I'm always weirded out by anyone talking about how come people don't look how we looked in high school. Why are you at your big age wanting someone to look like a teenager?
I left high school in 2012 at a size 8. I've doubled in size, lost weight, picked up and quit smoking, started a business, earned multiple degrees, developed a backbone, learned my worth, started speaking my mind, and found out what styles look best on me....and I am 100% okay with that.
Right. I was always skinny in school and wished I was thick lol. I had best friends right after 2 years of hs were barbies in hs but just 2 years out got Hella big 200+ but back 2 me I went up n down like ya.

I got ridiculed in high school for being skinny. That is what they called me. I am now thick. I had someone say what happened. I had cancer twice. People don't know your story. Grateful to be here. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 Right in my 50s now.

@@Dreamsareareality oh I've embraced it years ago. I just wish I could find my tribe of people who will love and accept me for the way I am. Because I haven't found that yet. I'm here in the south and there are a lot of loud black people here. even my own living siblings dislike me because I was different than them. And my older siblings is who made me this way by bullying me at age 12. I was a social extroverted child with no anxiety. But after my older sister and brother started bullying me my personality changed for the worst.

Pushing multiple babies out definitely changes your body. Lost a parent recently. Depression is real and it will change your body for sure. Thank you EJ for speaking up about the real truth of being a woman.
My condolences to you, my Daddy left this earth a year ago, its hard because he was the parent that got me-didn’t try to change my personality. I hope the pain becomes manageable over the years and we’re left with all the beautiful memories. Blessings to you and yours. ✨🙏🏾❤️

Now I'm looking at your picture and from the looks of it the years haven't been nice to you. I can almost garenteee you drink alot or use to. You can look at you and tell. This is what we're talking about. Making life altering decisions and thinking you won't have to answer for it. Make better choices that's the point of what they're saying
I’m about to be 35 and I JUST started loving up on myself. I had a huge weight loss journey in my early 20s (lost 92 lbs) and I was still unhappy. I’d look back on pics and be like “now why in the world did I pick myself apart like that!? Never again”. Ive since gained a little weight which I like and I love my body as it is. I’m doing better health wise (exercising, eating) for ME which has me approaching it a totally different way this time. If I lose 10lbs or don’t, I’m still fine. Lol I would like to extend this to all the young people feeling similar. Work on the mental and love your body for what it does not just how it looks.
I was actually pretty close to being morbidly obese in high school compared to where I am now, so I am GRATEFUL to not look like my high school self 😂🥴
I'm not big and never have been, but I see it as karma for those "mean girls" in high school who were skinny and thought they were all that. Those girls, and boys, who thought they were "it" in high school and now not so much 😂
Was looking for this comment because I was bullied about my weight in HS and all them heffas is as wide as the door now and have a lot of kids. I don't feel sorry for saying this either!😂
I was a cheerleader in high school and looked fine, but my spirit was in tatters. Depressed, very far from The Most High...I wouldn't go back to those days for anything. Repayment for mean folks would be if they stayed stuck in immaturity and misery, that's worse than gaining weight 🤣
Just had a 40th HS reunion and honestly I felt a big “ha ha” about some of the once “popular” and “pretty” girls looking like death weighing …a lot. Yeah…40😮….I had to do the math when contacted about it. I just knew there was an error. 😂😂😂
I was teased for being skinny in high school. Now, I'm shapely and young folks pay money to fill jeans the way I do. Caught shade from my peers because I never dyed my hair- just let it gray as I aged. Now, I am repeatedly told how beautiful my gray hair is. Bottom line: you will never be able to please all of people all of the time, so only focus on pleasing yourself. Your self worth is found within, not in a mirror.
I actually look better than what I looked like in highschool. I found what worked for my hair and skin so both are hydrated. I was bone thin in highschool so I needed some weight anyway. Everything just worked out in my favor.
I had lunch with my best friend from hs today. We graduated in the 70s. How we look is: glad to be here. Anything beyond that is as trivial as high school.
I was someone who was bullied incessantly in high school by the ‘popular kids" almost ever day I knew as the quite one who didn't speaks at all I had extremely bad social anxiety I was going through a depression back than. so high school kind of of had damaged me afterwards. My whole Glow had came years later , and started taking better care of myself today. I'm more confidence now then ever . I would never attended to my, 10 years HS reunion the past is all dead to me I've had moved on with my life .
Having kids, hormones crazy, stress in every area of life, depression, snacking when stressed and eating the food you want to satisfy you at the moment will take a toll on you.
That’s why it makes me sad when people talk about fat people in high school. We’re not all just going to high school and having regular high school problems then going home. Even teenagers are dealing with adult problems but young people can be so callous and mean and they never even give it a second thought.
@@LoveAndSnapple I agree. Teenagers today definitely deal with adult problems and situations. Then the mean ones at school that talk about other kids have no idea the impact those negative words have on them, on top of everything else personal they are going through. It’s sad when you think about it. I would tell my kids if you don’t have anything positive to say, just hush.
I'm so glad I'm still fine at 40. I eat well and have abs, I stay on top my health, and childfree and stress free. I see so many folks from school that look a mess, but hey life still life, but grateful to be in the lucky few, that's still hawt!
At our 10 year class reunion ( my husband and I went to high school together) and many of us looked very similar to who we looked at graduation. 20 year reunion was a whole different story. Be happy and grateful for what you have and who you are. Mom jeans are so much more comfortable than skinny jeans. You can go to a buffet and truly enjoy it in mom jeans.
This was me! Skinny to a 🥔. Hormones, divorces, kids, bills, stress and tragedy will do a number on you. But I’m still kicking and raising my kids, i still got my edges and trying to be the healthiest I can be at this stage in the game.

