I'm glad you found this helpful, it's good to know people find value in the videos. I'm not the most entertaining person so I've gotta put something useful in the videos so people watch them 😂😂😂. Good luck on your project!!

Nice work, Tim and Bob! Glad you've got a supply of parts to keep them going. Hope you have a good one!

Thankyou Evan. I found out years ago if I'm at the junkyard and I see something that's good for one of ours I grab it 😆. These clutches are a Kiefer example of that. Found them in a crate the last time I went to jakle brothers. Thanks for watching evan!

Thankyou cousin Scott!! I have a feeling if you get another tractor is not going to be orange for some reason 🤔 😆. But I would gladly work on it for ya either way. Lol

Nice video on this clutch. I hadn't seen one disassembled, but was always impressed by the design because it could be slipped quite a bit without overheating. It looks like these clutch plates outlasted the linkage! It's a handful to operate though.

Thankyou Jazzerbyte!!! The wet clutch design was brilliant, but basically all they did was take a motorcycle clutch, gave it a high and low range, and made it bigger 😆 but it was still way out ahead of the other colors at the time for sure. I learned how to farm basically on a series 4 17. So I can't agree with the operating part to me they are the most comfortable little tractors lol I get lost with out the hand torque on others 😆

Great video. These power directors are kind of voodoo/black magic. One of my D-17's only works on the high side only, I think it's the high side. Hopefully that's just a linkage issue. Once the starter comes back from the shop maybe we'll get that figured out!

😆 alot of guys talk about them just like that. What kind of voodoo is this thing 😆 🤣 😂 years ago I had to put that thought aside the only place that knew how to work on the was agco and we didn't have money for that. Lucky I had money to get parts at that time. But ever since I did that 1st one, they dont scare me anymore 😆. I was about 18 then and worried I wouldn't be able to fix grandpa's tractor if I took it apart lol o how things have changed since then lol. Keep me posted on your 17 project. If you need parts Leyva me know as well. Iprolly know a few guys with whatever you need 😆

Hey there Tim, you always have awesome videos, can you reground the hand clutches or do you have to put all new ones in? I know we were talking about filters from the other video, there's one more I thought of fleet guard, they have them for every equipment 🚜👍does it ever get crowded in the garage when you are working on your tractor?🚜

Bob and I work with each other pretty well. By yes is get a little crowded 😆 I hope to have a proper shop in the near future, but it's been hard saving the money under these bidenomics 🤦‍♂️. No sir one these plates are worn they are done for the clearances in the clutch don't allow for regrinding them. Thanks for watching and commenting Matt!

Another great video Tim. You mentioned this type of clutch from the D-14 onwards. Is the 8 speed (Hi/low range) D10/D12's the same type of clutch as its bigger brother's?

Thankyou robert!! I can't say for sure on the d10 and d12. As I've never worked in one. That's why I stopped at the d14 in the video I didn't want to say anything that wasn't correct 😆. But I would say that they are, the 45s were pretty much the same design too, just with only one clutch pack.if I had to guess they would just have less clutch plates per pack. But don't take that as gospel 😂

Is this very similar to the 180?
@TimothyFluegel
@TimothyFluegel 29 дней назад
Yes. There's just a couple extra plates in the 180. At least I would think there is. The 190 does for sure, but I've never had a 180 apart. You want to check your book for total amount of shims to start with. It may be different than the 19. But the concept will be identical.
