My mom has Alzheimer's i have put her on keto and IF and taken her off all drugs. She used to only speak one word a day, now with vit B1, nutritional yeast and bile salts drastic improvement!!! Thank you for sharing your gift and purpose in life. You have transformed my life and my mother's ❤.
Wish I was tuned into this stuff when I was caregiving for my mom with dementia/alzheimer's. She was so worthy to have had the benefit of this. I'm heartbroken I didn't give it to her. She passed in 2013. Love her always.
I know what you mean. My father died in 2014. The sad part was the dementia for last 10 years which was torture on him and mom and our entire family. Always ate healthy as they were told: 3 meals a day with potatoes or bread at every meal. 😔 Evening snacks were oranges and apples 😞 The home they ended up in only had seed oils and ‘vegetable oil’, sugary desserts at every meal and for all activities. So sad. They paid a fortune for this place too. I know better, I better do better myself! Remember your mom with joy though, that is what she would want! 😄😘🙏🏻
It was fantastic you took care of your mom. Maybe you could investigate Functional medicine. This type of medicine was discarded when the pharmacutical companies were put in charge of US medicine by Presidident Franklin Roosevelt and his communist advisors in the 1930's. You could help others not follow what is basically AMA doctors ignorance due to pharmacutical companies rigid control over them. This goes for cancer, vaccines, heart attacks and strokes, auto immune diseases, etc. Almost all areas of medicine can be improved with functional medicine. God bless you for helping your mother and others.
After I quit a job of26 years exposed to chemicals I took milk thistle to help cleanse my liver ,I told my doctor and he scoffed at me and said don't take that,I don't see him anymore
They are also big pharma doctors. They learn very little about nutrition in their training and mainly about which drugs to prescribe for your symptoms.
I know a mid 60´s woman in Morocco who has Alzheimer and when her family started putting her on intermittent fasting she started to remember the names and faces better when speaking to someone on the phone
Fasting put my Lyme into die off and cleared my brain fog , so I can see how this would work . Good clean diet and not too much of it. My grandmother lived to 103 , always ate very sparingly, despite being a farm girl and working hard most of her life .
She should take Artemisia annua and Dipsacus fullonum (wild teasel root). The best is to make a tincture ( soak in 40%alcohol for 1 month). Until then, she can drink tea of that. Use at least 4 times a day, a tablespoon. Against pain she can drink dandelion tea as often as possible. Not befor bedtime, because it makes you pee a lot.@@rncine
Holy smokes!!! Im sharing this with anyone who will listen. A beautiful and sweet hearted woman I know already has moderate Alzheimers and I wish her mind could come back. I will share with her daughter. Thanks Dr.🙏
My mom had dementia and died last year. It was one of the hardest times of my life was caretaking. I wish I knew all of these tips for her. I miss her daily. Thank you Dr. Berg. This is such an important topic and I did not know that it started with the liver.
I wish I had had you as a professor in college, Dr. Berg! But it was like having our own private professor on RU-vid! You are marvelous! Love your presentation and all the information… It is incredible!
My dad is showing signs of Alzheimer's & dementia, he's an alcoholic and eats unhealthy, also a very negative mindset, now I understand the liver and brain connection 👍
My mother in law and father in law are both alcoholics and she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s of course they both say “that’s what all doctors say is for them is to stop drinking”?! Alcohol! It is a poison! And they will never ever stop! My complaint with the doctor who diagnosed her and told her to stop drinking didn’t offer a way to stop. It’s not easy even if they wanted to stop for these people who have drank all their lives. Unfortunately people with Alzheimer’s they tend to forget what was told to them. My father in law who also has memory issues was there during thar appointment denied hearing the doctor say anything about stopping drinking! They start drinking around 11:30am until 11 at night Of course he has a nip of whiskey before bed which is more like a tumbler and then in due course one of them will fall down on occasion depending if they ate anything that day and if they cannot get up so one of them will freak out and they call us. I just call 911 anymore as we (my wife) has a tendency to enable them. Living around these two is making me wanting to drink:( one thing about not having enough bile is mother in law had her gallbladder removed many years ago and she has had all sorts of issues with her gut and with her drinking her memory. So I’m guessing that probably has an issue concerning her dementia? There has been millions of gallbladder removals over the years. So that I’m itself probably is contributing the Alzheimer’s dementia pandemic? Peace
My 66 yr old husband just found out he has fatty liver. He started keto and lost 20 lbs. I am giving him milk thistle and vit D. I need to purchase bile salts for him as well. Thank you so much Dr. Berg !! You are the best .👍😊
@@monte68xNo; the 'sugars' in Fruit are okay because the fruit fibres and other Phytonutrients prevent Blood Sugar Spikes, and consequently this takes the physiological 'stress' off the Liver! The WORST Sugar is HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup); unfortunately Food & Drink companies often try to 'hide' this by using alternative names such as Glucose- fructose, or Isoglucose, Maize syrup, Glucose syrup, Fruit Fructose and Crystalline Fructose! Best to Avoid 'Energy' drinks!
