@Sales K wtf does Mike have to do with his post dummy? He said ONE of the toughest players. He was 5'11" a buck 160 soaking wet & led the league in mins, steals and pts for 3-4 yrs. Always some moron spouting off, off topic
Pound for pound Allen Iverson is the best little guard in NBA history. I think we can all agree we miss watching this guy play and give it his all every night on the court ✊🏽
I love the way he elevates his teammates by saying "if they're pros, they're good enough for us to win". Though he didn't get a ring, I respect that mentality.
Iverson and mike Tyson are the two most genuine athletes in sports history. I wish they got their flowers during their prime, they portrayed iverson like he committed murders for just dressing and being himself. The whole practice thing is an example. They made it seem like he didn’t care by cutting the clip when in reality it was about his best friend just getting murdered and them asking him about practice.
One of the best interviews. Once again you transported the audience behind the scenes and let us be a fly on the wall. Firm handshakes 🤝 for a job well done This should guarantee an Emmy for 2023
Great interview! Loved the story about his love of football and John Thompson not wanting him to play. Would not have guessed Bobby Hurley being his favorite player. I got a cat in 2001, and named him Iverson 😜
I always respected AI the player but never got a sense of him as a person. After this the man has my utmost respect. Not a lot of honest, humble people but he's one of them.
You should check out any interview by him after the 04-05 season, both as player and then as retired player. He had really matured by then and was a class act. He's always this genuine, this humble, this honest, and has a totally charming sense of humor in any interview.
Bobby Hurley was a tough SOB. One of the main reasons why Duke went back to back. And Laettner was tough as nails and made Hurley tougher. Much respect to AI and his game.
I remember Kenny Anderson with Ga Tech in the NCAA tourney but don’t recall the abuse you are referring to. Post a link. Probably was when Anderson was a senior and Hurley was a freshman
Love his ruthless effort towards competition. This guy is a top 20 player of alltime. After magic and isiah he is the best point guard slash shooting guard
💙🏀❤️Clap your hands everybody! 1-2-3-4-5 Sixers, 10-9-8-76ers! A.I. is beloved in Philadelphia because he gave us fans all he had on the court. We knew that he played his heart out every time he walked on the hardwood. Number 3 was and will always be one of those special players and a special 76er to me ❤️🏀💙
Allen Iverson is great, but to my younger brother you mean everything to him! He grew up absolutely idolizing you and would watch every single game that you played and followed your career very closely from the age of 5 years old and inspired him to play basketball and have a love for the game so thank you for doing that and I'm also a big fan, but nothing lmy Brother Cade.
@@adrianprince7266 It's a team game, you nimrod. But Iverson got the best of the GOAT that day. Your opinion on the matter is irrelevant -- that's HISTORY, boi.
@@Vic-Vega So when someone is crossed that means they got the best of someone… I think just because it was Jordan it’s amplified so much. It was a great move and AI is amazing, but the Bulls won the game. Therefore you know who got the best of who.
@@daweeza42 The Bulls won the game because they had the BETTER TEAM, nimrod. Did you know Iverson outscored Jordan in 10 of their 13 H2H matchups? Even if you throw out Air's appearances with the Wizards (where he clearly wasn't at his peak), AI still got the best of him.
What I like about him is that he never try to pump himself up. He measures his words not trying to remind people who he was like a lot older players are doing these days talking their generation was better.
Crazy how much many of us took for granted what we had when we had the pleasure of watching Iverson play. So much respect for him as a player and a person.
So me and my best friend during middle school always argued who was better, a.i or vince. Vince was MY GUY but there was never ANY question Iverson was INCREDIBLE! Dude broke down so many barriers and hes maybe a top 3 most beloved player from early 2000s.
It’s really humble of him to say what he said about Coach Brown and taking constructive criticism and all. He’s a good dude to admit this stuff and be real about it all these years later.
Used to come in my store in Atlanta. Never acted like a big shot. So humble. Loved him as a stone cold killer on the court. Like him even better as a straight up good guy.
I think that people who watch DP really do not care about content.....they just kick back and enjoy the interveiw....kind of like Howard Stern, Larry King and Ed Bradly....
Allen...selfishly I am glad you played basketball full time....one of my favorite players ever and along with Isiah thomas the biggest heart in the game
In an interview with the director of The Last Dance it was revealed that one of the reasons Jordan agreed for that documentary was the fact that the same director had a documentary about AI. Jordan replied something like: "Was that you? I love the lil' guy (AI)...that documentary made me cry." Jordan has genuine love for AI. The same goes for LeBron. Michael once called Michael Wilbon and literally asked him to give LeBron a break saying something like "You criticize him too much. He's a good kid, he's doing great..cut him some slack" and at the same time he asked Wilbon not to tell anyone about that conversation.
The OG that influenced pop culture forever. The tattoos and cornrows hairstyle is common now. On top of that became one of the pound for pound best NBA players.
Liked him on Georgetown. I rooted for him early on in Philly, then he kind of got a bad attitude for a while in the NBA but, he eventually came around after he became a man and I am really impressed with how he matured. AI, and for a short period D Rose, we’re two of the best pound for pound players to ever lace them up. His natural athleticism was amazing. Seems like such a cool dude.
