A full game of All-Star Baseball 2002, Nintendo GameCube version. Chicago White Sox at Texas Rangers.
Some weirdness on defense really breaks this game for me. Twice in this recording I had a fielder catch the ball then just stand there ignoring my controller inputs for too long, causing big mistakes. Just feels a little janky.

defense in the game feels unpolished and has some glitchy animations/scenarios. My favorite ones are: line drives past the pitchers' mound that the pitcher catches, runner crashing threw the catcher trying to score (sometimes game freezes), 2B that doesn't react to weak hit in 2B/1B area, OF's nowhere near the ball and catching it or foul ball hitting an invisible barrier and the fielding catching it

The outfielders with the 7 ft catch radius is a personal favorite of mine as well

I played this a lot as a kid. My favorite mechanics were tilting the angle and sweet spot of batting, and having pitchers who had strong/rare throws such as slider or spitball. It was also enjoyable to play less-popular teams for the 1-2 batters they had that were as strong as Jeter. Both offense and defense were overpowered, Could never figure out the move where you scale into the crowd to retrieve a home run hit. But the CPU sure loved doing that to me. 2003 just didn't have the same feel.

It was very buggy. There was some pretty bad ones but I remember playing many seasons as a kid

I think i remember being able to adjust the contact hit box with the c stick so you can aim your hits

Yup, I didn’t have much success when I tried it so I don’t use it much in the video

Any tips on batting? You bat pretty good, like you know where it's gonna be. I been trying to watch the ball when the pitcher releases it and kindve guessing from there where it'll be lol

I play too many different baseball games honestly, can’t remember. I’ll probably have to learn all over again when I next record an All-Star Baseball game. This might be silly but as a general thing: make sure your TV is on Game Mode if that’s an option. About half the time when I’m really struggling to hit it’s because of latency in my TV or my recording setup. The less latency, the more time to react to the pitch
