My Oud for Glory just came over an hour ago. Just sprayed it once on my arm and once on my shirt....My god....I cant stop smelling this. Im a frag head and been collecting since 2012. When i say this belongs in your collection then THIS BELONGS IN YOUR COLLECTION. The mature classy smooth smell is like no other. The first initial spray may come off a bit smokey but the sweetness that blends in MINUTES later make this a very good fragrance. Best part is, not everyone is wearing it. I wouldn't wear this at work but definitely going to try it out on date night with wifey.
I tested Dior Sauvage Elixir and I have oud for glory and I get it. I remember the dry down of the Elixir is musky, dry and warm. And I never thought that the oud for glory had the same thing on the dry down. Insane when you think about it.
I agree the dry down isn’t exactly the same as Savauge elixir but it definitely reminds me of it. So much that I had to spray them side by side to compare.
@@realscentreview Great to hear, Its funny how 2 frags from the same clone-house smell similar. Shows the craftmanship they put in these batches. Try so hard to make a great clone they end up making 2 clones from one batch! hahaha Cheers, brotha
my experience when I bought some of the recommended fragrances is that it is extremely subjective. What seems the perfect fragrance for the presenter, you may end up hating it. Best thing is to try the brand in the store.
Everybody gets burnt that way in this "hobby". It's so subjective it's scary which isn't that surprising considering how emotional scents are. It's also very dependent on skin chemistry. One frag on your skin can be the most wonderful thing and on mine, it's either a chemical mess or smells like a cat litter box. Blue de Chanel everyone raves about as such a safe and beautiful scent turn to absolute shit on my skin, both EDT and EDP and Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'homme Bleu Electrique is a chemical mess on my skin. It's very chemical on paper as well but on my skin it's horrible.
I completely agree, it is so subjective when it comes to fragrant. As many well aware of, one fragrant will blend and project differently in each person body/skin. as each person distinctive chemical odor is different from one person to another.
I just got this today and I see what you mean about the dry down smelling similar to Dior Sauvage Elixir. I have the Lattafa ASAD clone version, and the dry down smells very, very similar to that, imo
Hey, first time coming across the channel. Thanks a lot, fascinating content! Something that caught my attention, why is it recommended to wear this one in cold weather only? Thanks.
Because the majority of my audience is American and that particular market tends to only wear sweet, heavy fragrances in cold weather and lighter, fresh fragrances in hot weather. I don't agree with this [and I make this clear in many of my videos] but it's just easier for me to tell my audience "this is better for cold weather" instead of having a bunch of people blind buy this, wear it in the hot weather and then get angry with me.
$23 crazy prices. My first oud fragrance. Kind of odd at first but becomes addictive. The atomizer on mine is a real fine mist. Sauvage? I don't get that. Lattafa Asad dry down is spot on Elixir. Office would be ok just 2 sprays
I’m glad you stated that it smells like Sauvage Elixr on the dry down as I’ve decided to buy Amad instead as it’s a better fragrance and smells similar in the dry down ! 😀 Also could you help me Ameer Al Oud Intense Oud 100ml Perfume Spray by Lattafa- I want to buy that , however I was wondering if it smelt similar to Armani stronger buy you ? As I couldn’t stand that !!
The Ameer is woodier than SWY and has none of the aromatic accords. They are similar but different. However, if you hate the SWY DNA, you probably won't like Ameer.
Excellent thanks for your help !! You can’t always blind buy a fragrance! However I blind buy Raghba for Men - what a fragrance !! Excellent had so many compliments!!
Awww yes the original Raghba , I should imagine it does , like a cigar whiskey that is ! I also Najdia which is fantastic powerhouse aquatic , fresh amber fragrance - an all year rounder . One of lattafas greats ….
Love this channel, and im not trynna be a jerk I promise, but why are there a few fragrance reviewers that say "Fraagrance instead of just "Fragrance"? Im honeatly asking. Is that the actual pronunciation?
I've never heard a difference. But I'm Canadian and there are few Canadian reviewers. On top of this, it's an east coast Canadian accent (I'm from a place a few hours north of Boston, for reference).
The smell might be a bit exotic for some peoples' tastes, idk if I'd wear it to a club. Good club colognes from Lattafa: Asad Ameer al Oudh Intense Oud Raghba Wood Intense Khamrah
It’s a very very different scent. To me it smells like Christmas. I would give it a solid 6/10. But I wouldn’t recommend for blind buying you might be a little disappointed.
