+Miss Hamiltalia Israel is a country. It's title is The State of Israel but that's like the US's full title. Not every single country has to recognize something to be a country, only a clear majority. And since the US and other UN nations recognize it, its a country. Some (most likely Islamic ruled nations) may not recognize because they don't want a Jewish state. And the only thing disputed about Israel is its capital. They proclaim it to be Jerusalem, but most places have their embassy in Tel Avi I believe.
