This is literally perfect. Although they had a very beautiful/toxic whirlwind of a relationship, I think that they are soulmates just meant to be together later (hint hint in a year in the life season 2)!
I honestly don’t like this edit they switch everything around and kinda made it look like Jess was a bad guy, which he wasn’t and at the end of their relationship he became too good for her
@@its_ry.7232 it’s a pretty great edit, considering it’s got all their scenes together and in no specific order. I do agree with the fact that jess had his fair share of faults and he wasn’t a saint. But even if he was a good boyfriend, doesn’t necessarily mean that he was always a good guy tbh. He had his own shit to deal with and that came in the middle of his relationship with Rory. By the time he got his priorities in order, she’d moved on by then. I think they’re soulmates and they don’t have to be romantically involved to be that way.
@@its_ry.7232 hi! i’m VERY late seeing this but i just wanted to clarify: this is only an edit! i mentioned in the description that i am team jess all the way. this edit makes jess seem like the bad guy because that’s just the way it worked with the lyrics. i wanted to match the scenes w the lyrics and the main way to do that was to make jess seem like the “jake” of the relationship. i personally LOVE jess as a character and i agree that he was too good for rory in the end.
They deserved so much better, Jess had such a good influence on Rory. They both made each other a better person and in my head they will always end up together.
when they went out i think rory helped jess become a better person but he still had a lot of trauma to deal with which he was able to do on his own and when he came back to see rory he was mature enough to be in a relationship with her but then she wasn’t in a good place. they both shared the same interests and pushed each other to be better and it’s obvious to see in the year in a life that they were both at good places to be together compared to dean and logan, it only makes sense for rory and jess to be endgame in my opinion.
Yupp!!! Her relationship with both Dean and Logan were strictly gonna be romantic or nothing else. Notice how when her and Dean outgrew their relationship he left her in Season 5 and never came back to even see her rather they just ran in to each other at the supermarket in the revival. Also, when she rejected Logan's proposal he just walked away and didn't want to be part of her life anymore unless he was getting to bang her which was evident in the revival. Jess however remained in Rory's life as a true friend and always inspired her to be the best version of herself. I guess it can be summed up as Dean is Team Dean, Logan is Team Logan and Jess is Team Rory.
I'd like to think that later on Rory tells Jess that shes having Logan's baby and even though its not his Jess and Rory end up together and he takes care of the child as if its his own.
there’s an amazing fic with this exact storyline on archive of our own called “this is tailor-made (so what’s the sense in waiting?)” and i like to think of it as cannon in my mind because it’s perfect
I was never team Dean..he was very toxic and would make assumptions without listening to Rory. Jess and especially Logan were better listeners and didn’t immediate assume. Jess knew Rory better than anyone and she was able to be herself with him. Logan was very understanding. Jess or Logan would’ve been perfect for her. Jess and Logan truly loved Rory..it was obvious.
My crazy conspiracy is that the reason he “isn’t over that” as Luke asks him (he says he is but then shows he’s not) is that him and Rory had a fling and the baby was his. I make these things up because I’m too much for Rory and Jess but also for me and Jess.
Lorelai worked so hard for Rory to have a better life and better start and because of that pure motivation she always stayed pure at heart and so did Rory. But that only worked until Rory started playing with the rich. Rory was no longer so pure, tbh I couldn't stand her hypocricy, she really wanted to believe she does not act as a privileged spoiled brat even when she obviously became one. And I don't hate reboot because honestly it was a long time coming for her to have these nasty personality traits showing off, sleeping with engaged man, being arrogant and losing job etc. And that's why I feel Jess was better for Rory. He had his not-ideal moments during teenage years, but he always kept her in check, her head on the ground. He learned the hard way how to navigate adulthood. Became pure! At the same time Rory hit the wall with her fly high work and life expectations and completely lost herself waiting for all the good things to come, just because she's Rory, she gets what she wants, duh. Only Jess could get the best of Rory, bring back the Rory we all loved. Logan was a straight way for Rory to be both vain and miserable. I'd love a season 2 but I'm worried things would get even worse while I'd wish for a GG style Rory-Jess rom com :P
Her mom got pregnant with someone of the same economic class but ended up as a single mom. Luke was basically the father figure and then later on becomes Rory’s step dad. Rory is pregnant at the end with someone in her same economic class (although she doesn’t like it she is upper class). She obviously can’t be with him because she just broke it off. I have a feeling Jess will be the father figure and will end up with Rory.
this is AMAZING!!!!!! literally had chills the entire time. i love when people edit rory and jess to taylor swift, it breaks my heart or fills it with joy
YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO MAKE ME SOB LIKE THAT :( This is a masterpiece. Really. PS: Am I the only one who thinks that Rory's and Jess' relationship was the least displayed of them all? We got to see her with Dean and Logan, but I feel like we only got pieces of Jess :/ WHEN IS THIS SHOW GOING TO COME BACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
It's obvious that they end up together!!!!! I HAVE NO DOUBTS. Here's why: I just started watching the series again, and you can see it already in season 1 in episode 1 and 2 even though Jess is still not there. There are obvious hints on how the story repeats itself...for example: - Rory's real name is Lorelai Gilmore too - There is a scene were they are angry at each other after discussing about going to Chilton; Rory is laying in bed, she tells her mum to leave her room, she turns on the radio and a specific song plays...then you see Lorelai doing the same in the living room (she lays on the couch, turns on the radio, and the same song plays). - Lorelai mentions several times in episode 1 how they are the same, she understands her in everything that she does or think (cause she did the same), for example when Rory doesn't want to go to Chilton after meeting Dean. “After all, you’re me,” she tells her daughter: “someone willing to throw important life experiences out the window to be with a guy.” - In episode 2, Lorelai and Rory are walking through the street, they stop outside Lukes cafe, and Lorelai asks Rory if she thinks Luke is cute; Rory tells her not to date him if not they wouldn't have anywhere to get the coffee from after they broke up...a few seconds later when they leave (they continue walking), you can see Luke getting out of the cafe looking at them in the distance (he was probably hoping they would go in), cause he wanted to see Lorelai...plus you can definitely see he has feelings for her (and vice versa, but I don't think Lorelai is really aware...yet). After that scene, the episode 2 ends! And that's how the last episode of the revival ends, but instead of being Luke thinking about seeing Lorelai, it was Jess looking at Rory. - Rory gets pregnant when she's 32 (yes, older than her mum), but still not being the person she wants to be or thought she would be at that age. And she gets accidentally pregnant from a man who had consistently attempted to manipulate her emotionally, socially, and financially. Also being "the perfect boyfriend" in the eyes of her grandparents, who just think about money and are very classist...just like Christopher was for Lorelai
OMG it's so perfect, I love it so much. Rory&Jess is my fav couple in Gilmore girls and seeing a short film with all too well let me be so romantic thx u so much
The reason why Rory never got back together with Jess and chose Dean and Logan is because she's scared of losing him again. Rory really loved him and why she was hurt so much by him leaving without a word again so she doesn't want to relive that pain. And it's no coincidence that after this she makes bad decisions and gets worse as a person until Jess gave her the wake up call that she truly needed. For her Jess is perfect since they get along so well and can truly be herself without expectations from her mom or grandparents. She never really forgave him for leaving and breaking her heart in the process. But we all know that the story went full circle after AYITL so in the end they still got together with Jess helping her raise her kid.