Not only did I NOT get any “pandemic” money, but, because I’m a nurse, I had to put my life in danger and nearly lose my mind every day. The mention of the pandemic makes nurses get that one eye twitch from PTSD!!!😡
Thank you nurses for sacrificing and serving our community with pride! I appreciate all of you, am a hospital administrator and always admired nurses & physicians I work with. OMG!!! These comments make me see my place of employment in a different light. Our nurses at the hospital got Hazzard pay. They stopped taking days off too. Just wouldn't go home because their pockets were getting fat.

So I went to a magnet school and my 10 year is next year. Saw an old homegirl in the gym and within a couple minutes of catching up starts to talk down her "regular" life. Im like okay but you survived the pandemic and are raising your child tho right? Blessings. We are doing more than enough

I honestly think I look better now than I did in 1997 when I graduated high school. Sure, I have a few more curves, and my knee sometimes hurts for no reason, but I was a tom-boy back then who didn't yet know how to embrace her femininity and dress the body she had. But somewhere in my early twenties, I discovered that not only was I a girl, but I was cute. So I started dressing a lot better, and in turn, it made me feel a lot better. Now, I'm a mature woman with some life experience under my belt, and I can say that I look good.

I wear wedges because I have worn-down the cushion on the bottoms of my feet, therefore, 3-4 inches heels are for special occasions only! And only for walking from front of the restaurant to my table! 🤣🤣🤣

I haven’t been in high school in 30 years. And I send love and light to anyone who is personally vested in what other people from high school look like, even if those people were mean to and/or bullied them. I got way too much business to be concerned with anyone else. And as I race towards 50, how I look ain’t my primary concern, it’s what that blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and mammogram do. I am way more concerned about what is going on inside my body than the exterior at this point. Besides, I am ace with hair and makeup, I can pull out a cute look anytime. Cause, I do care a bit about being cute, I just care way more about being healthy. 😂
Yessss! This is an ENTIRE WORD. I just turned 40 and it's like all my middle-aged instinct kicked in. 😄 Excited about cleaning products. Grateful about making it through a pandemic. Praying my mammogram looks good. When I meet someone I'm wondering what that retirement do (and making my own do what it do in the meantime)? I was over the moon because of a perfect blood pressure reading at the doctors the other day. Can't be out here setting ourselves back 20 and 30 years talking people from high school. lol

It's truly a blessing to be alive and well these days! My husband and I both graduated high school 40 years ago and looking forward to attending our class reunion (Lord will). Yes, we have picked up a little weight....that comes with age and having children. But we're truly grateful to be here! Things are certainly going to change over the years.

You preaching with added comedic relief I appreciate you mentioning about some of us that have lost kids, I lost my child in the pandemic to an unknown illness and it has been trying. Still have my faith, my other children, my husband and friends but I definitely think this experience has aged me

Exactly! People like that need to grow up and stop living in the past. There is a time and place for everything. I was a girl then, now I'm a woman, wife mother and plenty of responsibilities. I don't want to look like a girl because I'm a grown woman now, a title I've earned. I hit the gym weekly to stay healthy because I want to be running around after my grandbabies one day so I'm aging gracefully loving my curves and lines, enjoying life because I'm doing me!

