Utage is a Nue. In Chinese( I think ) mythology, the Nue is a creature with the head of monkey/tiger, body of a feline, and tail of a snake.

I think we can all agree that Team Rainbow's race is confirmed as _"Badass"._ Kal'tsit just didn't want to put that on their Operator files or else Blaze would have wanted the same treatment. Happy 2nd Anniversary! As always: Cheers everyone! ^_^

Sora is interesting and I believe the Sankta theory is quite sound, especially with Executors files, but Deepcolor is scary. The theory that she might be an updated seaborn would make sense in a scary way, but also be extremely scary, as if her tentacles wouldn't be scary enough already.

Utage is a Nue. She's has a serpentine tail, the ears and claws of a tiger, the head of a monkey, and the body of a Tanuki. She has the power mysteries, annoying the Medical department by obfuscating her mind, her costume and swimsuit has astronaut and spacecraft motifs, and her sword is the one that was used to kill a Nue in Japanese mythology.

As someone who joined arknights mainly for the lore, these race videos are very enjoyable. Thank you

I once saw a theory that Deepcolor is most likely a pure Seaborne. Not sure about Glaucus though, she might be a different race compared to Aegirians like how Blue Poison was. A lower class race maybe?

They announced a Laterano-Mostima centered event on CN, so I hope we will get the answers to Mostimas secrets then. :D

Deepcolor is highly theorized to be affiliated with the seaborn enemies in Under Tides. When you go to the Network ingame and look up Aegir, she's attached to the same affiliation that Skalter is, who we KNOW is Skadi but assimilated into the seaborn hivemind. Deepcolor's fake archives definitely feel like an entire lie made up to cover for her disguise. Later when Mizuki joins, who is also theorized to be an assimilated being, we learn in his archives that Kal'tsit is aware of what he is and that there are more out there like him, and that she willingly keeps them in Rhodes. All very interesting if you ask me~

To everyone talking about Utage: According to OUR understanding, yes she is a Nue. According to CANONICAL information available within Terra, we don't have enough to conclude what race she is, other than her kind (assuming there are others like her, including her parents, which is also unconfirmed) are from Higashi. For clarification, understand this concept: what is one thing to us (ex: wolves) is another thing to them (ex: Lupo). We don't know what a "Nue" is to them.

I think Conviction is probably more like a heroic spirit from the Nasuverse than anything else. They appear in legends and can take different forms depending on what aspect of the legend is emphasized. We even know that when heroic spirits manifest as servants during a Grail War that they have the ability to make choices about their appearance such as Chairon opting to not be a centaur or Da Vinci opting to be a woman. I'm just terrified of what wish Conviction wants to make using the Grail given her trolley problem backstory...

I like to humor the idea that Sora might be a Sarkaz. If anyone has good cause to keep their race hidden in the showbiz, it'd be them.

Deepcolor, alongside Mizuki actually, are sorta implied to be seaborn, or at least hinted at it. Whether that's true is unknown, but I like to believe they are given Aegir and the Seaborn are my favourite part of the lore of Arknights. In a similar vein, BP is hinted/implied to be an Abyssal Hunter, which is pretty neat.

thank you for another fun lore video of our grimderp mobile game and its excellent story. Also Utage is a type of Chimera-like Youkai, a Nue. Aka a kind of weird tiger-monkey in most descriptions with a snake for a tail like a western chimera.

In one of her lines, Kirara, Utage's classmate from higashi, says Utage's species is called Riajuu and that they are terrifying

Untranslated lore from the Guiding Ahead event says that the child of a Sankta and another race will be born as the other race, unless blessed by the god of Laterano, in which case they'll be born as a Sankta. So maybe Sankta are a sort of artificial race, and "fallen" are what you get when you take the blessing away. Also, I think Sora is specifically a fallen Sankta, and that's why Bison briefly mistakes her for Mostima in Code of Brawl.

Shen Hsien aka 神仙 kinda refers to "humans who have transcended or sages, usually having immortality and magical abilities", not sure if it is considered a "race" haha

Is it possible that Executor is also falling? He's basically a terminator hired by the Laterano tax collectors and it's heavily implied he's killed at least a few Sankta. His halo also has a noticeable device attached to it, speculated in some circles to stop or slow his falling (while Mostima got no such device)

The Abyssal Hunters seem to be heavily inspired by Claymore. Hair color, being experiments, losing control and turning into monsters.

If there ever is an answer to Sora's race, it would probably be in the form of an event centered around her, possibly involving Penguin Logistics, The Emperror, Laterano, and Sora "Alter" as a Sankta.

glaucus and deepcolor might be part of the same race- something like mollusks or something since glaucus is based on the animal with the same name (blue sea slug) and deepcolor is based off a dumbo octopus. maybe theres an unnamed mollusk race with slug snail and squid people?

I suspect that maybe Utage is inspired by the Nue, a youkai described to have the face of a monkey, body of a tiger and tail of a snake.

i'm surprised no one has mentioned utage as a kamaitachi, with her curved sword and her suspiciously curved tail which looks like a sickle on both e1/e2 art and her lines about "cutting enemies" altho that maybe just coz of her sword and usually when nue is used, most of the time the tail actually has the snake head not just a scaly tail altho something to note whether she is one or the other her "Talk after Promotion 1" talks about how she obtains her sword(shishiou) you might wanna do a search about what that sword is

Maybe Utage and Manticore are somewhat related, utage is a Nue, so maybe those two can have something in common?

I like the mostima bit, because sarkaz is referenced as demons because of their horns, and because mostima (probably) "betrayed" one of her own kind so she has turn into a being close to a demon, a "Fallen angel".

actually, there is a little problem with few of them... Glaucus have traits of snails. Everyone of Aegirs, have traits of liveforms from water. And snail lives both in water and on land. Deepcolor, is some sort of octopus? believing wikipedia, Octopuses are shellfish. Just like Snails. I don't know how much in Terra is shellfishes, so i won't say, that shellfishes are still part of aegir, or they're classified as another race. Utage, actually have lots of animals trait. TIGER ears, SNAKE tail and vertical pupil, which have lot of animals. In greece Mithology, there is some goat with lions head and snake tail. Its named Chimera. Unfortunely, AK already have one Chimera. Amiya. So they cant use same race in two places. in the Christian religion, we have angels. Angels, can "fall" if they will do something forbidden. Just like killing another angel. Then, he's actually an demon. not angel anymore, and he's named fallen angel. For example, Azzazel and satan was fallen angel. Mostima (Mastema), was actually one of most important angels for jews, which was "the angel of disaster, the father of all evil, and a flatterer of God. He is said to have become a fallen angel." So Mostima IS fallen angel. Actually all of sankta we know (as far as i know) have name of some biblical character.
