I love Chuck, man. People think he's dumb because of his accent but he knows the game, is funny, respectful and always has fantastic insight. He's a treasure.
wayne youle i waw thinking the same thing. when he isnt on tnt doing the nba games, i barely watch. they be having too much fun doing that show. his rants about san antonios big ol women, kill me everytime.
wayne youle I know he's a tell it like it is person he doesn't have any championship rings but he's one of the best of all time one of my favorite 76ers player I like him better than Iverson
I live in Scottsdale, met Charles twice. He was so nice to my dad the first time, and the second time he spent good time with my son who was coming out of a ymca. That same ymca was when we met Shack and it was his turn to bring doughnuts for his daughters team. We all appreciate and love these guys. Dan, wonderful interview, And I know interviews, this one is special
You would probably need to be careful with not overdoing it. Charles threw a guy through a window in a bar that was harassing him and I would guess he may have been a little drunk.
Chuck with a Nirvana story... He has lived, what a legend. Respect to Sir Charles Barkley the Greatest SF! And the most honest sports anylist, that’s why he’s my favorite.
Over a 23-year professional career, Manu Ginóbili became one of only two players (along with Bill Bradley) to have won a EuroLeague title, an NBA championship, and an Olympic gold medal.he won two Italian League MVP awards, the EuroLeague Finals MVP, and the 2001 EuroLeague championship and Triple Crown. People always forget what Manu achieved in Europe before he came to the NBA. He is also GOD in Argentina.
God, I love Charles! He's so honest, funny, and doesn't worry about what others think, plus he's just a good guy. I always make sure to listen and watch whenever I know he's going to be on TV and radio.
Charles Barkley is the best interview because you can ask him anything about the game or life in general but mainly the game of basketball and he'll tell you what's up 100%, even if he looks bad... he should have won at least 2-4 rings but politics and circumstances wouldn't allow it.
No...! You have me all wrong.... When I say "politics" I'm referring to the politics of professional sports. Professional sports are a business and the business is ran by owners. Just like if you owned a business, you invested in what you wanted, you have employees and the good employees make more money for you and the better ones you invest more in because they are more beneficial. Jordan was more profitable than Barkley so hey, they each had their times and opportunities but if you are making more money for me, then you get to win because it's more money. Just like players on a team, if a guy signs a larger contract, he's going to get more playing time even though the guy behind him is better or is producing more. That's business and that's pro sports.
Fouls? Nope, never said anything about fouls or non-fouls because either a ref calls a foul or they do not. As far as rigging games, I never said that and couldn't care less one way or the other. Concerning what I am shown or told... that's subjective based upon what happens or what is believed. Based upon politics or what I described... I'm sure you misunderstood everything. Read my earlier statements: Politics and circumstances wouldn't allow Barkley to win rings. It's very simple. What were the politics and what were the circumstances - his career tells you. You stated I have no idea what I was talking about... Well, tell me... What was I talking about?
u know what, charles and dan are a good combo on air. one of his best interviews as far as entertainment and conversation. they need to do a full hour (with barkley present), at least twice during nba season. look at how many views this has already. instant classic. the bird disrespect and pot stories are hilarious .
Me too I stopped really being a serious nba fan when Mike went to the wizards and kings kept getting screwed can by the lakers in the playoffs seemed like every yr for 5 yrs lol
19:15 This is why Dan is the best. Of course he knew Charles was in that fight. But he knew that was the way to get the best response from Charles. My goodness the man is a master.
This isn't like pre-internet days when you had to tune in to SportsCenter to see highlights. We can get highlights on our phones. ESPN is adapting to the times. SportsCenter had to evolve. Besides, what highlights are there generally at 6 o'clock? Michael and Jemele are doing their thing and so is SVP. I don't watch anything on ESPN regularly except PTI but I like both of their shows whenever I catch them.
I love this interview Dan, Barkley is one of my favorite interviews up there with the sandman respect To dan for leaving espn and starting something so great .. and your advertisements work because I have Traeger grill now and wow
Charles is my 2nd favorite player ever. But Charles is the best player and funniest combo that's ever played. I absolutely love him. Hes just an honest southern boy like me. Utmost of respect for him.
I have a small confession I have about 1000 basketball cards of Sir Charles when I was growing up I idolize this man. Still love him. One of the best power forwards to play the game and yes he was better than Malone.
Lol that 1000 yard stare Chuck gave the geek after that question was hilarious. Like he was trying to wrap his mind around it. Popularized the Eurostep in the NBA, clutch from his rookie season, 3 'ships, numerous 6th man of the years, playoff game winners, led Argentina to a gold medal.... Bruh
It's not about that. He was asking Chuck if he would rather have a better college career or better NBA career. It's would you rather eat an apple or and orange.
@@LevyNagyMusicalEscapades It's a legit question. Would you rather be the greatest human being of all time at something, or just a very good and very successful one? Obviously Charles chose the right one, but you do have to think about it at least for a second. Laettner will be mentioned and highlighted long after Ginobili ever will.
I'd say getting old after being one of the most dominating basketball players of all time bothers him more than adding a dozen or so strokes to the handicap. I love Charles, he's honest and does a lot for people without asking for any recognition. He's also a funny guy.
I love you Chuck....but, Bird was a better passer, shooter and all around great player...if you're not better than Magic then maybe you're not better than Bird......you were incredible and it's hard not to love you against anyone
I Love you Chuck! Larry Bird gets no respect though, people don't know how great he was! He a 3X League MVP in the same era as Magic, Jordan, Chuck, Dominique, Isaiah, etc... He's 1 of only 17 players to have career averages of 20+ppg and 10+rpg, he achieved 50%/40%/90% while averaging 29ppg, 10rpg, 8apg in 1986/87. Averaged 24.3ppg, 10rpg, & 6.3apg for his career while shooting 50%, go take a look at his numbers, the dude was freaking amazing!
I love the fact that he gave Russ credit for his level of effort. I haven't seen a pro athlete give that level of maximum effort in 30yrs of following sports 💯.
True. I also love that he gave Isiah Thomas his props. When I hear people talk about great point guards today I never hear his name I always hear Magic, Oscar, Stockton, Curry. I always have to bring up Isiah (I'm a lifelong Laker/Magic fan)
I will never forgive Chuck. He was my favorite player and character. I had great tickets to the game when Charles was coming to play the Trailblazers. The night or two before the game, he got in a bar fight and was suspended and didn’t play. I was devastated. He owes me big time. Another time, I was sitting behind his team’s bench. Charles was on the bench. Someone in the stands yelled, “Hey Barkley, want a hot dog?” He stands up, turns around and says, “Yeah, you buying?”
Charles Barkley is very spontaneous, And real, He goes on impulse, His golf game suffered when they told himTo start thinking About his Swing. Which in his brain reprogram the way he does things.
I used to think Barkley talked too much shit, but honestly he’s just fearlessly honest. And now that I’m over what I used to think about him, I love the dude as a sports personality. He’s funny as hell. I don’t think he is dumb at all but the accent does make him funnier lol
