Let's face facts here, these guys are absolutely amazing. With so little they turn out some excellent products. I live in a country in Africa where they have all the natural resources in the world but little will to turn it into something, instead they complain everyday, blame their government and everyone else for what they don't have. As for these guys I take my hat out for them.

Every person you see in this video is earning about $5 a day or less. Every single one will be unfit to work within a few years, no pension, no compensation for industrial injury. Think about that whenever you buy something that's cheap.

Galvanization. I guess they are nickel plating. You can look up what kind of chemicals are used for this process. Fascinating how they manufacture these products with the tools they have.
I kind of feel like your heat treating process is lacking but I dont know what metal you are using. Just doesnt seem like it will harden enough to last
Luckily, sulfuric acid and nickel plating are not toxic, otherwise these workers would have been really poisoned and it would be difficult for any of them to live to old age. Safety first, always!
These guys are amazing and it's very interesting to see them manufacture these coil over shocks all by hand but I fear the guy who works with all the chemicals to chrome plate them without any protection for his hands and face will have to pay the price somewhere down the road. They are to be admired for doing this repetitive job to make a living~!
I don’t think there is any question that you can make a high quality product with minimal sophistication or complex tools, I would just be curious about what sort of metal they are using, what type of oil, exc.
To be more specific, those shocks aren't worth the metal they are made out of, but at least those guys manufacture something, gain some skills, and hopefully gain employment with a company that values minimal worker protective measures. Subjectively, that manufacture probably loses 3 fph ( fingers per hour ).
