All the Christmas horror books I plan to read this winter | My massive December TBR 🎄 (KU & Scribd) 

Ooo I will try to hunt one down! I think Valancourt has one (or even a few, if I remember correctly) that I try to find at my library and couldn't 😂 but I do know that Scribd has many stories on there!! Thanks so much for the rec. It's been a new interest of mine to explore Victorian ghost stories ever since I read the book "Monster, She Wrote" this past October!

@@happyhauntslibrary Nice, I want to read Monster, She Wrote! A good place to start with individual stories (besides Dickens, obv) is M.R. James. A few of his stories genuinely give me goosebumps, especially "The Mezzotint", "Canon Albric's Scrap-book", and "Whistle and I'll Come to You, My Lad." I haven't tried the Valancourt collections, but I know Dover, Oxford, and Penguin have good ones.

Half the fun was putting the list together 🤣 I am such a little planner!!!

I finished Yuletide Invasion the other day (it's so quick) and then immediately started the sequel. I liked the sequel more but they are exactly what I want when it comes to trashy, b-movie books hehehe. Wishing you a cozy and creepy December, Amy!!

I think about that a lot when I create my videos about books. I try to not solely talk about mainstream or well known stuff!

I basically chose these books based on their covers so judge away 😂 My favorite is the Abominable Snowman cover bahahah. I am learning that I love a b-movie in the form of a book! And I just listened to the latest episode of HH. It’s like you all knew I was having the worst work day on Friday and decided to upload a new episode 👻 Thanks for getting me through the day. I haven’t even seen Slotherhouse but may actually give it a shot after listening to the episode. I like the idea of it being viewed through the lens of eco horror, which I am intrigued by but never have I given a fair shot. I think it was you who mentioned The Faculty, which is what I think you have reccomended to me before that is on my movie watch list!!

It's sooo dumb but I think that's its charm🦥This video convinced me to finally tackle Night of the Crabs which has been on my shelf for forever and (I hope!) is some good B horror!

okay SOOOO I tried to give christmas romance a shot and DNF both lmao. I think it was you who read the ex hex and kiss curse, right? I think the third book is set around christmas but I may be confusing it with another book!

Holiday horror is my new favorite subgenre for both books and movies. There’s more books out there but the movies are so fun, too!!

Isn’t it so cute? It’s from Goose Creek Candles. Suprisingly, the scent is very strong! And I finished CCK last night. I couldn’t put it down 🤣 4 stars for me too 🤣🤣🤣

Crystal, you are the freaking best. Thank you for this - both the kind words and the reccomendations. I found Krampus (Brom) on Scribd after filming this video so I am STOKED to get to that one!!! I have heard mehhh things about it so I am really happy that you are enthusiastic about it! Haven’t read any of his stuff so I really don’t know what I am getting myself into which is fun. And I read N0S4A2 last winter and I think that one is very middle of the road to me. It felt a little too long-winded for my taste so a graphic novel would 10000% resolve that probably because I liked the story itself, just wanted more emphasis on the horror aspects. And are you referencing Zero’s Journey??? If so, I read that for my Nightmare Before Christmas Vlog from this past Halloween season and LOVED IT! So simple but so cute. Lock, Shock and Barrel were running amok per usual 😂

I keep raving about that non-fiction book to anyone who will listen 🤣 It was so educational but very “easy-breezy” to read!

Okayyy soooo I decided to re-listen to the short stories in Hark! that I already read last year just to refresh my memory and all of them are so bland. 😂 I will try a few of the ones I haven't explored and if they're duds, I'm just going to shut it and call it a day. Life's too short! Alsoooo I think I am entering my trashy KU B-movie book era, and I am LOVING IT!

Thank you SO much for hyping up A Christmas Carol. The physical book I got from the library also has other stories that I hope contain ghosts around the Christmas time!
