IMPORTANT IMPORTANT! READ! (:
sweat pants from WALMART! - $7
i forgot to mention the size you want to get. you want to get a large size!!! so its baggy on you! the size i have is a large. if you dont know what size you should get, i would try those sweats on first to see how big they are on you! the size you get is very important! if you get a size too small, you wont achieve the same kinda look...unless that is the look you want then...OKAY :D

thats up to you! some ppl dont want to have it super baggy so they just get their regular size and just alter the bottoms so its skinny. it all depends on how baggy the pants look on you!! since i wanted a baggier look, i went up 1 size. from a medium to a large.

@mizzstar21 its a rotary cutter. and i trimmed them after because that is just extra fabric that will cause bulk when you wear it

I made a pair our of my navy blue sweats, and they looked fantastic! They were so comfy and stylish. I'm now working on my burgundy pair, and it's looking good so far. Thanks for the tutorial xD

Thanks a bunch for this tutorial, I have now transformed atleast 4 of my sweat pants that were heading for the garbage to chachis, I'm well pleased, feels like I have a new wardrobe and a stylish one at that. I'm now itching to go out and buy different coloured sweat pants :) thanks again.

@Kellu1313 haha not necessarily. you don't have to use grey thread if your sweats are grey. but you should use a lighter color thread for light color pants and darker color thread for darker pants :P just don't use white thread on black pants because you will be able to see it.

@MerlzJ you can hand sew if all else fails! :P its really simple and quick using a machine though because its basically just stitching a straight line. i suggest getting a new machine or borrowing someones if you want to make other things butttt hand sewing is very possible! if you have the patience then just do that haha. and no, you do not need my rotary mat (:

Idk if you will ever read this but you have my sincerest gratitude, thank you! My go-to sweat pants are just so baggy and not cute at all. This tutorial is exactly what they needed =) Like many on here I do not have a sewing machine but I don't see why they are complaining I hand sewn it no problem and love the results =)
