When you change out the rope to pull the tractor, add a 6 inch piece of PVC pipe that you thread the rope through. This adds to hand comfort and control when pulling the tractor.

If you have any old hoses around that leak or one you wouldnt mind cutting up, you could cut a foot & a half to two feet chunk, untie the rope and slide it over the rope for the handle part for pulling to make it easier on the hands. It's flexible so it won't crack or break when pulling the chicken tractor. Great build, especially mainly from scraps! Love seeing ingenuity at its finest. You have a beautiful family. Cut a piece of garden hose and fish the string through it as a handle to make it easier to pull.

Or piece of the PVC pipe, or pool noodle. Anything that provides a bigger grip that would fit your hands better.

One pointer on the hardware cloth on the bottom, you actually want the hardware cloth stapled to the outside in order to keep predators out. We have a high predator load, and haven't had issues with predators breaking through. It goes with any fencing, you want the staples on the side that will end up with the most force. Chicks and pullets dont exert as much force as a dog or raccoon.

Good job! I would tie a pvc pipe in the middle of the rope so you can pull it much easier.

I suggest shortening the rope. This will give a little more lift to the front and will make it easier to move. Also use an old piece of cut hose around the rope to make it easier on the hands.

For the rope maybe you have piece of hose you can put the string through it will help your hands. Old garden hose works great.

I like hoop coops. A wooden base & 2 cattle panels. U can put wire of any size as u want. Then 1 end build ur door with the 1×2 or 2x2 framing. I'm unsure if cattle panels is less heavy or not than tubing. I've seen some crazy ideas on putting wheels on them. The pull-rope can be threaded thru a cut pool noodle for gentle handle. Tarp or heavy gage plastic for top. 1 channel I watch use old billboard material for covers.

awesome video and the mother and 6 chicks are doing good in the chicken hatching lean too i call it and we moved another hen in ther on the 6th of may and put 6 eggs in the nest we put in the cage and she is still sitting on them and we got 2 4 week old gaurd geese i call them mom wanted to let the chickens or us know if there was something up and hopefully we wont have anymore broody hens for a bit

If you put a lip on the inside of the door, you won't have to worry about any chickens getting out when you go in

This is a nice one. You said you might cover the bottom too. Yes, you should cover 2 adjoining sides, point those sides toward the westerly winds. You could also use a plastic roll-up sled as skids for the front. It might slide easier. One more idea, put a piece of garden hose over the rope. Pick a thin one for her.

Awesome suscovich tractor! I’ve been thinking about using pvc pipes instead of the metal bars and it looks just fine. I’ve seen people put pvc on the pull string so it doesn’t hurt your hands
