10.5 fits exactly as a 10.5 45 Euro I wear a size 11 Brooks running shoes just for reference Van is right go 1 size smaller Normal width boot Fantastic comfort almost zero break in Super easy on and off I hate screwing with buckles etc…. My second pair…fantastic!! Perfect track/road duty I took one slide at VIR…zero damage

l got mine yesterday. today i will use it for my license class. in my case l went 1 size up because l wear those with thick socks. and it feels very comfortable and the best part is waterproof 100%

i wear a 13 in running shoes and between an 11.5 in cowboy boots and a 12 in dreess shoes. I wear an 11.5 in these boots. i have these vented in south texas and its extremely comfortable.

I wear a size 13 shoe in most sizes. 13.5 in Adidas lifters. Wide flat feet. Huge calves. Wear these in a 48 and they are slightly loose but for well. Calves barely fit, for this reason I'd say a big 13 should order a 48

Thanks for the review, Van! How much would you say these boots will stretch in width ? I have a relatively wide foot so my shoe sizes are across the board from a 10 wide workboot, 11 Jordan, 12 Puma. I have 2 pair of these SMX 6 v2 boots at home right now and I'm trying to decide which pair to keep. The 45 fit the most comfortable, little bit long. The 44 fit nice in length but they're a little narrow. If they stretch the 44 would eventually be the best fit but if not then the 45. Any advice would help wonders, Greatly appreciate your time!

They will stretch a little for sure. Whether it will be enough depends on just how tight they are now. Wear them and walk around on the carpet a bit to see if they start to improve. If the 44 starts to feel better after a few minutes they should be fine. If they do not then keep the 45. - Van

How cold of a weather is the ventillated one comfortable? And is the standard a good midle ground between the vented and the waterproof? I normally ride only above 15 °C (~60 °F). I'm torn which one of the three would be best.

I do not like to ride when it is below 60 F and only ride in the vented boots. Over the years I have used non vented but have found I prefer the vented. - Van

great review as always. one question regarding fit and sizing. i am wearing a 10.5D US in Red Wing Heritage Boots. Should i pick EUR 44 or EUR 45 ? best regards, Horst

I am wearing the 45 Euro and wear a US 12 shoe. Size chart would indicate a 46-47. I would suggest the 44 EU for you, should fit well. Thanks for watching! - Van

I wear 10 to 10.5 wide in almost every brand. Width is almost always my issue for comfort. I have heard that these should be what I look for. Anyone have some feedback on that?

Do these run the same size as the Alpinestars SP 1 V2 Vented Boots? I own the SP 1 V2's in euro 43 and wondering if I should order the same size in euro for these? Also, do these have better ankle protection than my SP 1 V2's? Thanks!

This boot offers more ankle protection than the SP 1 short boots for sure. I find the SMX-6 to run a little larger than the SP 1 boots. You will most likely need to go down one size to get the same fit. - Van

My question is the smx plus v2 as narrow as this one? Because i couldnt pull this one up at all in my size. Hoping i will able to use the plus. If that one just as narrow then maybe the tcx tx race? Is that boot any wider?

I would say neither the TCX and Alpinestars boots run narrow. I have pretty wide feet and get a good fit from both of them. If you need more I have found some of the Forma to offer fit that leans a little to the wide side. - Van

How'd you compare the comfort and protection of this smx6 v2 to dainese course out d1? is it worth the extra bucks (d1 is $100 more here)? i mean the course d1 looks superb and badass than smx6 for sure i love it, is there a huge gap between the comfort and protection. Im planning to use it once or twice a year aggressive track riding not a fulltime racer, and atleast once a month on canyon/mountain roads... or maybe the dainese nexus hmmm?

which version would you recommend for a place like Mumbai? hot weather year round but also monsoon for 3-4 months a year. these would be my only riding boot that I'll use regularly for commuting.

We recommend going down one size in these boots. The SMX 1 R runs true to size so you would go down one from that in the 6. - Van

It has been a while since I have worn the Dainese but I can tell you these run one size larger than marked for most riders. I wear a 12 US shoe and a 45 euro in these boots. - Van

Pretty sure there is a small allen screw on the toe slider you need to loosen to remove and replace. - Van

I would say they are average height for a full sport riding boot. Should come up to the bottom of the calf on most riders. - Van

I would be totally comfortable using this for some track day duty. Does it offer the same protection as the Alpinestars Supertech R, no it does not. If you are really focused on protection and concerned purchase the Supertechs if you can afford them. If you need to keep the spend closer to the $250 go with the SMX 6 Boots, they are a quality pair with plenty of protection. Great value for the money IMO. - Brian Van

you keep saying comfortable....I tried on a pair of smx 1r and they where just like a shoe...comfy as hell....so I got these is same size, and they are tiiiiiiiight. Hurts bottom of my feet walking around....feels almost like im walking on that shank......Am I missing something? Are you maaaayyybe implying "comfortable" when compared to other racing boots, and not average street shoes?

Sportbike Track Gear 11. I got size 45. Online said 45 was more like an 11. I tried the smx1r in 11.5 and was just a tad too big...but comfy as hell. These seem to alot different. Not the worst boots ive ever tried (Icon overlord) but definantly different. Dont seem as wide as the smx 1rs, and bottom feels less padded.