In June of this year it’ll be 40 years since I graduated high school. I’m 30 pounds heavier, wrinkled, a mother of a 21 year old and a wife of 36 years. I’m completely gray. I look better to myself now than I did then. Totally imperfect but completely content.
I would never want to be the same size I was in high school. I was very skinny and young! I’ve had 3 children and have gained n loss weight over the years! At the age of 50 rt now I’m ok with my looks and just so grateful I’m still alive! God bless you all! ❤❤🙏🏾🙏🏾
I’m in my mid 40’s. I have had two sons which my younger one was all most 10pds. That made me say (I’m DONE). Both of my sons are doing pretty good and away from home. No man nor husband YET. We don’t look like we did in high school because we are not CHILDREN anymore. We are adults. Stop expecting a 30/40 year old to look 16-18 years old. You want double the life at half the wrinkle price. Ain’t gonna happen! That’s an unrealistic expectation.

I was never overweight in school but I was bullied for being skinny and what not and now the popular girls that bullied me are overweight and have different baby daddies and look like shit and I’m 26, fit and doing good for myself. No babies and no stress
You couldn’t have said it better. I saw a person I went to school with the other day and he looked at me as if I was disgraced because I don’t look the same. I used to be slim and some thought pretty, I am now overweight from the burden of life, surviving, and I’ll never forget he shot me a look like I had committed a crime! like he was offended. As if I owed him money or something, that look. I actually thought it was disgusting of him to think he has some type of ownership over what I should look like, really offended me. So you couldn’t have said it better.
I saw a guy who I knew from school 20 years ago and he said to me “wow, you look…different” implying I looked bad. Without missing a beat I said “yeah…so do you” You should have seen his face, he started getting flustered talking about “yeah I might have put on a bit of weight” what a clown 🤡🙄 These men really think they look the same as they did as teenagers, meanwhile they have receding hairlines, pot bellies and premature wrinkles.

Some people is better of leaving in the past! When I went to my 20th HS reunion, even though we were all either 40 or almost 40, most of my classmates were the same ignorant fools! The “popular “ kids (ex cheerleaders & jocks) were still arrogant & drunks/druggies! The “nerds” were had successful careers because our parents kept us straight! The so called “cool kids” were either in prison, dead or on crack! It was amazing seeing the “awkward so called “ugly ducklings “ blossomed and looked amazing ! The bullies wasn’t there or worth talking too! Most of the people were the same! I never kept in touch with any of them and so glad! Life has brought us through roller coasters and I’m thankful that I had a great life regardless and love myself! At 60 years young my priority is protecting my peace by any means necessary ! True, I’m not as petite as I was in high school. I’m 30 years older. I’ve also had two kids, I have chronic fatigue, don’t smoke instead of eating, and sit for work. Basically everything you said. Bless those girls who look the same 30 years later, but that’s not my experience.
I look better now than when I was in high school. I can still sing, dance, run, jump, cook, and clean just as good or better when I was in high school. I was stressed in high school so being out of school from bullies and popular kids is going great for me. I have 4 kids now but the figure and metabolism is still on point.
I've seen a lot of those posts from people that were shamed by the high school version of the girls that "hit the wall" and no longer have the ability to look down on everyone else for not being cute and tight and petite- the mean girls that bullied everyone are now experiencing that "big girl" life and expecting grace and love and sisterhood from the same girls they bullied for it in the past.

I could be wrong but I feel like Kiely was chosen for the post because she has a reputation for being a mean girl (the type of girl who would make fun of your weight) The post is actually saying the mean girl is now the “big girl” that she would’ve been making fun of in the past.
Honestly, I think they meant more about the personality plus the size. She was the pretty girl in school who was mean to everybody and now she's just big and mean. That's how I interpreted it as. I think that we fluctuate in weight when we got out of high school. Some people get bigger, some people stay the same or become more fit. Everybody has a different journey. But again in this case, I think it had more to do with her being a mean person who ended up physically being the kind of girl that she would have bullied back in the day. We just know that this girl is a bully.
I agree with you. Then I started reading the comments about healing and not allowing that energy to keep following you and then I had to ADJUST my attitude. So I do understand that.
