dark, bewitching facade. And her fascinator brings to mind a holy halo over her head, reflecting the devoted saint she is as her true self.

Also, she does somewhat remind me of Marianne, since she's a melancholy, religious young woman who copes with her sadness, anxiety and loneliness through her faith and devotion to the deity of her world.

You gotta love how every other support (barring Alear) has Ivy acting somewhat standoffish and reluctant to talk to others... ...and then right at level C for Panette and Mauvier she's going "Let's be friends immediately!"

I actually really like Ivy's supports. She really feels like a monarch that is unsure if she is prepared, but puts up the front that she is. She has a very different way of thinking than most of Elusyia, but understands who her people are and what thier strengths and faults are. Her supports with Diamant, while I still think had a hint of future romance, really showed her dedication to wanting to end the conflicts between thier nations, and Diamant's charm seems to give her hope for that future. And her supports with Mauvier (man i love that man's supports) really show her conflicting views between her upbringing and her nature. And her supports with Hortensia are quite touching, as sisters walkjng through the stages of grief with one another, and coming out with a stronger bond in the end. Ivy is honestly one of my favorite units in this game, and i think the localization team actually did her justice and not turn her into a meme like we feared

Dragons are extremely powerful, and capable of world changing magic. On top of that they're so incredibly long lived that regular humans would assume they're immortal. So you have what is assumed to be an immortal being with world changing powers. To a normal human that sounds a lot like a god. And so the humans decided to worship these beings as such even though that's not the reality of these beings.

I’m like 80% convinced that Ivy be on the spectrum. She shows a bit of the symptoms to me and absolutely no slander to people with autism or her as a character. It makes her so much more interesting awesome and funny in my eyes and it’s the kinda of representation needed more in fiction.

@@loganthevillager9176 To be honest, it wanted to be. Like, there are many things Engage did right, but they also dropped the ball on a lot of other things... Rings being broken (not just the DLC ones: use Diamant/Roy, Alcryst/Lynn, and Hortensia/Macaiah and you'll understand why they're extremely easy) A lack of planning or character composition needed (lack of ambushes and an abundance of opportunities to level up means 95% of the time, it plays out like a modern CoD match: run forward recklessly, attack, kill, repeat) The last one I'll mention is that the story felt really lackluster. I will admit, the Fell Xenologue did have a great feel for it, but if a separate DLC is what's needed to rebuild reputation for the actual story, you know that it's not going so well
