With 27 ribbons and 3 marks, Katy's Honeycomb is a ribbon master that has gotten all of the ribbons available on the switch! As the final video of my ribbon master series, Project Ribbon Masters... is complete!
Have been meaning to make this video more than three months ago. However, I purposely waited until all the Scarlet Violet DLC had released as to account for any extra ribbons or marks. Since the concept of this video is getting all the switch ribbons, I had to scrap (most of) the work done on a previous combee in favor of Katy's combee, which has the partner ribbon. Ended up working out in the end!
The way I've formatted these chapters is to put all necessary information in writing at the start, since reading the key information can be more accessible than hearing someone say the key information:

Addendums: - Mark Charm does not boost chances of getting earnable marks i.e. Partner Mark, Item-Finder Mark and Gourmand Mark; it only boosts encounter marks like Destiny Mark. I HAVE TRIMMED OUT THIS SECTION FROM THE VIDEO USING RU-vid STUDIO EDITOR AS I DON'T WANT TO SPREAD MISINFORMATION. I had cited incorrect information from Serebii at the time of making this video - I will be more careful in the future. - Partner Mark; when transferring your Pokémon across different games, if the ribbon master is traded / has a different OT to yours, friendship will be reset. Bear in mind to always check your Pokémon's friendship before you start going for the 10,000+ steps. Another good place to ride in circles is the Olive Field near Cortando Gym too. - Footprint Ribbon; doesn't matter which switch game you level up the Pokémon in, the met level is preserved for the Pokémon. You can transfer your ribbon master across Pokémon Home and get this ribbon so long as the Pokémon was caught under level 70. - Pokémon Home will preserve special marks, ribbons, sizes etc. so you can transfer your ribbon master from Pokémon Scarlet/Violet to older switch games. The special marks/ribbons and min/max sizes are not visible in e.g. Pokémon Sword/Shield, but they are still part of the Pokémon's data. When you transfer your ribbon master Pokémon back to Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, the special marks/ sizes / partner ribbon will be visible again. - BDSP Battle Tower: First you need to win 49 battles in a row in the normal challenge; one loss resets your streak. This ends with a rematch with Palmer... Beating Palmer at battle 49 unlocks the Master Class battles. You then need to win 7 battles in a row to rank up, starting at Rank 1 and climb your way to Rank 10. Each rank ends with a "boss battle" with a special trainer, usually a Gym Leader. The "boss battle" of Rank 10 is Palmer again. Defeat him and the Pokémon that have participated are awarded the Tower Master Ribbon. A perfect run of the Battle Tower will consist of 119 battles with 49 of them being in the regular challenge and 70 being in Master Class. - Contest Ribbons. If you are good at the rhythm game and are basically getting the dance perfect, you won't need poffins/scarf/stickers to boost visuals. You DO NOT have to get perfect contest stats / have the most optimal sticker setup / use contest scarves to get the Twinking Star Ribbon... However, I suspect most people don't want to stress about getting the rhythm dance completely perfect, so it is always helpful to boost your visual score by the aforementioned preparations. The more you boost your Pokémon's visual score, the more mistakes you can make in the rhythm game.

This was *incredibly* well-documented and explained, thank you so much for making this video. I've been playing and researching these games for over 20 years and I still learned new information from this guide, not only about the marks themselves but also about a few nuanced game mechanics and transfer details I was unfamiliar with. I came back so many times here since this video got released, it's helping me so much on turning my Decidueye into a ribbon master (even tho it can only go to 3 games). In two weeks I got all the ribbons TWICE because alolan decidueye can't go to Hisui (and I wanted the photo ribbons so bad) that I had all the work on doing it again when there were only two ribbons left. Now that I'm currently struggling to get to master rank (mostly skill issue lol) I feel so close but so far, I'll come back when I get it 😅😅😅

Protip for the Friendship Ribbon: make 3 sandwitches anc play with that Pokémon three times at a picknick and your friendship will be maxed out.

The ultimate ribbon master would be to get a Pikachu with all ribbons from ORAS and SM and USUM put them in home and go through your process and get the ribbons in the switch based series. The door closes on Pokemon home DS transfers soon but then you would have a ribbon master no one could get after the DS is shut down from home. Think about that 😊 I’m going to take my campion teams from those games and try it myself. Might be a good video too.

