My installer in the UK changed my 705d Splash screen and it starts with my vehicles Logo, + my Radio has DAB,apart from I can't change the front buttons Blue colour to Red etc, which is disappointing I'm very pleased with the Head unit 💕
The one reason why youd want a GPS unit is because your phone GPS only works where you have cell service. if you like to take your rig on long trips or into the back country, a built in GPS always works no matter what.
GPS isn't space based mate, it is groundbased, which is why you can lose it in the mountains. It doesn't require cell service, it's a different system.
I did have to buy a tuner and steering wheel controls. Depending on vehicle as mine is not compatible but the maestro data link allows you to be able to keep your factory Sirius Xm tuner and steering wheel controls as well as update your steering controls to use however you want
After watching CarSteroChick’s review I’m wondering, Do you have any touchscreen issues where it doesn’t recognize your touch selections. She had issues with The home button and equalizer graph adjustments.
I have no issues whatsoever with the touchscreen. Because of my year truck maestro is not compatible. I’m using pac audio for my controls. I think it is a cp5.
Annie aka CarSteroChick was testing different cameras on the 507. Do you like your backup camera and if so what model are you using. It looked clear in your video. I see you watched her video and I’m relieved you don’t have the same issues she was having. Maybe a firmware issue. I made it to the end of your video and now I know you covered that your truck isn’t compatible. I’m going to buy this model now that I know the touchscreen is working properly.
@@nvidiashield495 I am using a camera from Amazon which was truck parts or something along that line. It has the factory look but the camera is perfect

Are used a micro bypass that I bought off of Amazon. I think I got it for less than 10 bucks now the power inverter I bought was I believe $40 at O’Reilly’s the brand is green fuel 150 white power inverter and I have that hidden behind the dash, but other than that all you need is your HDMI and I recently bought a AT&T Harman spark that has Wi-Fi just so I don’t have to use the hotspot from my phone or tablet.
Which bypass module did you buy? And what’s screen mirroring like with an iPhone? I’ve got an alpine CDE-HD149BT and I like the fact I can just hook up one cable to listen to my music or audio from videos through the system - but from what I’m seeing on the ILX-507 you have to switch between usb and a hdmi lightning adapter
What bypass are you referring to? And I just use Apple CarPlay wireless which works flawlessly. You can use the usb adapter or by the Apple hdmi adapter. I have not tried either since I also have my Apple tv connected to the hdmi.
Hi Derek, thanks for your great review, i find it very useful as i'm interested in this unit. Now, in other reviews disconnection and screen responsiveness issues have been reported, have you had any of these issues? Thanks in advance
I have not had any issues with the screen on this radio whatsoever. There are a few things I wish they would have done considering it has the TIDAL app on the radio which uses Wi-Fi and with the new update with Sirius XM 360 L if you’re using CarPlay or android auto wireless, you can’t do them both together but other than that it’s a great radio
The only customization you can do is change the screen color. Wish their was more like the earlier units you could add custom splash screens and wallpaper
I'm having the same issue. Cable works fine but wireless won't work. I'll be doing the firmware update on the head unit tomorrow to see if that works. My phone is galaxy s21 plus on android 13.
@Derek Moore I did the update this morning and no dice. From my understanding you have to plug the phone to the head unit first and then after that it will do it wireless per research and alpine instructions. I clear the head unit of my phone info but this time paired bluetooth first instead of pluging it up. Now wireless android auto works like a charm!
@@davidhouk7454 that’s awesome. I really didn’t know that. I didn’t have a android so I didn’t know exactly what to do. iPhone just paired up like any other Bluetooth device.
