Here we have that old Bennie motor room -
As per the warning at the start of the movie - motor rooms have loads of dangers in them. I know what they are, what I can touch and more importantly what NOT to touch. Very risky to enter one without being a competent engineer and the experience could kill you. So watch out, my advise is keep out of motor rooms.
Bennie's floor selector design is very interesting. It's taken a couple of weeks, but I now know how they have done it using just relays. Normally, you would need a mechanical floor selector to press switches to "select" the floor the lift car is positioned at. This way, if the power should fail then the floor switch remains mechanically pressed. Using relays alone would switch off if the power failed, unless you use these ones!
I have a "how it works" video coming soon and I'll explain simply how Bennie do it using just relays.
Thanks once again and hope you continue to enjoy our videos :)