Hi Doetah! I loved your video; particularly the surprisingly poetic bit at the end when you were taking the photo. The video is well-edited and informed; I’ve already got a Switch Ribbon Master and even I learned some new things watching your video! But, there’s something you (understandably) got wrong; the Mark Charm in Scarlet and Violet only affects encounter Marks; it has no effect on the Partner, Treasure Hunter, and Gourmand Mark. Their rates will be the same regardless, much as I wish it were otherwise. Again, I found your video super informative and well-made, and I hope I don’t come off like a nitpicky jerk by correcting you here. I wish you and anyone else reading this the best of luck with your Ribbons and Marks!

I had no idea on the odds of min/max size. I have both a XXS and XXL Skeledirge from GO that I'm considering making ribbon masters. But maaaan, FUCK the master rank.

Yups, in Pokemon Go the min/max size rate of 1/250 is more common than the base rate for a shiny at 1/512. If you count both XXS & XXL, it'd be 1/125. Agree about master rank lmao 😂

Thabks this was very helpful! Actually to better optimize this you can get rid of the league club partner ribbon in place of a personality mark, the jumbo/mini mark (and i guess technically once in a lifetime)

Since I don't have BDSP, I'll have to use a pokemon that's available in all the other games except BDSP. The only two pokemon I can tell that are available in SwSh, PLA, AND SV without being in BDSP are Rowlet, and Peilil. If I attempt this challenge I will be doing so with an Alpha Petilil, as Hisuian Lilligant is better competitively than either form of Decidueye and being an alpha will grant two extra marks, the Alpha and Jumbo marks. Another thing is I don't have Zacian since I picked Shield and missed the shiny distribution event. Will Choice Specs Regieleki work as a backup instead?

Best of your luck with your Alpha Hisuian Lilligant ribbon master! For the Battle Tower, yes Choice Specs Regieleki will work, I just presented the teams that I used and worked for me (they are not the end-all be-all teams!).

@@doetah As of Yesterday, my Alpha Hisuian Lilligant, Peony of the Distant Past, is a Ribbon Master! Choice Specs Regieleki did indeed work out great for the Battle Tower. I would like to note that I've realized another pokemon that fits the criteria in my original comment of being available in all the switch games except BDSP. Goomy. Now I'm even more motivated to get a Shiny Alpha Goomy so I can ribbon master them.

For the footprint ribbon I have a question. I have a lv 100 shiny lucario (SV event Pokémon) and I wanted to go get all the ribbons I can get and since he can't level up 30 levels how can I get it?

Hey there, I don't think there is a way to get the footprint ribbon if it was caught at level 71 or above, I know the special shiny lucario you get at level 75, but it's not a voiceless pokemon so you would just skip the footprint ribbon since it can't get the footprint ribbon.

Hey, for the tower master ribbon in sword and shield, I did both the single and double matches and maxed them out and my pokemon still doesn’t have their ribbon

Have you beat Leon with your ribbon master Pokémon in the battle team? He shows up every 10 battles once you get to MAX rank. Should get the tower master ribbon for both singles and doubles once you beat Leon at MAX rank

@@benboy8591double check your summary screen for the ribbon? You need to battle/ win against Leon at MAX rank and your Pokémon must be in the fight itself to get Tower Master ribbon

For the battle tower ribbon in BDSP is it like the Master Rank Ribbon where as long as the Pokémon is in the party of the team you're using it will get the ribbon? Or will you have to actually use it in battle to get the ribbon?

It will be given to the Pokémon you selected to battle with, the 3 or 4. So it's NOT like the Master Rank Ribbon; you'll need to swap out a member of your team and include them in battle, like SWSH battle tower.

I thought the contest ribbons would be easy with that comment you made about " playing a real rhythm game" but I have literally done everything like the move the 20 champion stickers and I am not able to get the twinkling star ribbon Any tips for the actual rhythm game gameplay.

Play on handheld mode not docked, might help to follow the rhythm of the music instead. If you already have 20 champion stickers, make sure you're wearing a contest scarf as well (any type should help boost visuals). You can use the contest move to skip a hard section of the dance. Additionally, the rhythm game portion MAY be easier on Shining Pearl compared to Brilliant Diamond. Even with visual boosts, the actual success to get the twinkling star ribbon is weighted on your skill in the dance section of the game, so practice until you get very accurate / completely accurate (the rhythm game pattern is always the same).
