i caught this line up in 1989 ?. it was on the coast in Maine ,and a day of downpour had moved in .ill never forget watchin the rain bounce'in 10 inches off of Gregs keyboard top in the rain . the boys never even blinked , never missed a beat , it barely stopped raining the whole show, and they never stopped for it once .
The best shows to ever witness in person. It was like that to the end. In the early 2000s I’d go to the Wanee Festival in Florida, where every year they showcased on the main stage on Friday and Saturday. Each night was a completely different playlist. Though they weren’t even top 10 on bands I’d loved over the years, there truly is not a better show or a better time to be had than at one of their concerts. I’m fortunate I got to see them about a dozen times over the decades. I’m serious, the best time ever!
This concert really brings up some wonderful memories! I'm so glad to have it to listen to today! Dickey will forever be in our Hearts and Souls!!! 🙏✌️❤️🎵🍄
This is an amazing set, hitting all the notes. They look happy, in fine form...every one of them. And Dickey is on fire. What a blessing to have gotten to see these masters. RIP Dickey...and to Gregg, Butch, and Allen as well.
First show I seen was at ROOSEVELT STADIUM JERSEY CITY NEW JERSEY it was shortly after BERRY OAKLEY PASSED DICKEY BETTS (GOD BLESS HIS SOUL) handled all the guitar work Chuck Levelle played keys along with GREGG ALLMAN man it was my first concert ever and with the (MAJICAL TRIPS GOING THRU ME) it was a great time I must have seen them at least 30 times especially when they had the BEACON THEATER NYC Booked every March for years. This Germany show is top notch I just wished you mixed the total Volume much louder! PEACE LOVE AND HAPPINESS MOST IMPORTANT ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN IS BY HAVING JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR AMEN
Absolutely one of the best versions of Elizabeth Reed I’ve heard! Even though Dickey breaks a string, this lineup of ABB they were amazing! Rest in peace brothers!
Rick Wakeman! Holy sh$t I’m freaking the fk out! This is amaze BALLS!!!!❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 My dad would be so proud of me! Yay! ROCK ON BABYYYYYYY🥳🤩🥳🤩❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 long like Greg and the Allman Bros!
I thought this version of ABB rivaled the original/ firing Dickie Betts was the equivalent of pushing the pilot out the door of a Trans-Atlantic flight !!!###
Thanks for uploading this entire set, just incredible! I've been listening to "Blue Sky" from this concert for over a decade and it's by far my favorite version. The two solos by Warren and Dicky are amazing!
Several years ago (maybe ten?), I picked up a live Allman Brothers cd (from this era) at a thrift store (it says 'Part One' on the booklet). When I took out the booklet to look at it, there was another one on top of it, for the other cd that wasn't at thrift ("Part 2"). Couldn't believe my eyes when I folded it out and saw that it'd been nicely autographed by Greg, Dickey, Butch and Jaimo. I'm pretty certain the signatures are authentic. Now more than ever, a treasured possession.
@@Petequinn741 i been listening to Allmans ,Sabbath , j N E WINTER , zZappa , the WHO , D . P URPLE ,Canned Heat , ETC , SINCE 1974 . i think that Al WOODY ,WAS the last good , with that 60 70 s tone , rite volume , rite gear sound .
I saw the Allman brothers band before Duane and Barry died and watching this is a reminder no matter how good you are, you can be replaced. All good life goes on !!
The best bootleg Allman Brothers I’ve ever seen. Man that was all 12 cylinders running on down the road & a beautiful recovery on a broken E string to boot !
Love this line up of the ABB. Great version of Blue Sky. A song Dickey wrote for his girlfriend at the the time, Sandy Blue Sky Wabegijig of Native American Desent, whom he later Wed.. RIP Dickey. Thanks for All the Great Music & Memories you gave us. See you & the Brothers in the Next World.,
Yo, they're feeling it during this show! The folks in the audience got the ABB on a good night. I've watched a lot of ABB shows from the 80s & 90s recently, and this is one of the better performances, in my humble opinion.🙏
@@loydtonsing4416 we'll just have to agree to disagree. Im not saying this to hurt your feelings either, so think about the things you post before you post them.🙏
@@loydtonsing4416 also, if you're as drunk as Dicky Betts was during some of those shows, that could be why you think they're "always on"? Even the members of the ABB are imperfect humans, capable of fucking up their parts... especially if their high & drunk while they're performing.
This is one of the greatest shows ive seen there all hitting the note dicky and warren are on fire Dicky's on fire god bless you brother u always put a great show on rest in peace well deserved
well not really ,but what do want for nuthin , i think its amazing we get another generation of Dickey s guitar playin Allman is incredibly similar to his father in style and thats a blessing .
Besides the original lineup, this is my favorite. Now with the passing of Dickey, I'm starting to feel my mortality. Started listening to ABB back in 1973. My all time favorite band.
#ugottalisten2b4udie Südwestrundfunk TV 1991 Jai Johanny Johanson, frequently known by the stage name Jaimoe, is an American drummer & percussionist. He is best known as one of the founding members of The Allman Brothers wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohne_Filter 1990s German television series
Yes, Quinones was 28, he's a really top percussionnist ! (The bass player was Allen Woody and all other was founding members of the Allman Brothers Band.)
Blue Sky sounds wonderful on this sunny May day! Warren Hayes turned out to be a fantastic addition to our Allman Brothers. The spirit of Duane burns brightly!
Think of all the great guitarists who have been in the Allman Bros. Duane Allman, Dan Toler, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Berry Oakley, Oteil Burbridge ,(I think) Goldflies (Sp)- and a couple of bass guitarists I have forgotten.
I call this era, the second coming of the Allman Brothers. After Dickey was fired that was the end of the Allman Brothers. They were still a great band but not the ABB in my opinion.
Toler and Betts . for me anyway . Toler was quicker , faster . Betts was also quite the virtuoso . but Betts played with Duane and Betts retained that older , bluesy and gritty feel which i prefer in guitar playing . but "to each his own...Its all good" . toler and betts were one of the greatest duos ever .
I agree that Toler and Betts were wonderful together. It's probably obvious that Haynes seems less fast because he plays lots of slide. I don't recall Toler.playing slide at all. Duane also played slide with Dickey. Contrast, besides style, is great against Dickey's.
Gregg Allman is the best Blues singer ever!!! And certainly lived, and I felt it!! He just was amazing to keep the way lived! RIP Greg, such a gentle people him and with dignity and kindness. And loved his fans, and loved playing, so wonderful for a blond white man!! Wake mama , turn your lamp down low!!
People loved to Greg he never cocky always gentle, kind soul!!! ❤❤❤especially Howard Stern and Gayle king, harsh interview’s, and smiled and was kind!!
