That's a lot of work for a sound upgrade! I have the Alpine premium audio system already. It sounds great!! Good video with lots of dash removal info!!
I installed this upgrade on my JL a couple months back and its sounds fantastic. Only issue was with the Alpine recommended gain settings, the system is wayyy overdriven with those settings. Before you put the bolts and the seat back, I recommend dropping the gains back some, and tuning by ear, if you’re fancy a multimeter comes in really handy. you’ll find yourself having to take the seat back off to adjust if you don’t.
@@itsmeyaboy...6322 Not yet its been cold in South Texas. It thumps with the volume level at 20, on average streets you should hear it loud and clear, curious about the highway test.
I already have the premium factory system, but I was very happy to see the steps I need to take to jam polyfill into every empty plastic cavity I can find to get rid of those damn plastic rattles... >:(
You guys should see if you can get Alpine to create a kit that lets you add the amp and sub along with the harnesses as an option too. I replaced all my speakers with mb quarts speakers that are specifically built for the jl but don’t have an amp and a sub. It would save a ton of wiring and be plug and play.
They already have! The PSS-23WRA is exactly what you're looking for. It includes the 8" compact powered subwoofer, 4 channel amplifier, along with mounting bracket and plug-and-play wiring harness! You'll also get a pair of tweeters, but if you're already replaced yours, you can always give them to a friend! www.quadratec.com/p/alpine/full-sound-system-upgrade-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt-pss-23wra?
Can somebody please recommend an upgrade to the "upgraded" Alpine system for the '22 Rubicon. Had a slightly better sound in my 16 Rubicon. Thank you in advance!
The jk needs this but personally I think the jl and jt wranglers sound perfect. Especially when comparing it next to my friends Broncos 🙄 and e en those guys agreed. . My tj needs an up grade though
They're right you know! Here's the link to the PSS-22WRA - www.quadratec.com/p/alpine/pss-22wra-waterproof-full-sound-system-upgrade-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-jk?
I just installed this kit in my 2022 and I’m not impressed. It’s real loud at 10, but speakers overhead crackle the music sounds eh and I really don’t feel that deep bass like I did with the same alpine bass box in my 2017. Guess I’ll have to go through all the wiring again
Update: when toggling the cluster of switches on the amp, the switch heads are white, but the manual has the correct position set as black, so just do the opposite and it will sound great.
IM in the process of of installing this… so you mean that the right position is the one indicated by the black rectangle in the switch diagram… so replicate that in the amp? Or do the oposite of what the black indicates?
If I have the 8.4 premium system from factory but switch the head unit to the Alpine i509 Restyle, I assume this kit will work with my Jeep then, correct?
I am surprised you ran the power wire through the floor drain plug.....I get it its easy but that plug is designed to drain water... the wrong place to put a power wire connected to the battery even if it is fused. other other wise very helpful video.
Did you happen to install this system and run it a different way? I’m going to install and was wondering if there was a better way than through the drain plug
I installed the PSS-23WRA and SPV-65-JLT in my 2019 JLU about 2 years ago. Is there an option to buy the 2 lower dash speakers and pods separately? I'd like to remove the last of the factory speakers and upgrade to the ones in the PSS-24WRA kit.
Yes! You can buy just the SPV-65X-WRA Speakers with dash pods separately - www.quadratec.com/p/metra/front-pods-alpine-spv-65x-wra-speakers-wrangler-jl-gladiator-jt?
Look, we want you to express yourself, okay? Now if you feel that only commenting the bare minimum is enough, then okay. But some people choose to comment more and we encourage that, okay? You do want to express yourself, don't you?
I don’t think the alpine speakers doing the good job because my 2023 Jeep Wrangler jl the speakers is stupid the sound for the first 2mins of the music is good after that is stupid!!the sound is starting low even the volume is high
These things are junk, blew up 2 subs in less than a month and had to tear it all out and replace, my installer and Alpine fought me and would not return them for what I paid preorated the amount. Will never by Alpine again ever!!