You can do it!!! I am a certified Carboholic who’s lost 50 pounds via a Low Carb / High Fat (Ketogenic) way of eating. For 30 YEARS as a desk-jockey, I used to be ready to MURDER someone if I didn’t eat lunch by 12:15. Now, I skip lunch (and breakfast) every day. I eat in a 3 hour window. 6-9 pm. Once you do it once or twice, you’ll realize what a stupid concept eating three times a day actually is. Our bodies are MADE to eat only sporadically. I.e. when the hunt was successful. Read “The Case for Keto”, “The Carnivore Code” or “Grain Brain.” (The last, being a little grain-specific, but insightful regarding insulin and hunger.)
@@tangocharlie9291 That’s all great but their point was they are DIABETIC. Can’t just fast all the time & eat meals in a tiny window. Adjusting & balancing insulin/sugars when truly diabetic is a dance.
As a dental hygienist, we are also aware that the bacteria found in Periodontal (gum) disease can contribute to Alzheimers disease. Make sure you are getting your dental cleanings!
So true my dear, a friend 63 yr old male ignored tooth decay/abscess..turned nasty, into blood stream, then spine. 3months later, paralysed, told he'll never walk again. Don't FEAR your dentist!
@@marleeamato4944 I want to go to a dentist that can take these amalgam fillings out safely plus a couple crowns that have metal. Well actual one crown because one just broke off last week so nothing left.
I just learned that a prior coworker has been committed to an institution with Alzheimer’s. She’s only in her upper 50’s. They say she can focus for a minute or two before drifting off again. What can be done to bring this young Lady back?
If he’s losing memory, no tests are needed to immediately start this protocol. I would suggest the elimination of all FLOURIDE oral products and consumption of tap water. You should see a huge improvement in his memory within days!! MCT8 oil is wonderful, too.
What I’m seeing in clients is lowering of iron and calcium levels due to grain consumption which then leads to teeth sensitivity. Their D3 levels are low also. Then they head to the dentist because of tooth pain and he/she prescribed very high level FLOURIDE toothpaste and oral rinses. Their cognitive decline begins shortly thereafter. Eliminate the FLOURIDE, take the grains out of the diet, add seaweed to place iodide back on the thyroid receptors and implement a keto diet. They’ll be good as new in no time!
I am so glad you are talking about this. I am starting to forget a lot of things at a young age. This is new news to me. Thank you for all you do in these videos.
My Mum died of altzeimers at 83. The last 20 years of her life she was on very low fat diet, I can now see what happened to her. God bless you Dr for sharing your knowledge.
SO sorry. May I ask was she taking cholesterol meds? No need reply if this topic is upsetting. But just know that I'm aware of this cruel disease, that's growing in numbers daily.

My father was sound of mind until he started to get tube fed, that was when he started to get lapses of forgetfulness. I noticed that when he had raw protein like raw egg yolks and heavy cream, he would get better. Many times he was lucid and could remember and follow our conversations.
This is such good timing...As an academic person, my 1 real fear is about Alzhimers or Dementia. Was stressing about this yesterday. Thanks Doc. Love n Light from Mumbai
This makes sense. I have also heard that Alzheimers starts in the bacteria in the mouth. Since I read that, I literally floss, waterpik, Plax, and brush with a toothpaste dipped in toothpowder 2X daily, and oil pull with coconut/clove oil twice a week. I don't know if it will help, but my teeth are SPARKLING!
