Cody is significantly funnier and puts out more content than other commentary creators, thus allowing him the room for more brand deals. I don't make the rules. Let this man eat.
this dude got food for life lmao. he still got money from his last tour + patreon + their music deal + their merch + their mugs + youtube videos + sponsorships in those RU-vid videos and in their podcasts. Also, him being funnier and putting out more content than others is subjective
@@DigitalHeliumJumper there’s some future obsolescence to be presumed with RU-vidrs. This one? Maybe not so much. But I think making hay when the sun shines is not a bad plan, as long as he’s not getting kids to gamble and buy shitty crypto
You'd be BoNkErS not to accept some of the ad deals you're getting these days. I'll happily sit through some jank 5 second ad if it means you get to keep doin what you're doin
Why is anyone upset that hes doing sponsorships, ect? Its so easy to skip past them if you dont wanna watch it, and the vast majority of his content is completely free! Why wouldnt you want a creator you like to get that extra bag for little to no inconvenience to you? Everyone knows youtube cant be a permanent gig, and hes gotta have plenty of savings for when it eventually ends. Love u and ur content dude ❤❤❤
@@aDubStepdrop In that video he explicitly did not say he was or was not a millionaire, and many of those articles are written for the headline. Unlike Twitch, RU-vid earnings are hard to estimate.
@@aDubStepdrop agree that RU-vid can be more permanent but how… how do you think he got his money in the first place? ads are part of it and he has to advertise his other endeavors in order to get money from them.. also even if he’s got a good financial situation, he’s still going to keep creating and investing in his content so why should he stop getting money for it? he’s not Jeff Bezos it’s okay lmao
I never understand ppl who tell their favorite content creators they’re “selling out” like what do you want them to do? Not have money? Idk ads can be skipped on Instagram or RU-vid it’s not that serious to be mad at lmfao
ik like do they not know u can double click or hit the arrow keys to immediately skip? ppl have no perspective for how much content we receive for free anymore-its not that hes selling out, its that bigger youtubers are finally getting paid fairly for the thing they used to do for free. id rather see the creators i like be supported for the stuff they make…but maybe thats just me?
@@pescadobaby exactly and the more money they have the more they can invest into their channel to create more content. its not like Cody is getting free money from ads, this is his JOB. he’s an ENTERTAINER. he WORKS on videos. these kids don’t understand
@@greentomato8881 he deleted the video when he found out he was wrong. What more is needed? He wasn't the only one who made a similar video. Plus they were coming off kinda creepy.
Being a sellout isn't so bad...as long as I get the content it doesn't really matter. 99% of the stuff he advertises is not even available where I live so I don't even feel like he's even selling anything
i love how cody actually reads comments and takes criticism. the fact that he is responding to comments in this video kind of makes it a conversation and shows that he cares, you know?
Dude, and the way he handled it.. Like it was unnecessary criticism, like people complaining about a “paid THATS CRINGE” and sponsorships.. Like, it’s not that big of a deal, and he’s gotta make the bag. He handled that not-so-constructive criticism very well, and responded to it very maturely… I sure as hell wouldn’t have been able to
Right??? i’m so mad i didn’t watch the video as soon as he uploaded it. my sister saw it and said it was one of the funniest videos she’s watched on his channel. im so mad at myself
Do not think you’re selling out at all - but just FYI Noom is really problematic. They claim to be something different, but ultimately are the same as any other program like Weight Watchers. Their marketing specifically targets people with intuitive eating language meant for people in recovery from eating disorders and then turn around and promote eating disordered behavior. I wish creators who work with them understood how damaging they are to anyone actually trying to heal their relationship with food.
I got the app cos I wanted to lose some weight gained after going on some meds but sustainably and they recommended me 1180 calories a day... I am an active 23 year old women I could lose weight eating 2000 calories
thank you for all the free content you've put out over the years that has made me seriously laugh. If I have to sit through some ads to get it thats totally fine, I'm not paying you anything for this so someone should be :)
@@ayyyayay True but it is a live show & I would totally expect to pay to see them live. It's also only $10 so not really breaking the bank. (well more like $13 for me as I am in Aus but it's great to see a live show from the US while I can't travel anyway)
At the end of the day YT is a job and people go to jobs to make money. Imagine if every time you went to collect your pay cheque, your friends shamed you for only going to your job for the money. Like duh theres nothing wrong with that
This felt like a serious video with the amount of more serious topics he was discussing I was like wait a second is this an apology video??? But he’s sitting on a chair?
