Hey! I love your version differences videos. Keep up the good work! Regarding this episode, I think you forgot one major difference - in Emerald, the Abilities have outside-the-battle effects, most important being Synchronize and Suction Cups.

Favorite gen.

This was the second Pokemon game (Ruby) I played (yellow being the first) and I was enchanted by it. The colors, the new Pokemon, berries, contests, the music! Everything about it was exciting and when I opened up Ruby Version on my birthday it was the best birthday I've ever had, best gift I've ever gotten for so many reasons. This game cemented my love for Pokemon and I played it over and over again. Rse will always have a special place in my heart and is still my favorite Pokemon game.

You forgot one smol detail. The fact the in Emerald you can mass move pokemon in your PC if you press select. The lil hand turns orange. It was so clutch.

You forgot how Poochyena and Mightyena are much more common in Emerald, replacing the Zigzagoons and Linoone on a lot of routes.

Please do the generation differences once you done this series. I would love to learn about how different are G/S/C from HG/SS and si on. Great work and thank you very much!

Ah, Hoen - the gen 3 games introduced me to the franchise I love so much. It isn't my favourite region - that'd be Kanto - but it was my first and, for that, I love it. I'm looking forward to the Sinnoh video - gen 4 wasn't my favourite, but learning about anything Pokemon is always fun.

dang dude, this video is over five years old and im just NOW finding it?? I've tried for years to find gen 3 trivia on youtube and its almost always disappointing. always a buncha widely known facts - some obvious, some mostly only gen3ers would know. from weird surf bugs to little deliberate easter eggs. but its been years since anyone's shown me something i didn't already know. but this here is actually very thorough and well put together. i especially love the map differences. I've never seen anyone cover this before and i love seeing the overworld map without field of vision limits. and to see all the variety in the details really tickles my ocd-ish persona. but what i wanna knows is HOW did i NEVER get recommended any of your videos before?? i mean- you're obviously doing well for yourself on this platform, so i can't blame the algorithm... but what the heck youtube? AGAIN, this video is OVER 5 YEARS OLD!! And literally, at LEAST twice a year i look for content like this!! fyi, i searched "gen 3 pokemon" to find this video. i know- very generic search.. but i've tried so many searches, so many times (including 'gen 3 pokemon') and rarely find anything new. and if its new, its usually a suspiciously familiar video lol. not saying people are just re-vamping older videos.. but yeah, oddly similar to eachother. ALSO, a lil trivia i discovered less than a month ago; using Defense Curl before Rollout or Ice Ball increases the dmg of each move. idk if you already knew that. i was surprised how many people have known this. here i am finding out near the end of 2021 lol. kind of embarrassed about that, but i love learning new things so i'll take it as a win.

Two points -ereader functionality was included in the Japanese version of Emerald -Emerald, along with FireRed and LeafGreen, had a patch included that you could send to your Ruby or Sapphire versions to fix the berry counter glitch Other than that, great job

If I could make a suggestion, for FireRed and LeafGreen you could start off with how they're different from the originals and then finish off with how they differ from each other. Just leave out anything that's the same from Gen I and refer everyone to that video.

Emerald was genuinely one of the best games of my childhood, and I still hold it in high regards for one simple reason, ORAS didn't get a Battle Frontier, which was one of the biggest disappointments of recent years. The memories of my first shiny, a blue Spinarak, a friend putting all the ticket events on my game, using the clone glitch to transfer my Emerald teams to Diamond but still keeping them on Emerald.

I had this game and it was my first out of the Hoenn games. I remember being annoyed of how many times I encountered the same Pokemon many times trying to level up, the hundreds of Timer Balls to catch all available legendary Pokemon (Rayquaza was the hardest), and all the rumors about using the space station to battle Deoxys.

Something I just now noticed is that in ruby/sapphire, the pokemon Birch throws out is Azuril, the pokemon helping with moving into your new home is Machoke, and the pokemon chasing burch is Poochyena while in emerald these roles are swapped to Lotad, Vigaroth, and Zigzagoon respectively

I now want Emerald. Because re-challenging the Gym Leaders?! I need that.

Just watched all three videos in this series back-to-back, and disappointed to see that you stopped here. You should consider re-visiting this series one day to do generation 4.

Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald are the most fun to play for me, but I always traded Gen 1 starter (usually Charmander) at the start of my play through of the Gen 3 games.

Emerald also uses the catch success music from FireRed and Leafgreen. Also in the Japanese release of Emerald, the Vigoroths that help you move in have the cries of the Machokes from Ruby and Sapphire. It was fixed for the other languages.

Emerald was my second game and even though I never got to eastern Hoenn after defeating Norman, I very much enjoyed it. It’s always been one of my favorites