@@sweetpeace5 yeah, it's work... But even if it helps a little, can you imagine saving yourself from something like Alzheimers? You can even brush for a full 2 minutes and feel the difference... It's worth it 😊
Well, from what Dr Berg is saying, and it actually makes sense, you can help keep from getting Alzheimer’s if you take care of your liver. Since your dad had it, you are prone to develop it so takes Dr Berg’s advice, take care of your liver now! People look at me like I’m a crazy woman because I tell everyone that I a. So blessed to not only realize I have T2, but to be able to control my T2 through diet and lifestyle changes.. I am also starving cancer. I’ve had two unrelated cancers with no genetic predisposition. My cancer markers are going down. So, don’t wait for a “cure”, it’s already here.

I believe this because my husband was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis last year. One of the symptoms was forgetfulness. His liver has repaired but his memory is shocking.
Growing up I didn’t think the Liver played such an important part within the body, it was all about the brain, lungs and heart ... Now that I’m grown, now it’s ALL about the Liver y’all 😏👍✨
Get the book the end of Alzheimer’s by Dr. Dale Bredeson and consider getting the technology called brain tap by Dr. Patrick Porter and really embrace her nutrition, exercise intermittent fasting and mental attitude. Your brain is an amazing pharmacy if you know how to use it. Hindsight is 2020 but the healing power of the body is unbelievably wonderful.
Look into Dr wallach he's cured patients dementia through the 90 essentials nutrients and making them eat 6 -10 eggs daily due to the cholestrol, a leading contributor to Alzheimer's is cholesterol deficiency as every nerves sheath is coated in cholestrol so it's absolutely essential
It’s not too late to recover her if she’s not at stage 5. Implement changes now!! And remove all FLOURIDE from her diet and oral products. You should see immediate changes. Add 800 to 1000mg of magnesium to her lunch meal to help with that afternoon anxiety issue. It helped my Dad immensely. Praying successful results for her.
I salute you the spirit of creative work and constant activity in this distinctive channel, which offers everything new and useful. Thank you very much, my dear friends🇵🇸
If you go into a room and forget why you went in or lose your keys often...this doesn't mean you have Alzheimer's. If this were the case I would have had it since my twenties, lol! Sometimes we just become preoccupied, focused on other things.
That's the first symptoms of it though. I had all those before healthy keto and intermittent fasting. I don't have them anymore. I'm much more present now, rapid, take fast and good decisions, ect. Very different now.
My liver had high enzymes. I started Dr. Berg's detox drink. Two things happened. One it lifted brain fog. Two pain subsided. Bile salts helped almost immediately. Dr. Berg is awrsome!
Oh it's so important to know about it. This topic is really meaningful to me to help my parents 's health.I am deeply grateful your advice. Thankful DrBerg for your excellent explanation.
Respectfully, I've been walking into rooms, and forgetting why I'm there.. also losing my keys in the examples you said since my late teens, and early twenties
@Violett Fem yeah.. thats for the better. I have been changing it up as well with this Keto diet for the last 4 months. I also have ADD, so I don't know if possibly that has anything to do with it.
I'm so this right now, I'm a bit worried. My grandma had dementia, I don't know if its inheritable but I'm doing something about it now with beginner IF.
Thank you Doctor for educating us, cause and prevention ! instead of putting us on medications for life to suppress and create new health issues !! No one teaches these things anymore, thank you for being different from the rest of them..
Someone very close to me passed away from dementia a year ago and it was heartbreaking to watch. They lost the ability to swallow. Dementia is a horrible disease. I always felt that the long list of drugs they were taking were to blame. Thank you Dr Berg for this very important information.

My mom's condition is in advance stage, she is 82 and doesn't recognize me anymore since 2019, she gets emotional when she sees me but unable to say the name who I am, we live 300 miles away from each other, and due to pandemic I am unable to visit her as much as I can😔🙁
That’s so sad, I lost my mother 2 years ago to vascular dementia, it’s such a cruel disease, she was 93 but the last 4 years of her life were very sad as she didn’t really know any of her four children anymore and gave up eating and drinking. This pandemic has made everything so much worse for you. 😢
@@alyb731 : I am so sorry to hear about your mother. My mother can't eat herself anymore, she has to be fed, she has become like a small child, she plays with toys, sad to see her in that state ☹
If she is in a rest home I understand but don’t let a pandemic stop you from visiting loved ones at their home. I have went to my 86 year old mom’s house almost every day during this last year. Older people need their loved ones around not isolation. If it makes you feel better then sit outside during your visit or take her for a drive. Take care!

