In this video, follow along as I trudge my way through my first real pain on trail. It hurt with every step I took, even with the terrain as flat as it was today. Just when I was really getting down, I walked up to see some Trail Magic! A woman and brought pizza and snacks and drinks and more and it picked me right up. My spirits were lifted and even though I was still in pain, I was able to enjoy the rest of the day as I hiked uphill alongside a beautiful but soft waterfall surrounded by bright green growth. 💚 I remembered that there's always something to be grateful for.

Twisted ankle = ouch! Hiker first aid is 20 minutes soaking in the creek when you can. It may not cure the injury but will definitely help mentally. Nothing can lift your spirits like sitting with your feet in the water while munching on a snickers. Hike on Hootie.

It is, thank you! Only was really bad foe about 2 days, then just uncomfortable for about 2 weeks.. lol oh well.

We're so enjoying all of your videos! Imhopeful you can rescue your data off your micro sd card. Bruce's phone stayed on the bottom of our pool's deep end one year in green, then cloudy water until I could dive down for it after 4 days. All the card's data was fine!

I’m enjoying your videos. Veteran Sailor here, planning to thru hike the CT this summer and the AT next February. I plan on vlogging as well so I can understand how frustrating it must be having the ssd issue. I hope you are able to recover all of your videos and pics. I started following you from the beginning of your journey with particular interest in seeing you and your dad on the trip and was disappointed when last had to drop. I was planning my AT hike with my daughter, but we decided that it would be better for her kids to wait until my grandson grandson graduates from HS in 2029 for her to make the trip so I will be hiking solo this time and hoping that I’m not too old to make the trek with them. Take care of yourself and I hope to see you reach the summit of Katadhin!
