Isolating is not a bad thing. My kids are older and they have moved out and it’s quite peaceful and i was never a partier so i like my isolation when possible. Holidays are for kids to me its another day. I guess after spending Christmas in vietnam i like being alone. Its hard on me and i need time for my feelings. I do follow you and enjoy how you and Dakota like your alone time. My best friend actually my only loyal friend is my Siamese cat named Pearl. We just bond. Stay safe and healthy and well Artie 😊

I honestly got a litte stressed watching you talking about how you have all of these things to get done, and then your neighbour insists you to come over. I mean its great that they care, but i feel where you're coming from. I spent/spend the christmas alone now, and that's my choise. I could be with my sister and her boyfriends family this christmas, but they're in another city... and i cant deal with the traveling and being with so many people and kids i dont know... plus i go back to work tomorrow. Sometimes you need a break. Going to the neighbors and relaxing for a little while might be good for you. A thought: try making a list of what you need/want to accomplish and the time by which you need to do each. Break them into smaller components, and check them off as you get them done. This might help you get the stress into a manageable state. Then again, I could be wrong and this will not suit your personality. 😜

I typically get 4-5 invitations for Thanksgiving and Christmas but politely say no. Most think when you are alone - you're lonely which is not true. I prefer to spend time with my two dogs (Karelain bear dogs). Years ago, I created my own "Family Traditions" Three mile Morning walk in the woods with dogs, decorate an outside living tree with season lights, Small turkey cooked outside on the grill. Etc... Make it uniquely you.