Congrats, I will suggest as i follow the keto and IF for 2yrs now. I've learned that intermittent fasting is much better for overall health, prolonged fasting more than 2 days it's for disease not for weight loss, it works but not a good idea long term. 2: prolonged fasting increase your chance of sibo like i got, people feel amazing at first and then run into problems because they change something, keep eating healthy and fast 16:8 or 18:4 and eat 2 to 3 meals you will lose weight healthily. I had to suffer months and I'm glad now i can spread information about people who don't feel good as they start the diet, gallbladder problem usually fixed with ox Bile, constipation is sign of sibo. And after you fix your HB1c and you're insulin sensitivity you can eat carbs in moderation carbs are healthy for you and as important as fats and proteins. Idc if there's not essential carbohydrate
My Mother got Alzheimer’s at such a young age; and maybe had it while carrying me to pregnancy term. She gave birth to me at age 34, then turned 35 months later. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s just a month after turning 51, and after being home over a year with severe bronchitis for over 3 weeks at the beginning; and then couldn’t remember things on her job once she had gone back to work after the 2-3 weeks of being home. So she began to slowly, yet rather quickly, not working because she was losing in her mind where she was and what she was doing much more frequently. I was between the ages of 12-14 as this downward spiral began and kicked in hardily. I have a brother 2 years younger than myself; and older sisters 8 and 10 years older than me. If I had known then what I’ve learned the last 25 years I would have increase diet health with dark, course greens and milk thistle for her. She grew up on a farm and ate fairly healthily, yet the cooking with aluminum had set in and she probably had high metal toxicity in her body. Only one other family member, about 20 years after she passed in transition, had it in her family. It was a sister just younger than her. What an awful dis-ease of the human body. I’ve experienced family, friends of family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances having all kinds of cancers and dying, yet, to me, this is so much worse as the cancer patients were still aware of life and could speak. This is truly a regression back into infancy with added turmoil. I don’t wish anyone to get this at all.
thanks a million dear dr. Berg. how happy I am to find your more than useful clips. you are super useful and helpful. thank you for your great youtube channel
My dad died 11 yrs ago at age 81. Hee was one of 11 children. His parents and most brothers/sisters all lived to be in their mid 90s. They all smoked cigarettes. He was the only one who got dimentia. I believe it was from losing my mom at age 61 from cancer, that led into a deep depression. The doc put him on an anti depressant, it made him feel awful and after a year he just quit them cold turkey. Then he got high blood pressure. He was miserable, stopped playing the fiddle, couldnt cope, so he started drinking. He became mean and confused even when he wasnt drunk. I think the zoloft, alcohol, poor diet, losing my mom, forgetting how to play his fiddle, all of it combined created his dimentia. Im 62 and pretty healthy, but wonder if i doomed for cancer or dimentia first....?
I remember noticing how yellow the whites of my dad’s eyes were getting years before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He had Macular Degeneration (wet) many years before the AD diagnosis. What a double whammy he had. I can’t begin to say how bad it was. The last 20 years of his life was utter misery and for my poor mom too. I always wondered if the Macular Degeneration and a Alzheimer’s were related somehow .
Can you do a video on fasting, particularly about, when a person goes on water fasting does the body use the fst stored in the organs first like fatty liver or if the body uses belly fat/regular body fat first? Thanks.
As muslims we just finished the month of Ramadan...over 14 hours a day 29-30 days straight. So many are talking about the benefits of fasting...we know that this is just 1 of the benefits and its time the world catch up. Thanks for the info!

I’ve known that plaque was the culprit for Alzheimer’s but not about the liver. Makes so much sense. Thank you! PS- people panic because they may become forgetful at times. That’s quite normal. I read a medical article explaining the more telltale signs of Alzheimer’s: is if you start putting objects like your keys in the refrigerator, and other personal objects in locations you wouldn’t normally place them. etc. It’s at that point you might want look into seeing if there’s a deeper problem.
Yeah, it happened with me, friend asked me what you ate today for lunch & I just forgot, sometimes I forget my old buddies names to whom I don't meet on regular basis, and I will take of liver, surely👍
