I am beyond grateful to have come across your page. I'm a recent adoptive plant mom of Pothos. I was recently replanted both TJ and Malibu. Tj looks to be doing well. Malibu is still adjusting. She wasn't too pleased. I was at home depot today and had a chat with the Plant lady. I showed her photos and she said just give her time, light and a chat. I told her how I was watching video of ppl experimenting on their plants and needed someone who really knew what they were talking about. That's when you popped up. THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH. Valuable information

I watched 10 videos about Pothos to learn about it and I thought I won't find any more information in a youtube video about this plant. I was lucky that I watched your video as the last one and I realized that I was wrong. Your video is very very informative and detailed, better than all of the other ones. Thank you for your great explanations. 👍👍

Aquarists...like myself put pathos in our aquariums. We put the stems and roots in the tank and leaves outside the tank. We do this because the plant feeds on the excess nutrients in the water...ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. Aquarists love pathos. It really helps us with algae control and water chemistry. It's a tough plant. My cichlid frequently attacks the roots and my pathos continues to grow. I add only LED lighting for the pathos. Pathos is 'the bomb'. We love it.

I used to do that too, it's a great way to display them, but I'm always amazed that Pothos growers suggest never to keep the soil too wet, or it dies. I remember having a huge long Devil's Ivy that grew from my fish tank, so they can't hate water that much!

I have been on a journey to plantify my home for a few years now. Have been going trough the ups and downs, over watering, pests and plants wilting away during the first two years. This time around I know what type of plants that I can care for but still learning a lot almost every day. I have been scowering youtube for plant tips and advice regarding a lot of the aroids. I have found a lot of american plant-channels that are great but I have yet to found a channel as extensive and informative as this (no shade)! On top of that I actually live in Sweden! which has been a concern since Sweden has a very specific placement which lends us never ending sun during the summers with long winters of night. Finally Ive found a channel that can adress plant care for nordic countries! Awsome!!

Yes, I thought I had a green thumb until I started buying other types of plants 😄🌿🌿🌿 Snake plants are another plant you might want to try. Mine like to dry completely out and then get completely saturated, stay in a pot that's too small, and be a little neglected... perfect for me! 👍👍👍 Pothos and snake plants are taking over my condo and the striking foliage just wows people when they walk in.

@@MyrtleBeachWebAngel see I’m the opposite I started with hard plants and did a lot of research and I have so many that are fussy and I’m on my toes all the time but today I bought my first pathos. I’m worried because for some reason the “difficult “ plants are just fine except for my alocasia it’s being a jerk, but all the ones people say are easy or hard to kill they just off them selves as soon as I set them down in my Apartment, except my Chinese evergreen that’s been with me a while is so easy. So tolerant. Good luck on ur plant journey!

It seems like most, if not all plants fall into 1 of 2 categories- they like to dry out between waterings or they like consistent moisture (but not wet.) I would love to find that written down! Like a list of all the plants that you water when the top inch is dry and a list of all the plants that you should let dry out completely before watering!

I know you probably won't answer this directly because you answer your most asked questions in the Q&A videos (which, by the way, I have been binge watching!), but I'm very curious to know the answer (I apologize for the length of this, just want to be detailed in case my questions do get answered).. I've had a Marble Queen pothos for about 3yrs now (my very 1st plant & still my most favorite one). Her growth rate seemed to be a bit slow but she was still growing & was gorgeous. I attribute the slow growth to my watering- I am terrified of root rot & allow all my plants, except spathiphyllum, to completely dry out in between waterings. I also only recently learned that I should be pruning. After I cut off 2 vines, I noticed lots of new growth, which you said would happen. She's remained in the same pot since purchase & recently, water has been running straight through & out of drainage holes. I assumed it was root bound & also needed fresh "soil". She wasn't nearly as root bound as I had anticipated, but I STUPIDLY still potted up from a 6" to an 8" pot. The stems looked a bit leggy & the remaining vines were scarce & scraggly. So instead of just pruning more, I made a huge mistake- since there are so many aerial roots on pothos vines, like an idiot I assumed that I could bury- yes, bury- the vines & just have the leaves sticking up from soil (wish I'd seen your video 1st because I would've just pinned vines down like you suggested). I also made ANOTHER mistake by fertilizing immediately after repotting. Of course there were quite a few separate little plants in the pot when I took it out, so it's not one single plant. And now, maybe 2 weeks after the repotting & my epic failure, almost every single leaf in the pot is dead or dying. I'm heartbroken over losing her. I'm planning on immediately buying another one & do not want to make the same mistakes. So (finally), my questions are- 1) do you think it's because I buried the vines underneath the soil which led to her decline? And why exactly does doing that such a problem? 2) Since it wasn't severely root bound, do you think that I killed her by going up in pot size from a 6" to an 8"? Could she have suffered from root rot? 3) Do you think that fertilizing right after repotting either caused or at least attributed to her decline? And lastly, 4) Although the leaves are almost all dead, the actual vines themselves still seem to be green & firm & look ok. Do you think I can somehow propagate the cuttings of leafless stems? Again, I'm sorry for so many questions, just thought I'd give it a shot & at least ask. Thank you so much. -Jasmine

If you place a pothos (or any plant) near a window that gets blasted with lots of direct sunlight… buy a sheer curtain to put in front of the window. I have some of my plants in my room and the only window is facing North West so in the evening the window is right in the way of the sun setting and I was noticing some browning on the side that was facing the window. I got a cheap curtain rod and pack of sheer curtains from target and it took me all of 10 minutes to put it up and my plants are SO much happier and no more burning and browning leaves!
