@@Clause-lf6su Yes what you have said is true but other conflicts I think could have been prevented like the Korean war which would have finished very quickly without China's involvement backing north korea Kuomintang has indeed suppressed people but after looking at sun yat sens 3stages of principles for china this was kind of needed as Chiang Kai Shek had to destroy the warlords of china and unite china as a whole. If he head succeeded in the war as well, China probably would have evolved into a country like Singapore, a blend of traditional and modern values. I really liked kuimintange because Chiang Kai Shek had a very good relationship with my country India at the time. It is sad the communists utterly ruined the relationship and caused the war of 62
The Nationalists win the Chinese Civil War, and somehow North Korea WINS the Korean war this timeline instead being completely demolished? What? How does that make any sense?
As is noted in the video, in this timeline the USSR vetos the UN from intervening in the war. In our timeline, the USSR boycott the UN for a while since ROC Taiwan was then still recognized as China instead of the PRC. In this alternative timeline, there is no seperate ROC Taiwan, so the USSR does not boycott the vote, and thus the US-led UN coalition never intervenes in Korea. Without the UN, North Korea would have defeated South Korea pretty easily.
There would be censorship and oppression in nationalist victory China. At the beginning. The long term goal of economic and military stability would lead to less censorship and traditional style oppression. But it wouldn’t be liberal democratic. But it would be stable. More so than our China.
@@mewwwdye , hardly in 1 second. Russia struggled to destroy Ukrainian independence movements up until 1930s, they were too strong. The only thing that Russia exploited in 1917-1918 was the fact that Ukrainian political elites were uninified. If they were unified, Ukraine would have definitely survived and Russia wouldn't be able to capture Ukraine. 2022, when Ukraine is united, demonstrates what Ukrainians can do.
1:56 Why is Ryukyu Island a part of the USA? after the defeat in the civil war, the government of the South fled to the island like the Chinese government to Taiwan, but then why does this island officially belong to the USA? unless, after the destruction of communist Korea by China, the USA decided to reach an agreement with China on the issue of Korea, and so that there were no two different Korean governments, it was decided to make a referendum on joining the 1st New Chinese Korea. the last option was chosen because, first of all, Koreans generally do not trust the Chinese, so they will not want to fall into their Tiger's hands 2 independent Ryukyu would be a very small country not having too much importance on the international arena with only the rivalry of the USA and China, so they decided that it was better to join to the US so that there was no option for the Chinese and Americans to negotiate this island, they just wanted to close the topic in this way.
Even with famine and harsh policies the PRC could not quickly stop population growth. ROC would not have suffered famine nor do I think they would have taken any policy measures to decrease the birth rate, because the birth rate is an essential part of Chinese culture and that ROC would have respected (there would not have been the cultural revolution for example). In that case, a rough realistic measure is that by 2022 the Republic of China would have had a population of 2 billion or more. In fact in this hypothetical case it would even have been possible to incentivize the birth rate and we would be talking about 2.5 billion or more.
The China government has never committed any genocide. On the contrary, as a minority, it has special preferential treatment in China. If you have been to China, you will know.@@TURBOKAN_TR
Worse. TOTAL EXTERMINATION. Chiang believed that the Han Chinese RACE was actually the ASIAN MASTER RACE, and that minorities had to be WIPED OUT. Very different from Mao who constantly criticized Han Chauvinism and implemented affirmative action for non-Han Chinese people, like the Uighurs and Tibetans.
This is overwhelmingly inaccurate, there is no way ROC would become “the largest economy in the world” Republic of China would become the second India, where there’s rarely any growth or any western companies/factories moving to China. The only reason Many US company move to China for manufacturing was due to its country policy, living in a democracy society has lots of awful laws for companies such as strict copyrights laws, China is not too strict Even if they’re becoming largest, US would immediately stop ROC from becoming superpower like what they done to Japan in Lost Decades. The only reason Taiwan reform quickly than PRC is due to Cold War, if there is no Soviet influence in Asia, the US would not invest money to Japan, Korea, nor China. ROC Claim Tibet, it makes no sense that ROC has the guts to invade Mongolia which was former Soviet alliance state, and not invade Tibet, a weak state with weak economy. Gosh this is overwhelmingly unrealistic, it’s more unrealistic than the HOI4 mod, The New Order.
