So that explains Alear's color scheme. Blue represents Lumera's love, Red represents Sombron's evil.

Alear feels like combination of both Corrin and Robin. She/he has a mother that gets killed off and is a child of the main antagonist. Even has an evil version that exists, but in the past instead of the future.

That was so sweet Alear’s friends wouldn’t abandon her even after she as revealed to have Fell Dragon blood. So that’s what the red and blue hair symbolizes!

Hang on a second. Sigurd, from FE Genealogy of the Holy War, helps Alear sort out their genealogy? Hmmmm. Subtle intentional joke or coincidence?

Was honestly not difficult to assume this, especially with the trailers HEAVILY implying the red represented Sombron.

I'm loving how central and plot important Sigurd is. Probably the second most important Emblem after Mr Fire Emblem himself Marth. This, as well as the conspicuous absences of key Three Houses staff and the exclusion of Seliph, likely to avoid spoilers, that rumoured Genealogy remake is looking a hell of a lot more likely.

"Divine and Fell Dragons can both summon Emblems, right? But they don't do it the same way. Divine Dragons pray. Fell Dragons, though... they use invocations." Until Griss said that, I wasn't sure why Alear was the only Divine Dragon to use an invocation to summon Emblems and why Lumera didn't say a thing when summoning Sigurd. Now it makes sense that Alear actually was a hybrid, all along. That was proven when Sigurd said, "You use both prayer and invocation."

After Griss said that abt invocations and prayers, I immediately went to check chp 2 when Lumera summoned Sigurd and he was right, Lumera didn't use any invocation at all

I'm just happy that Alears hear and eye colors are now explained. It was bugging me a lot why she looks like that.

I have to say, I was caught completely off guard when I first saw this scene. This was a great game.

Yet another hero protagonist that has the blood of the dragon, very predictable and getting repetitive, BUT, I do like how they did it this time. Instead of a usually unholy union of conflicting natures done the natural way, we instead get a hero that from the "darkness" they were born from, they are balanced out with a "light" of another source. A source that genuinely cared for them as someone of blood should.

There are a few points in Fire Emblem Engage, that remind me of Star Wars.

For some time I first thought that Veyle was Alear's sister, but then something causes me to later think that Alear's the fell dragon's child, and I was like "I knew it"

I'm gonna be honest, the reveal in this game feels rather lackluster compared to Awakening. Mostly because Alear seems largely unbothered by it. The revelation of Robin's lineage held narrative weight all the way till the end of the game. By contrast, this game is like "Yer a Fell Child, Alear!" and she just responds with "Oh no! Anyway, I started blasting...."

Where she in three houses, what would Alear’s reason and faith magic list be? Assuming that fell dragons and divine dragons are associated with dark magic and light magic respectively given that she was born a fell dragon before being turned into a divine/fell dragon hybrid after being adopted.

So...Alear was originally a Fell Dragon but after their near death and being put to sleep for a thousand years while Lumera poured her power into Alear, they became a Fell-Divine Dragon hybrid? That's a thing Divine Dragons can do? If so then why didn't the Archaean Divine Dragons after the war with the Earth Dragons and other dragons who refused to seal their powers into dragon stones and become manakete do this with specific members of the loyal dragon clans and create hybrids when their clan as a whole was, and I quote, virtually extinct. Also is this how we got Grima as a Fell Dragon? Grima was originally a divine dragon but then a Fell Dragon from either Sombron's original world or one of Sombron's own children ended up in Archaea after Grima escaped the Labyrinth and met Grima and proceeded to pour their power into Grima, thus turning them into a Divine-Fell Dragon hybrid? Guess what I'm asking is, what are the rules?

2:31 This moment bugs me a lot. Why is it that being Sombron's child immediately discards Lumera as your mother? Like... I mean... you realize that Lumera was a woman... and Sombron is a man... they could have... you know... I mean, it's not really what happened but considering they are willing to give Veyle a chance and accept that her sweet personality is the real one it comes as odd that nobody considers the idea that maybe Sombron and Lumera had a thing in the distant past... maybe the possibility of Sombron being controlled by a evil personality of his own like Veyle. Again, it's not what really happened but characters can theorize stuff themselves. Yes, I know it's fault of the writing but still, very weird detail there lol.

I was just laughing at this scene. I like how the guy blurts out "you are the child of the fell dragon!" and Alear immediately believes it. No skepticism, no questions, no scoffing. The explanation is kinda ridiculous too since nobody bothered to come to that conclusion sooner. Then friggen Sigurd suddenly comes out and dumps plot info and is gone in 10 seconds. I like the game but man this story is so lazy and the characters are bland.

At least Alear didn’t pull off a Dimitri and become a literally one-eyed selfish loner a-hole who doesn’t support or take part in training and would find her friends expendable to the point that she would continue to use them until the flesh fell from their bones! “Is this some kind of twisted joke?!”

Why would she instantly believe the guy to that extent? Why would you believe anything the enemy says?

Okay now. We gotta stop using this ‘I’m final boss’s child/vessel’ thing now. Let this be the final usage of that plot, bc it’s going to be so predictable now.

As a whole I think Alear is a poorly written character. But this scene shows exactly what I wish was explored. Alear has taken on Lumeras Love and Sombrons evil. Imagine that in story of Alear wrestling with impulses to kill or just do terrible things, but then turning to the love she has been shown by her mother and others, learning to find the truth of herself, accept what she was, and move forward to what she can be. A Divine Dragon. THAT would have been a great story. But instead we got Corrin 2.0 minus the dragon ability.

Honestly, so fucking funny how Alear gets shaken by a word said by a villain that may or not be true at the time it was said. She was even called child from the Divine Dragon and then when a villain, whom she recently encountered for the first time, says you are not, she genuinely believes that and gets confused. The script is so poorly made 🤮. She should've refused it initially and then started to question her identity (based on his evidence) and summoned Sigura to confirm it.
