Really embodies the feeling of stagnation for me. Sometimes I don’t know if I’m going up or down through life, or if I’m getting nowhere at all. It’s also a good song. There’s that.
Nice profile picture! I always felt like this song is about the uncertainty of death. Are we destined for heaven, hell or nothing? Either way I don't wanna wait to find out.
Doesnt seem like stagnation to me, no rise, no fall, just being and observing, not being affected to much by the chaos around us. Like a tree which bends along with the winds. Being conscious of this gives you the power to change that perspective 😉, if u want to, GL on you’re journey.
Lyrics : Am I going down? Am I going up? Am I going nowhere? I don't wanna wait too long While I'm buried in the ground I don't wanna wait too long While I'm buried in the ground ---Background Vocals--- Tristen Gaspadarek, Caitlin Rose & Erin Rae, d'aprés Genius Lyrics
I was gonna thumbs up, but then I asked... "am I thumbing up? Am I thumbing down? Am I thumbing nowhere?" Upon further contemplation my brain broke and I defaulted to thumbs down. Thank you for your prayers.
Whenever I hear the opening of Am I Going Up, I can easily envision a man in a post apocalyptic landscape, galloping across an arid desert with a sense of urgency and the weight of something profound riding on their shoulders...like the fate of the world hangs on their steeled heart and steady hand. I see man of middle age, dusty cowboy hat, and a glistening six shooter reflecting the unforgiving sun, and a desperate hope in his eyes beset with stoicism riding with a desperate fury to stave off that encircling fate.
Clutch has been my favorite band for years, almost 20 to be exact until these guys came along! There is a similarity in the progression of there music. I was lucky enough to finally see them in Grand Rapids Michigan at Founders Brewery. They did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to meet both the bassist/singer and the drummer and they were as cool as could be. The new album is brilliant! Already waiting on the next one. I just wanna know how they took a 36 minute album and made it seem like an hour long album! Keep on trucking there's good things in your future, your to original and we are lacking that in our current musical landscape.
