This Month in Hetalia: July 2022: Micronation Arc 

Hima is probably laughing at us trying to figure this out when really he just doesn’t give a flying mint bunny about the lore.

I honestly love the fact that they're adding both more micronations and building off of the ones already introduced in the manga. The newer mironations give us more interactions and fresh characters, while showing off more of the other micronations personalities (ex. Molossia and Aerica being more calm together, letting us see the more passive side of Molossia.) Also, KugelMugel's cape is a nice addition too, it fits him well , I think so anyways.

As a micronation fanatic I was so happy with this arc, the micronations are hella underrated and deserve more love.

I rlly wish the manga focuses on subdivisions personifications and if they have more or not it would be rlly interesting

I think there is simply more than one way for a nation to exist. If an actual country exists it has a personifiction but even if the country stops existing completely they can still live through the desire for independence of their people (or the nation themselves, I'm not sure). Both Cyprus and Belarus do have countries so we do not know what would happen to them if they got completely absorbed. Belarussian SSR was a thing so maybe having an administrative division still counts? Or maybe it is a matter of the people. Either way I think Aerica was talking about how a nation can stay alive not how to be alive.

Not gonna lie, I straight up ignored this arc. Hima really rushed the glorious Olive Oil Quiz arc and even a potential fun arc on how nations pronounce different things (the one-shot GerIta chapter) to give us a whole month of micronations with new characters that practically no one will care about uh. At least he could've given us canon latino countries or smth, but nah. More micronations, I guess. I apologize for the salt, I just really didn't care for the arc at all.

I don’t know… the characters are definitely cute but it doesn’t really interest me at all. I know this is supposed to be an funny anime but I just hoped for a bit more lore (ex. Who even created countries and how did everything even started). I’m pretty sure many people as in the comment section don’t find it interesting I also want to see countries from South America or Africa because most of African characters were just forgotten 😭

I also don't care for the micronations. It's like an excuse to make up whatever characters you want into the universe - why creating a personification of something like Brazil you'd think a little and be aware of its history and stereotypes but with micronations there's not too much to work with, so it's easier. Sorry for complaining, if anyone likes them that's cool

Micronations... Jesus, how I hate them! They're such a waste of time. Why is Hima still drawing them?
