Thanks for posting. This is a great addendum to the Alpha documentation. Had a bear of a time getting the transformer installed and wires routed to where they need to be internal to the amp. Couple of install, uninstall, reinstalls. Thanks again.
Checked out eham reviews. wow! What a piece of JUNK! Why people get all excited about legal limit baffles me. The 600 watt ameritron will do ALMOST the same on the other end (difference negligible). Is it the auto tune that gets people excites? I don't know, but if you can't tune an amp because two minutes is to much time to spend doing so maybe you should consider a Tokyo hi power. From my research the THP is a much better amp and offers no tune. Two 3-500z's cost much less than the $1000+ (emac) that this amp needs when it's time to replace. And according to eham reviews you'll not only need to replace the tube but much more. These amps are problematic! Alpha 9500-87a = JUNK JUNK JUNK! DO YOUR HOMEWORK. ALPHA VS AMERITRON. IT'S A NO BRAINIER IMO. If you need 1500/Watts go with the dual 3-500z ameritron. Good luck.