Since when is using your platform and resources smartly being a sellout? Anyone calling this man a sellout living paycheck to paycheck sitting there hating not doing shit
thats true-people really have no perspective for how much work goes into content we can consume for free-if it was a comedy show, we’d pay for tickets. they have a right to make money off the time and effort they give us lol
@@isapurcino very true. they're always complaining about ads and sponsorships, do they not realize that their favs need to make money too? just skip the ads if they bother you so much.
@@princessketamine0 honestly! it’s really easy, some content creators even go as far as filming the ads separately in different clothes so you can see the difference and skip straight to the actual video! and still people have the balls to complain about, again, a FREE service
I'm 5 mins in and I've had a sponsorship, a plug of the Love Island podcast, a casual mention of the regular podcast and a plug of the upcoming live show.
Hearing Cody Ko signing Dragostea Din Tei is such a crazy thing Never thought that Cody would nail signing in romanian. I, as a native, remain shook on the flawless accent. I gotta give it to him
why are people so mad when youtubers they like make money? if they're not scamming anyone then i don't really see the problem... sure, ads can be annoying but it's not really deep... this is their job, they need money to live too jshsksj
This is the type of video I always felt he strives for on this channel & hits every so often. A few moments of conversation that dissolves the barrier between the screen and us, his fans. Big love Cody
I’m legit excited for new creators when they get their first sponsorship. This is a job for a lot of y’all. Get the bag however you can. As long as you like the stuff their making just skip past the ad reads if you don’t wanna hear it.
It would be easy to complain about how you’re selling out but like. I would rather those opportunities to go to you and other decent people instead of people who were legitimately deplatformed for being creepy or racists or violent or whatever
Exactly. Tons of us would be enamored to get an email saying “Hey 30k to talk about noom for 2 minutes?”. If I received 30k right now it would drastically change the course of my life by itself- I live in a rather desolate area with very little available even after getting a degree. I’m glad that Cody is a decent person and he doesn’t take this money just to buy a chain and flex.
I feel with the amount of content Cody produces every week, he could never be a sellout. These videos make me feel relaxed... like it's so dumb I forget every problem in the world. For me the ads/sponsorships are no biggie cause the videos make me cry of laughter sometimes and that's super worth it :) I mostly skip the sponsorships tho
I actually really appreciate the video form of the podcast, because I can see a giant block of color during the ad reads and easily skip them. The boys get paid, and I don't get brainwashed by seatgeek. Win-win!
Cody you have helped so many people with your humor and wit. You deserve to make money bro Thank you for helping me through a really depressing time of my life
you’re not a sell out, you’re doing your job. I actually used your code for better help, and therapy and your videos are really helping me get through what I’m going through. Thank you
loved this video cody!!! the song was awesome too. also, these videos where you’re just super honest and stuff are super cool. get that bag with the brand deals and i’ll see you on july 29th!!
Such an honest response but I think he underestimates his own staying power. No need to seize every single opportunity once you realise that you’ve earned this and you are good enough and loved enough to have a long career. I get it though, not many can turn down the crazy money they offer. Just only sell what you believe in and you’re golden x
I feel like Cody has been getting increasingly more aggressive the last couple of videos, you ok buddy? And no, I don’t think you’re a sellout, you’re doing your job. I for sure as fuck wouldn’t do my job for free. I’m stoked you and Noel are doing so well!
Whenever I see someone do an ad, I see the thing they're working towards. I see you trying to build security for you and Kelsey's future, no way am I gonna be mad about that (you guys are mega cute)
Honestly with my favourite creators and adds, I’m always happy when they get adds, cause I know that if they’re doing well financially, they can keep focusing on doing what they like and letting good content come naturally instead of trying to force it.
Missed the chance to see you guys on your last tour in NYC you caught the damn flu Cody and the rescheduled date didn't work for me I think, was so upset. I'm really excited for this live show and already bought my ticket!! Big fan of yours, and of TMG. Can't wait!
Advertise all you want. You've created this all and deserve whatever comes with it. the only thing I disliked was that arcade machine video ad. that rubbed me the wrong way but that was only 1 thing out of tens of thousands of laughs.
same tbh that’s the only time i didn’t really understand why he was advertising it but all of the others are just him trying to get that bag lol really not a big deal
I love these vids. I just feel like im hangin out with Cody. Happy for you, you've been consistently killing the RU-vid/podcast/music grind for years. accept those ads, we love you mr Kolodziejzyk
Cody: yea ads are just part of the grind New advertiser: so… we know you’ve publicly discredited all of your ads, but will you please take our money too?
wait no why would people be mad at youtubers they like doing sponsorships???? that's how they can create content as their full time job. i love seeing creators i enjoy getting sponsorships, i feel like a proud mom (i still skip through the ad part but whatever)
