Yeah the Latin Empire gets hates on too much, even though it’s got a lot of potential, rather then the Byzantines them selfs and has a better chance to survive and thrive realistically.

@@ArcadiusHistory all of them were successors. But the emperor Alexios escaped to Pontus forming the state of Trebizond. The other 2 had no connection with the emperor. So Trebizond is successor. No problem, it was awesome.

They could not see the people in that area from themselves and excluded them. This was already the biggest obstacle to them becoming the successors of Eastern Roman.

They Remain a distinct cultural group like today, and would be a threat to Austrian expansion into Transylvania. they'd be united as they are today but would most likely go by the name of "The United Principalities of Wallachia, Moldova and Transylvania" probably Wallachia for short

I dont really see either of those being viable video ideas, as I really dont think Muscovy would go full greek nor would Morea survive, even as a Vassal under The Turks. though perhaps I could do one about the remnant cadet branch of the last Roman Dynasty in Northern italy uniting the region or something like that.

Well its the Latin empire, And Romania is named after Rome due to its Latin based language. and The Empire of Romania was a contemporary name at the time.

Romania would be a fair Assessment on how the Name of the country would change over the course of Centuries. Besides, There exists a Latin nation already called that, so its not that much of a stretch to say the Latin's/French Crusaders would've eventually called their new home Romania.

That's the point of alternate history innit? I dont focus on realism, its alt history, I want to make a video some would be entertained by.

You gotta admire people's lack of imagination sometimes. Also realism? Many people before the crusades started would have probably laughed at the idea of one Latin Kingdom establishing itself in the Levant let alone four or five, yet they were all established and managed to maintain themselves there, some of them for centuries surrounded by much bigger enemies. That alone is an incredible feat, I'd say during that time it was more like 90% glory for the Latins and 10% for the Muslims. Contrary to what many people say, I don't think even the Latin Empire was "doomed to fail" nothing is ever doomed to happen, and the Empire actually enjoyed quite a bit of vitality under Henry of Flanders. If he hadn't died prematurely, things might have been very different indeed.
