I think Code Veronica is pretty much guaranteed. Clearly there's a demand for it and Capcom has to know that. I feel like it will be a smaller project though, similar to RE3 remake RE1 I can't see happening. They already remade RE1 and I feel like Capcom has moved on from that.
I agree about the smaller project, as long as they include some of my favorite scenes! And for the RE 1, it’s tough to say. On one hand I agree with you that the game is there masterpiece in terms of what RE is. However on the hand, I feel like there’s a reason to revisit just one more time.
I think re1 will eventually get a remake in first person. Or if they do third person, it’ll have a vr version. Especially as vr continues to grow in popularity.
Code veronica needs a remake for sure since it has been 23 years. I would love to see Claire, Chris, and Wesker all in the same game again with the RE engine. And hoping Capcom brings back Stephanie Panisello to do the voice-over for Claire.
i think that leaked RE Apocalypse might be the code name for CV remake and as for them saying RE CV ain't in sight i remember capcom said the same thing about RE3 & RE4 remake. and plus capcom is having a ambassador program for an un-announce RE game next month in JAPAN' New york' & L.A. and whoever join will have to sign N.D.A . and you at the capcom leaked list Apocalypse fiscal year is 2023 so something is gonna be announce this summer.

I prefer an outbreak remake over code Veronica it was my least favorite in the series outbreak is a masterpiece code Veronica had a bunch of problems some of the bosses were a nightmare to play
Exactly, one of the hardest in the series and one reason players don’t like it😂 The problem would most likely be fixed but I understand the want for Outbreak. If they release Outbreak I think that game’s servers would be up for a LONG TIME

They already just said last month in November (2022) there are absolutely no plans for it and it is unlikely. What people are not understanding is that it's not that simple for a variety of reasons, the biggest being is that it is actually a native Dreamcast game that was developed by SEGA, as most of Capcom was busy with Resident Evil 3 in 1999, RE Code: Veronica was the end result of that seperate Sega Saturn project that had moved over to Sega Dreamcast development by 1999, it was largely outsourced to Sega for development (including the entire soundtrack) via Nex Entertainment (then another Sega contractual studio which recieved full Sega resources), who wanted another key IP for the Dreamcast's early to mid 2000 lineup, as most of Capcom were still busy with RE3 on the PSX. So it began life as a Sega Saturn project before it was moved to Sega's subsequent hardware (Dreamcast), so its root origin was intended as a sort of 'apology' to Sega owners after the Saturn version of RE2 would not ultimately be completed at that time because there wasn't a satisfactory straight port, and they thought it would be better to completely start from scratch due to being on a completely different system that write very differently. So this sort of puts it in the same boat as Soul Calibur (1999), which also recieved internal Sega support, and why the first Soul Calibur to this day has still never received a true port of the Dreamcast original, just a cut down port with various modes and features taken out, for mobiles which was then later ported to digital only platforms. There was also originally planned to have a backstory involving the Nazis who fled following the war to an island in RE Code: Veronica, though due to a ban in that particular part of continental Europe on using Nazi imagery (Germany/Deutschland), it would risk being banned in that nation. Though it did instead retain the association with some of the British aristocratics with a core focus in its association with the Umbrella corportation, and so from Hilda and Hilbert Krueger came Alexia and Alfred Ashford, with the setting on an British overseas protectorate territorial base (Rockfort island) set in 1998. Just because Dev 1 said maybe doesn’t mean they have to. Another studio could easily do it like M2 or even a SEGA studio. Code Veronica X is the definitive Edition which was on the PlayStation. I’m not sure SEGA’s involvement in that porting but that tells me it’s possible for the same to be done in the future with a remake.
@@PurpleHerb It's a similar situation with the Bayonetta series, which is a SEGA IP, but Nintendo funding kept the sequel afloat when Sega was considering postponing it or even cancelling it for the time due to another Western restructure in regards to Western and non-internal outsourcing studios, as a result, Nintendo offered a deal that would continue the same development trajectory to keep it on course to meet its original targets so long as it was kept exclusive to the Wii U (it was never specified for how long), and then Nintendo had some of their staff work on it and owned almost as much assets in the Bayonetta 2 game as Sega did via Platinum Games (the intro is quite jarring when you see the Sega and Nintendo names featured in different areas of the environments), which Sega originally funded and developed via Platinum. Since then, Sega has re-released the original 2009 Bayonetta several times since, but they've never touched Bayonetta 2 since, and even less likely to with Bayonetta 3 (as Nintendo will have even more involvement with it supposedly than they did with Bayonetta 2), so this is the closest equivalent, while Capcom did for a time re-release Code Veronica (probably with Sega approval whenever the opportunity came, and this was for the 6th gen consoles after the Dreamcast original and then in 2011 for the digital platforms like XBLA and PSN), they were never so eager to re-release as often as the numbered mainline installments, in the same way Sega has released their original Bayonetta IP but never the sequel.. In regards to the Code Veronica ports though, it's a common misconception (at least to most Western audiences), because the ports were actually toned down in several aspects in the sound and texture department, while the X version was also released on the Dreamcast (just not localised in the west in the US) and it was called 'Biohazard CODE: Veronica Complete (Kanzenban)', which as well as including the extra 9 minutes of cutscenes in native sharp Dreamcast drawn clarity, it also had none of the toned down VRAM textures, pixilated artifacts and compressed sound clarity that plagued the non-native ports on other platforms - this was also due to the fact the Dreamcast uses SEGA's own proprietary GD-Rom technology - on two disks with no compression of video and sound necessary to fit it all onto one disk, and also because the Dreamcast had double the video RAM that the PS2 had, as well as utilising the 'OIT' (Order-Independent Transparency) - which the Dreamcast had a native competence of as well as being a pioneer of, and of course a richer, deeper and more vibrant colour palette that avoided the more 'washed out' look of other 6th generation home consoles. This was even more especially significant and noticeable when you used the VGA box output for the Dreamcast, and since then, the even greater DCHDMI chip has been released which enables the Dreamcast to output a true digital internal signal via HDMI with the richness of the sound supplied with it at the same time. 1:23 This is what we have come to: people feeling so entitled that they can call Capcom "pure evilness" for cancelling their unauthorized Code: Veronica remake. Guys, that's Capcom's property: you had no right to mess with it in the first place, it's just as simple as that. I am a big C:V fan and I'd love to see it getting remade with modern tech, but the whole "if the rightful owners aren't going to do it, we will" attitude is wrong at its core. Do you want to become indie game developers without some large company send you a C&D order? Try and come up with an original game, don't try to get attention by messing with someone else's work.

