Celine Santoro I'm dreading the day we lose him. It's coming we just don't know when but he's in his 90s now. As a Brit I've grown up with his voice on TV and I love him! Little known fact- his brother actor Richard Attenborough who passed away coupla yrs ago lost his daughter and her family in 2001 boxing day tsunami in Thailand. So sad!

So here we see why it's so important for the eggs to stay below ground. That environment requires moisture - the soil acts as insulation for that trapped moisture. Above ground, the frothy foam and egg's moisture would evaporate quickly in the dry climate.

Those tadpoles had clear, gell like bodies and tails for navigating through water. Its amazing that they will never likely touch a body of throughout water thier entire lives.

I had visited Uluru and found tadpoles in the ponds that are formed after rainwater washes down off the rock. The eggs lie in stasis waiting for the right conditions to hatch. The tenacity of life continues to amaze me.
