Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon Gloves Review
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/al...
The Alpinestars SPX-Air Carbon Gloves are the continuation of one of the most successful glove lines on the road. For short cuff, warm-weather riding motorcycle gloves, there really are few options that can compare. Lightweight, durable, stylish, and relatively bank-account-friendly, the SPX Air Carbon Gloves are the epitome of a summer motorcycle glove. From the supple and durable full-grain leather main shell that has been augmented for airflow with 3D mesh, to the innovative carbon compound and injected TPR knuckle protectors, the Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon Gloves continue to solidify their position as the podium-topping, summer-riding, short-cuff motorcycle gloves of choice for many riders.

+RevZilla - Ahhhh ! :D Finally !! After literally having a detailed discussion about these with gear geeks at your ZillaCave , its video review is finally out. And I must say, these SPX's are Impressive for the technicality offered. Should be an Easy pick over the Celer, GP-Air, GPX etc.

Admitting the that you have a guitar problem is half way to recovrey... Thank you for a great review and I hear you about the extra protection for $20 more. I just got them in black. It ran the same European size up.

Got these a week back. Quite comfortable once broken in. As mentioned in the review, ordered a size bigger than I usually wear. I got the white ones. They look amazing specially the big alpinestars written on the side. The mesh near the fingers frays a lot due to the Velcro while wearing the gloves, so I be extra careful while wearing and taking off the gloves. Apart from that, its just wonderful

Harsh Sharma When you first got them, did the slider on your ring finger feel uncomfortable when you bent your knuckle? I just got these in a medium and it feels a bit uncomfortable right there when I flex my finger but I'm not sure if that will feel better once they break in or if I should have gone a size up
@harshs2674

Initially they they do feel a bit tight when you make a fist. It's all fine once broken in. :)

Any updates from A* as to why they went with TPR on the palm slider? I've seen this move (TPR instead of TPU) on other brands' gloves & I'm not sold on this. Every single glove with TPR sliders that I've tested and reviewed will grip any surface like they mean business. This is exactly the opposite of TPU sliders. Sure, TPR helps with impact & abrasion protection, but gripping the tarmac at speed is a recipe for destroyed scaphoids.

One of my favorite things about this glove is that they didn't cheap out and do clarino all over the palm.. the rubberized piece should be much more durable.. I am disappointed that they didn't "touch tech" the thumb and wrap the leather around the fingertips. I tend to stay away from mesh gloves because they fray so much... this should have been a no brainer especially at this price point.

I am badly Stuck. My purpose is street riding,commuting and specially and mainly sports touring.So should I get the SPX Air Carbon or the SP2? I really like the Sp2!But I think the cuff lenth is a bit long for Commuting purpose!The temperature lies between 35-40° C..I ride a R3 though. Please help me out to choose the perfect one.

If you have a sport leather jacket, then the SP-2 Gloves will fit better over the jacket cuffs. If you wear a textile jacket, then the SPX Air Carbon Gloves will be more comfortable. -DrewZilla

So what make these gloves better than the GP air gloves. Besides color options. Or are they not better. I bought these in yellow love the look but still haven't riden with them cuz I am on the fence still with the GP air gloves.
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 8 лет назад
The SPX Air Gloves are better and cost less. The SPX Air Gloves have a full leather palm, while the GP Air makes do with full and synthetic leather. The SPX Air Gloves also have more outer wrist padding and more pinky reinforcement. -DrewZilla

@RevZilla

Revzilla, I need your help. In your opinion which gloves are the best? These, or the Dainese Carbon short d1. Although money is not a problem, I just feel the Dainese are a bit overpriced for what they offer...
@RevZilla

You are paying a premium for the Dainese brand. I'd go with these SPX Air Carbon Gloves. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-spx-air-carbon-gloves

Hi Revzilla! Witch one do you advice for hot weather (above 25 celsius) spx or dainese 4 stroke evo? I used old smx 2 gloves size L. But new celer L size is to small for me (my hand is 23 sm) with size should i use with a* or dainese 4 stroke gloves?
@RevZilla
@RevZilla 6 лет назад
The SPX Air Gloves have more ventilation for hot weather, and they fit looser than the Celer Gloves. For both the SPX Air Gloves and the 4 Stroke EVO Gloves, I recommend size large (L). -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-spx-air-carbon-gloves *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-4-stroke-evo-gloves