I think people are misurenstanding too much: its not because they made RE2 / RE3 and RE4 that they will remake 5 and 6, the reason they released RE2 and RE3 its not for the fans, its just for release RE4 Remake since its their most cash grab game of the franchise. But obviously if they remaked RE4 directly and not 2 and 3, they knew that they will get backlash, plus the "new modern audience" that they are trying to attract in the series for more cash grab, they cant play tank controls and there are no way that they release the classic ps1 games for attract them, so they decided to made an modernized remakes of 2 and 3 just for a quick summary of the story so they can play RE4 with Leon, Leon and more Leon focus, RE3R was an garbage remake for that reason. Maybe RE5 could be have a chance but RE6 its almost impossibile for the current capcom because they are too lazy to make all the assets of RE6 in RE Engine.
I always thought Capcom would used the remake as an oporunity to reeboot the story past Resi4. RE5 had nice stuff, but the coop was misplaced and the bastardization of Wesker (along with his death) was of poor taste and wasted potential. That's why I also was expecting to see a remake of Code Veronica BEFORE "4"... Of all the games needing a remake, Code Veronica was the one realy deserving one. (The bestiary was lacking... I'll never stress this enough)
IF there’s not a Code Veronica remake, then I hope in RE5 Remake Wesker survives. Like I mentioned, he’s the series main villain and to have him in two remakes (4&5?) that would be devastating😅

This is one of the reasons I wouldn't want it remade, Sega owns much of the in-game assets of RE Code: Veronica too including the entire soundtrack of that particular title, but the remakes have been fairly underwhelming at best and dissapointing compared to the original native versions for many, but I wouldn't want it changed to appeal to nu-age woke lefties who're now trying to involve themselves in the gaming industry and have Capcom be like Disney, where it is remaking every past production to 'Wokify' it. You can still enjoy it for the way it was originally intended and its like a time capsule, before western society began to go downhill and regress.
@@PredatorUpHill there’s a chance Revelations 3 could be Code Veronica. So they could get away with the title and the assets im sure they can work around with. Unless producing this remake would cause legal battles with SEGA I don’t see the issue. And nothing happened with Darkside Chronicles and the Code V story. For me, most newcomers don’t know who Wesker is (my favorite character) and should he appear in RE4 players will become curious. Chances are once they will see how old Code V is they won’t play it. Furthermore, if Capcom were to do RE5 Wesker would only be in 2 of the remakes and I believe he has more to offer. CodeVX Remake would help set up for the Chris and Wesker finale while also showing the events after RE2 with Claire. I think it’s a win and so do most people, yes, it will be challenging because of the new Woke approach especially bc a character cross dresses but think of all the money Capcom could earn!