I bought the perfume as recommend by most fragrance channels to be honest I'm disappointed didn't like them smell at all smells like medicine it's unbearable
@@wonderboy855 I learned really quick not to buy anything “content” creators say is good. You have to go by what you like. I ALWAYS smell it first or buy a decant
got this and amethyst.. OFG = to me, smells like a sweet salty but Ed caramel/cotton candy type and some spice on opening... dry down is very heavy Woody/spice/Oriental spice type stuff.. almost rinds me of like an old cathedral/church having a service where you can smell the old wood and insence they use in church.. def not a warm/hot weather wear unless you use only like 1 spray it'll make your head spin or give you a headache.. amethyst= sweet candy rose reminds me of a sweet tart candy at first then settled down to a soft spicy rose mixed with a bit of the oud for glory I mentioned up top.. I'd really say if you have both, mix or layer them with like 2 of OFG and maybe 4 of amethyst. to me these aren't beast mode at all on skin.. on clothes it'll last 2 or 3 days. it don't project much
it does smell the same... BUT doesn't perform nearly as well... which is expected. It lasts about 8 hours... while oud for greatness lasts til you wash it off or 18+ hours. I'm not sure how Initio does it, but it's impressive
@Paixão You gotta be realistic... there's only a couple of other fragrances I've had/smelled that last that long. It's rare. I bought it for my wedding, so i paid retail... but if I buy again - ill get it on discount for 2 something
I got oud for glory. The first day it arrived, I sprayed it on my hoodie once. At first it smelled nice but it was too strong so I took my hoodie off and left it in the closet for a week. Today I grabbed my hoodie and I could still smell it.
i hated this fragrance at first, then came back to it and omg...then i got the Amethyst recently too which was also an instant dislike...sooo nuclear...but now I love that too...almost more that Oud for Glory. I work from home and overspray lol. Agree on elixir comparison....definitely
I got one and sprayed three sprays on my arm, I am very disappointed as I can hardly smell it, I have to put my nose on my arm and even then it's very weak, is this right?
This is not consistent with my experience. Number of factors that influence performance: skin moisture level, air moisture level, anosmia, maturation of the scent itself.
I've got a few dozen of the things but no frag can ever be a must-have. I really, really do not like clips by people telling me, if only in the search engine thumbnail thing, that I must buy this frag or not buy that one. But this frag is in the ballpark for something I want to get (unnecessarily), so thanks for the info.
Sorry to nick pick here but at 2:05, "although this box is made out of cardboard and plastic". What? Pretty much all fragrances come inside a shitty cardboard box. This fragrance is 30-40 dollars and it's presentation is better than most $100+ fragrances 🤦♂️. But then you fixed it all up by immediately saying "very calssy presentation" so it's all good 👍. The fragrance is a stunner for sure and for the price it can't be beat honestly. And Oud for Greatness doesn't even have real Oud inside, and if it does is .0000001%.
@@realscentreview Works really well. You inspired me to try it after you rightfully pointed out that Oud for Glory and Sauvage Elixir are very similar in the drydown (don't have Elixir anymore, only Asad). Spot on review, keep it up!
@@realscentreview woody oud by maison alhambra is a dupe of tom ford oud wood. Im looking to buy my first oud fragrance n this two is top on my list. Hope u can review woody oud soon ! Cheers
@@matrixallure Yes. Oud for Glory is a clone of Oud for Greatness by Initio. Neither of these clones has real oud. They don't smell like real oud. It is extremely difficult to find a cheap discount cologne that smells like oud, and 0 of them contain real oud. The only one that comes to mind is Faqat Lil Rijal by Rasasi.
I thought perhaps there was a batch issue with mine, 05.23, it's not projecting very much, skin scent as you mentioned, how is the projection? I feel like mine is a hour MAX probably like 1h, not really sure as I haven't asked others if they can smell it, but I feel like its really weak
Yeah, I don't recommend Fragrantica. Thank you. My skills have improved a lot since this video - with respect to both video editing and note detection.
@Real Scent Review totally agree, this concept of fragrances for summer or winter is a very western thing. In the Middle East, you see people rocking super strong oud fragrances without any problems.
@RealScentReview Brodda, finally a review that does MH Oud For Glory justice. Tried this at the mall ($75 a bottle for this clone)! Rip off.. thank God im in the know cause the scent its self woulda been worth it if I didnt know any better.
Its not playgiarism unless they copied the bottle and name exactly, which they didn't. The smell isnt exactly the same, either. Thats like saying any new pop or rap song that comes out is plagurized because they are 80% the same as the music thats already out. In my opinion, "Inspired by" fragrences are okay, its fakes and total copies that are a problem.
@realscentreview Esteé Lauder will do anything it legally can to elimate the competition, no matter what the reason. So, I dont base my ethical stances on the opinions of mega corporations. If anything, these clones help the consumer by giving them more options and providing serious competition to the major brands. Having brands compete for consumers' money is a good thing, as it drives innovation and lower prices.
*instantly push like number 666 The price is just insane (less than 20 US for me now) Winter or summer? It doesn't matter: my girlfriend sniffs me like a catnip.
So glad I never bought this. A co worker had to leave work because he was smelling up the place. I felt so bad for him because he always has some fire cologne on him. He got me into collecting. To me,it smelled like a HS locker room that has lots of wet sweaty socks that dried up. Then they poured this cologne into the dried up socks. And that’s what you are spraying on. Only thing close to this bad is JPG Le “female” I mean Le “male”
I had a very different experience. This is one of the most awful things I’ve ever had come out of a bottle. Repulsive odor. Hurt my sinuses and eyes. What is that initial smell??? It’s god-awful. Glad I didn’t pay much for it. I’ll let it sit for 6 months and try again, but I have a poor prognosis for this one. I believe there may be good and bad batches of this one or some poor quality control.
I wish. I'd love some free bottles. Unfortunately, I have to use my own money to acquire the colognes in my collection and then formulate my own opinions about them by researching, studying and testing them on my own time.
