Still kind of funny how classical artists often didn't sweat over what to title their songs. Imagine a modern artist just naming their big hits "EDM Song #4" or "Diss Track With a Heavy Beat"
Fun fact, it’s actually because back then musicians made “Absolute Music”, which was just music for music’s sake without any specific outside inspiration. And then Vivaldi showed up with his “Four Seasons” and introduced the idea of “Program Music”, music inspired by an outside element. But Program Music didn’t really take off and become popular until the 1800s, so that’s why most if not all music before that time were named like “Symphony no.5 in A major” or whatnot.

For the people commenting, Altare said last month when he arrived in Japan that he didn't bring his cello with him. So, the cello he's playing now may have been provided by Cover for the showcase.
Bro when he was saying the name his voice sounded exactly like the announcer on the classical radio station (the NPR one I think I dunno know the station number anymore but when I was a kid my dad would always listen to it) regis has such a calming voice in this video
Maybe add a couple phase connect girls like uruka playing violin and the new girl from jp branch clara on vocals as her ave maria performance is one of the best if not the best of any vtuber
Don't discount Altare's senpais. Rikka and Izuru both play guitars. Izuru is also multi-instrumentalist too - he can play the piano, ukelele, and bass. Temma (I believe Shinri also) can also play the piano. Miyabi can also play the bass. Gender equality, please.
The video is just a hair behind the audio and it's a little maddening, I don't think this is virtual, I think he has an actual cello. Also the audio needs to be delayed by a fraction during these instrumentals or the rendering needs to be running on a beefier computer.
You don't need mocap gloves, necessarily. Markerless tracking and finger tracking is already absurdly good or even directly competitive with other options. Not to mention, these showcases also have the benefit of small animation touchups in post.
By the way, that cello design is by Lampu Kuroro, I think? I saw 'em posting about being so happy to see what was originally a Live2D asset turned into a 3D one.
When they can incorporate more stuff into HoloEarth, that could be a possibility With the protolives that were already set up, concerts and showcases might be moved there instead so they don't need SPWN and such.
@@theoverlordbear I was thinking maybe more like they have different concerts, seeing how Connect the World and Breaking DImensions are going to be huge events. But not in person ones could be in HoloEarth.
As a former cellist myself, he did very good. My only critique is that he is very aggressive when playing. Too much pressure on the bow. Probably due to nerves.. These songs are light and airy. Less pressure, let the cello breathe and resonate, and he's there.
@@adrimarsinkthe criticism is fine. Altare is not full-fledged classical cellist so some criticism is fine. Don't act as if altare can't accept them as if he is baby.
yeah sounds a bit tense/nervous in the bow hand but still, solid performances despite that. Especially liked the different tone colors in the swan rendition.
The one immediately comes to my mind about transforming motion capture to animation is the making God Of War 4. The dev made a video showing how they turn Judge and Suljic into Kratos and Altreus.
I think Altare is not a protagonist. He is the cool, handsome bestfriend/rival of the protagonist who is always one step ahead and has cool shit to show off.

As a violinist myself, this is my first time I've ever seen a Vtuber have their own 3D-Cello (And animated!) like this. xD This is immensely wonderful, and I definitely look forward to seeing more music like this. =D
@@andikim1498 I just saw a performance now, and it's actually really good! The bow-movement was well in sync with the piece he was playing which was great, and the tracking of the body from both him and the pianist definitely gave it a solid feeling of a "Vtuber Performance." If anything, I hope in the future, they can find a way to track finger-movement a BIT more better (Not 100% cause there is some pieces out there where I don't think even finger-tracking can keep up xD) and, possibly re-positioning the right-hand a bit more. But even then, because bow-movement/positioning was solid, it was very mesmerizing to watch. I'll look for a few more of their performance. I want to see if they've done any faster tempo pieces to see how much the bow-movement keeps up. =D

So far that’s his only 3d violin performance which was from his 3d debut 7 months ago. In non 3d, he plays the violin frequently and once did a violin practice stream. If you’re interested, there is a japanese yt video which compiled 49 min of his violin live play, titled “【作業用】セラフのヴァイオリン演奏シーンをぎゅっ！とまとめてみた” His birthday arrives in may, hopefully he does a mini 3d birthday live and play the violin in 3d again!
If i had auditioned for Holostars, I would have also done something like this. I play the viola, and have done so for near 15-20 years. I played The Swan as an audition piece around age 14 for a city youth orchestra and was accepted, so I'm really happy to hear Altare play it here. I would have also DEFINITELY gotten a duet collab together with him at least once. Sadly, I don't stream, so I'd never be cut out for it. But I love musical performance.
as someone who plays insturments, his intonation was rly good omgee. even tho the songs are more simple being able to play something so simple yet expressive is CHEFS KISS AAAAA GOOD JOB ALTARE

Man never seen anything like this I’m sure it existed already but cover tech is really getting advanced would love to see more instrumental performances or talents in the future. Wouldn’t it be sick if a new gen was just a rock band how rad would that be.
Always impressive to see musical talent like this in a Vtuber. Other than Luna with the piano/electone (she streams sessions a lot and has played in 3D too), I don't recall anyone else that can play music; or at least played it in their 3D stream.
Rikka and Izuru can too. Rikka's actually is the first one to use the new tracking for the guitar in his 3D stream and Izuru played both the guitar and the piano (he also plays the bass and ukelele in his singing) streams sometimes)
Iirc Sora can play the piano, Gura and Mio can play the ukulele, (I think) Kanatan can play the guitar, Kobo can play the guitar, and my memory is bad and I don't remember anyone else 😭
Suisei is blue and talented. Lamy is blue and SUPPERRRR talented (she has many qualifications). Pekora.......you could say she's talented in her own. Every blue is a talented liver and the orange is the rizzer.