@@ObsidianSpearhead India was in ZERO position to resist that. India was already on bad terms with the West (which supported Pakistan) and as such was entirely dependent on Soviet aid. The Soviet Union at the time was ruled by a certain Joseph Stalin, who strongly supported fellow Communists like Mao Tse Tung. Unlike Khrushchev or Brezhnev, Stalin was notoriously rigid in his ideology and had a very POOR opinion of Nehruvian "bourgeois fakery". If Nehru had openly defied Mao on Tibet, this would have also been seen as a direct insult to Stalin - who would just double down in his support for China (leading to a crushing defeat for India) and probably terminate any future chance of a Soviet-Indian alliance.
Mexico get annexed by the United States. However it’s culture, people, and history become American. The Spanish language is allowed to be spoken and taught in schools as well as signs and laws have to require Spanish as one of its official language. Despite the USA lingua Franca is English.
In this fanfic NK and Russia has no nuclear weapons and industries are built out of thin air. In reality this Republic of China would be just another India.
what? you know that the roc would industrialize too right? it wouldnt be as fast and aggressive as the prc, which means less people fucking die from famine but slower industrialization, along with us investments into china, which the prc didnt allow until deng came into power, which would help their economy and industrialization more.
Think about Taiwan, if ROC in China is ,that would be 20 times big giant of Taiwan, think about top 100 strongest Companies including TSMC (semi-duct giant).
And no, industrializing a city-stste, or a small, dense country/colony is not the same as industrializing a country with the size and population of China or India. Even if a country can be industrialized by a Fascist/Liberal/Theocratic regime, the outcome wouldn't be the same; all the countries in the world combined haven't been able to lift 800 million people out of extreme poverty in the same timespan. The only way I see the KMT managing China into something that doesn't resemble a junkyard like Indonesia, Brazil, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Mexico, Bangladesh It would be a CIA operative going nuts and advising the KMT "lol Y'know what? Purge the landlord class, establish five-year plans and follow some dodgy industrial policy, that would be hilarious."
@@nabo1871 As a Chinese been living in China for more than 30 years, I suppose your point of view does not make sense, it sounds like the CCP propaganda, think about Soviet Union and North Korea, they also have so called "five-year plans", see what happened, the Five-Year Plan emphasized only heavy industries such as military industry, neglecting people's livelihood and light industry, and fundamental scientific research, which badly needs free environment. Actually, China's development began with reform and opening up since 1979, especially with the accession to the WTO. Comparing north korea and south korea, comparing east Germany and west Germany, maybe communist party has short-term advantage in developing heavy industries, while in long-term, they all suck.
Only 13 states declared US independence in 1776, as they spent the next 100 years busy culling native population to solidify sovereign control for further territorial conquests. In sharp contrast, when Mao Zedong proclaimed at Beijing, the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949 with overwhelming support from the peasantry across the vast country, most Chinese territories were already liberated by Communist revolutionaries whose opponents suffered a crushing defeat, noting that the incumbent Kuomintang Nationalist forces were better equipped with American support. Now, can you try convince me that the United States of America is a more legitimate power than the Chinese civilizational state? 😎 The cunning Western narrative of political legitimacy is nothing more than gross perversion of history. They might as well question the legitimacy of Qin Shihuang's brutal empire, following his bloody unification of China. Ironically, China is a name widely believed to mean the Qin dynasty, even though Chinese people no longer regarded themselves as Qin subjects. It is time to set the record straight, in their face.
As a Chinese, if KMT (ROC) won in 1949, I would definitely confirm that there would have no subsequent Korea war and Vietnam war, and Soviet Union will collapse 20 years before 1989, Japan will not be the most developed country in east Asia, far less middle east issue, far less terrorist issue, no Afghanistan war for both Soviet Union and USA, Mongolia will be part of ROC, etc.
