Enter work: SCV Ready, Yes sir? Finish a task: Job's finished. Boss sneaks up on you: AAGH! Ya scared me. Boss asks if you can work late: WOOHOO OVERTIME! Wake up the next morning before your alarm goes off: How'd I get here?
It's phenomenal how Terran soundtracks fit perfectly with marching Marines and Goliaths, drifting Vultures and tanks.. I mean just can just FEEL and HEAR the noise of these troops with all their badassness on their way ready to kick some Zerg ass. Amazing masterpieces.
Efficiency through multi-tasking and improvising locational utilities WHILE cutting corners for costs: that's the military for you... "Marines, listen up! We'll be holding our mission briefing at 06:00 in the bathroom-dungeon! God-willing and weather-permitting, be there. That is an order! Diiis-missed!"
Arcturus: I'm not asking you to like it, I'm asking you to _do it._ Kerrigan: Yes, general. Raynor: Great... Let's get this over with. _(toilet flushing)_
An ex bf of my Mum's used to smoke weed in the pc room playing this while my brother and I played Resident Evil in the living room. This particular track is forever linked to the background of Resident Evil 1 on Ps1 to this day.
I can't hear Terran 3 without also hearing SCVs talking. "I Read ya" "Loud and clear!" "Roger that." I spent a lot of childhood playing Terran and hearing this great music.
Every time I play SC2 I can only handle have StarCraft/BroodWar soundtrack playing, it just feels more right for the sci-fi setting of the game than the new soundtrack. Also the old soundtrack is just more epic and pulls you into the feel of the game more.
As someone who got into SC2 first, in LotV times, SC1 soundtrack holds perfectly on its own. Depending on the race, Id even say its the superior experience. -Terran: Its a draw. -Zerg: SC1 -Protoss: SC2
SC1's Terran music has a really cool sci-fi edge to it while still being kind of folksy. SC2's is full-on "Hey, do you guys remember Firefly?". Not a bad thing by any means, but just not as unique.
The first soundtrack gives an eerie feeling I can't really describe, it's like you are in an off dimension of some kind where there are computers everywhere but there is no one.
Like you are in a retro futuristic universe, on a planet far removed from your home civilization, building a mechanized force to defend your outpost from the unknown.
Growing up with the original Starcraft with no expansion, Terran 1-3 end up being some of my favorite pieces of music ever, especially since it's already some of the best music out there. Terran 4 is very out of place next to these.
I get the impression that Terran 4 was made with the intention of it being the UED's music, hence its more conventionally military marching sound. From what I recall the UED was originally going to be its own faction with unique units, though this concept was cut for time and budget reasons, so maybe the track was made with that in mind, but was just reincorporated into the Terran OST when they scrapped the UED as its own race idea.
I would like to know how specifically that sound was made. The whole song in fact. I am a music writer and guitar player and some of the samples&tones in this song are fantastic. Beyond fantastic. I wish I knew how it was done.
funny how the Terran 2 theme half way through changes into one of those "demo" songs from yamaha etc. keyboards (so damn funky and jazzy, gotta love that) >:D
as a runt i thought the marines said you want a piece of meat boy? and i was like huh yeah makes sense cuz they r trained to kill zerg and zerg r meat creatures
@@Timmysthirdbirthday I could imagine those guys down for that shit, I mean the firebats are always talking about starting up a barbeque. Space marines having a Zerg barbeque would be such a great end game screen
It's actually "You want a piece of me boy?". I just noticed some hollywood movie actors has that sort of script. It's more like an intimidation to invite another person to fight and punch him in the face. And the fist fight starts right away. I just can't remember what movie is it.
@@followingtheroe1952 Hmm... are you sure you should be eating Zerg meat? I mean isn't that how you get your colony infected with a plague? Because some Firebat always undercooks the Zergling legs...
"The universe never gave us a chance, but we're still alive and kicking. We got tossed to the far end of the galaxy, dropped smack dab between two ugly alien armies, and we're not all dead yet? Tell me that don't say something about us. We're too dumb to die. A smart species would've given up ages ago."
I am currently replaying this masterpiece of a game and the music is just *chef's kiss* In order of awesomeness: Terran Zerg (almost tied with the terrans) Protoss (theirs is kinda meh compared to the other 2)
The first Starcraft have a very nihilistic storyline were good guy winning battle after battle only to get even worse and worse crisis and shocking revelations also the bad guys cause a lot havoc and always gets the last laugh at the end.
StarCraft, the only Blizzard franchise left somewhat untainted by its greed... Maybe not getting another game in the series could be a good thing, but I'd still look forward to that, I only hope they can capture the magic that made SC1 and 2 so great.
I'ts just me or every time i think i sc1 soundtrack the first themes that cme to my head are terran 1 to 3, may me it's becouse i play terran, but i played the three races but terran sountrack are the most i like, i think terran 4 is good to is more serious but feels out of place with the others
I'm still kinda pissy about the whole 40k ripoff thing, like c'mon man this is literally Aliens and also Starship Troopers. It's a pet peeve I just can't let go off because I love the games and its universe.
